Food is OK, service is good, typical bar food: burgers, lots of appetizers, chipotle this, jalapeño that. But more importantly not a place to take your kids or your wife, unless you're ok with alot of "f**k" and "s**t" coming from the clientele. read more

We just had a delicious lunch at Benny's Pub. The French dip was tender and flavorful. Our server was Nikki and she handled the entire place with ease. We spilled a drink and she cleaned it up pleasantly and made a joke about it. Give Benny's a try! read more

I definitely enjoyed my experience here this time more than last time. Lindsay was our server and she was great! She was very busy as we were in the back/side area but was on the move! I got the Friday fish fry and it comes with alot of stuff. Love the cracker breadsticks with the cheese dip, great touch! The fish was good but I have had better, but I would get it again. My husband had his favorite, the open faced hot roast beef sandwich. It is VERY GOOD! We will go again very soon. read more

Service here is very slow. They also do not have a great beer selection. I'm a big stout fan and the only stout they have on draft or bottle was Guinness... okay, but basic. The facility decor looks really nice, but overall it leaves a lot to be desired. read more

Redemption after crap food all weekend! Tammy gave us directions to Benny's when we called from the highway and said they had a huge parking lot for our RV. It ended up that Tammy was our hostess, server, and bartender. She was excellent as was the food! Will drive out of our way again for Benny's. And $2.00 pints of delicious beer too! read more

I would have given four, or even five stars for Benny's. The beer is awesome, and I enjoy supporting our only local brewery. The reason I only give them three stars (would have given 3.5 if able to) is because when I went in there for a couple of beers with my son, who is in the Army stationed overseas but home on leave, the waitress naturally carded him. When he handed her his military ID she told him that she couldn't accept that as ID. What?? How can they say that they won't accept military ID for proof of age? The fine men and women issued that ID have extensive background checks, their identities are guaranteed. They may as well have said "You can fight for our country, but don't try using that ID in here." It's a real shame which casts a dark shadow, at least in my mind, on an otherwise fantastic establishment. Shame. read more

Benny's had to win me over. They draw a strange crowd. If you stay close to the bar, you'll have a great time. The kitchen has really come into its own over the years. I've seen some pretty unique plates for such a casual place. My group loves the quesadillas. I tend to go for the spiced shrimp. Everything they do with corned beef is wonderful. The real triumph here is the Antietam menu. Sample all of the brewery's craft beers, you won't regret it. I am obsessed with the Hefferveisen and Maibock, both of which I buy by the growler. The live music has steadily improved. Definitely give this bar a chance. read more

Just recently ate here for the first time after getting out from seeing a late movie. Walking in, it is very nice and laid back, seated right away at a table. My girlfriend ordered a special cheese burger, and I had the special which was a half a rack of ribs, steamed shrimp, and French fries. The food was absolutely incredible, and the burger was thick and juicy and very well seasoned. Nothing bad to say about this place, we will be back! read more

It's been a couple months since I visited Benny's but I forgot to leave a review and they deserve one. Definitely a great spot in Hagerstown and if I'm ever in the area again, it'll be one of my first stops. The food was good and reasonably-priced, what struck me though was the beers they brew themselves were only $3.50 per glass! That's less than half of what I expected based on my experiences at other craft breweries. Also, I don't usually like dark beer but their milk stout is ON POINT - so much so that I had to go to their liquor store next door and buy a growler of it. read more

I have never used yelp before. The only reason why I went through all this trouble, downloading the app, was so I could highlight the discriminatory experience that I had at this particular pub. My friends and I got to the bar and we tried to order a couple of drinks, unfortunately we never received our drinks. The bartender that was on duty, whose name I believe was Sam repeatedly and purposely ignored us when we tried to get her attention. She kept attending other customers around the bar, but never attended us. Oh, Benny's, you are at once my greatest sorrow and greatest joy! In just an hour, I managed to blow my gluten-free, sugar-free, mostly vegetable diet! But, boy, was it worth it! Folks, you need to eat a Fat Bastard sandwich from Benny's - stat! A fat grilled ham and (Swiss, if I remember correctly) cheese sandwich with a good slathering of crab salad thrown in. Hubby had the stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon. It was tasty, but the breast was a little overcooked/dry (nice helping of gravy made up for it somewhat). The crowning jewel was the "baby bakers" potato side on his plate. Tiny whole potatoes that had been deep-fried, then tossed in seasoning. Hubby said it was like biting into mashed potatoes in a skin. An Antietam Brewery beer flight rounded out the dinner. I particularly liked the Red River IPA, he liked Pickett's Porter and Peach Ale. Met the brew master as he left for the day. He told us about a raspberry ale he'd made that I'm pretty sure should be ready by now. Service was friendly and efficient. this review is based upon one visit. i went here after work and had a beer, one of the ones brewed in house. it was the red ipa and it was pretty good. had a lot of body to it though, its definitely gunna fill you up pretty quick. i also ordered the ribs. i love authentic slow smoked BBQ and i knew this wasnt going to be what i was getting, but i tried it anyways and i wish i tried something else. i dunno how they make theirs but they came out really warm, too hot to eat after eating all my fries, which were pretty mediocre. the ribs just had no flavor to them at all. they came with a cup of something that i couldnt tell if it was bbq sauce or ketchup! i feel like they do probably put out some other food thats pretty good. the bar tender was nice and helpful but the waitress (who was REALLY cute) kind of ignored us at first when we sat down and she wasnt too helpful when we asked her opinions on certain items. the place has a cool ambience though, big kettles for brewing beer throughout the bar. i would try this place again if i lived in town, but being from out of state theres a lot of places id rather try before i go back read more

Tonight we decided to give Bennys a chance to redeem themselves after our last experience. They totally blew it. It took about 15 minutes before we were even greeted. Then when asked what they had on tap, the bartender had to look at the taps. So far, not to big a deal. We order two appetizers which came out separately. At this point, I'm trying to be understanding. But then my food came out and I was sitting waiting on my boyfriends food to arrive. The bartender never even put it in. Finally after I had it for a bit, he asked if I'd like himto keep it warm for me. By this point, it wasn't even hot anymore. While we were waiting, my boyfriend asked if they had knob creek. The bartender thought it was a wine. If you are a bartender you should know a little about alcohol or at least the beers that your establishment has. At least the food was good, even though it was cold. I am in restaurant management and if this was the type of service that my guests received, I would be horribly ashamed. Benny's serving of Antietam Brewery beer is what mainly attracted me as a lunch stop on the way from Fairfax, VA to Mont Alto, PA to visit a Penn State campus on a Sunday afternoon. I had no idea the restaurant was the go-to place for GB Packers' fans to watch a game. My wife and two kids (10 and 17) and I frankly paused once walked into the middle of a Packers-Panthers game, but we decided to stay. We're glad we did. The crowd was loud but entertaining and not overly profane, and we never felt as out of place as we clearly were. The wait staff was prompt and friendly, and the food was top-notch. The meat-and-cheese app plate is huge, and the wings, hamburger, and sandwiches we had were reasonably priced and well-prepared. Excellent fries. I had a Trappist Antietam beer, which was excellent. I went around the corner after lunch to fill a 32 oz growler at the take-away store. If you're in the neighborhood, or live near, it's worth a visit! read more
