I think we restaurant it's trying to find itself and the beer needs some improvement. I bought one of the IPAs and it didn't really match the description nor did it have near the alcohol content that it was supposed to have. You have to order from the bar, but the place is set up like a restaurant and expects tips. The quantities of the food were excellent, but everything was very greasy. I love the interior of this place, it's like a cool little cabin vibe. You order at the bar. Sometimes there is a line, but they are very efficient, with servers coming forward to get orders on their iPads as you wait in line to make sure you don't have to wait. Chic Fila vibes. Honestly table service would make more sense. Given this dynamic. The staff were all outstanding and the food came out very quickly. We had the fish and chips and the Korean tacos. The Korean tacos were flawless and very tasty. The fish was a bit too crispy. That is to say it was a very hard shell. The Cole slaw also had everything you needed for good Cole slaw but seasoning. We added salt and pepper but it needed a lot more. They had live music coming on, and we would have loved to stay for that. It is a nice little place to eat. read more

Have gone a couple of times. Food is good. Highly recommend the chicken tacos. Delicious! A little odd in how it's done. You order everything at the register and they bring food to you. You tell them the table number. Getting glasses of water is self service as are utensils. I could be wrong but am attributing it to getting staff in this area is very difficult for businesses. First night, we bussed our own table. Last time, server came and cleared away dishes. Not a beer drinker but they have a fairly large list of brews and also have cocktails. I would like to see desserts added to the menu though. We will definitely be back. read more

A terrible disappointment! World of mouth from an employee of this place, made me interested. Birthday weekend, it's a brewery and this fat guy likes beer! However I do not like flat beer that has no taste and to be brutally honest could have been brown water. It was an English style bitter. I actually felt embarrassed that the brewers were proud of this. It wasn't just my beer that was flat, my wife's was the same. I don't know why this place is as busy as it was. Maybe people who like Coors lite? The other brewery in town is by far better, and the beer is actually good there. read more

Stopped by on way through Waynesboro. Great selection of beers and varied menu for a brewery. I had grilled shrimp tacos that were well prepared and reasonably priced. Bartender was very attentive and friendly. The dining area is welcoming and they have an outdoor patio area where dogs are welcome. read more

We went last Friday to enjoy beer and dinner. The place was not overly crowded we sat in the bar area, we sat and waited for 10 minutes my husband went to the bar and ask how they did things. He was told he could order at bar, which he did , his flight came out and about 10 minutes later my Blackberry Lemonade was delivered. or should I say slammed on the table in front of me. When the drink was deliver we tried to ask the lady how we ordered food and she turned her head and said come to bar. My husband went to order our food Brussel sprouts, burger and sweet potato fries. Food was very good, sweet potatoes over cooked and very few of them. When food was delivered it once again was slammed in front of us, no silverware they pointed ti a waitress station fir self serve pick up, we ask for water and they pointed to a large orange container, can the servers not speak? I would rate this place to have the worse customer service at any brewery and we have visited many. I even wrote the manager a note and he said let me look into this and get back with you, haven't heard a thing from him. The 6 good reviews probably from staff. We visited MBC for the first time tonight. It was hopping and crowded around 730! Outside entertainment was ongoing but we decided to stay inside. The line for beer was intimidating but as timing would have it 2 people got up from the bar as we walked in. Ordered 4 diff IPA's and all were very nice. For food we had the loaded tots (@owner, please make sure that the kitchen needs to send these right away, ours were only warm at best) and the feta-honey pita dip which was awesome. Really nice atmosphere and cheerful staff. We'll be back! read more

Our first experience with Michaux was several months ago when they were brand new. At that time we had to wait 15 minutes for the employees to stop talking about their weekend plans before someone eventaully came over to the bar to get our order. We chalked it up to a new operation and poor staff training, and decided that we would give it another chace once they got into a good workflow. That second chance was today for brunch, and unfortunately the exprience was even worse. I had sausage gravy and biscuits that arrived before any utensils or napkins. It had sat under the heat lamp for so long it was luke warm and you could peel the gravy off like a skin in one giant mass. When the utensils came it was a shared bucket of low density plasticware that every customer digs through to locate one of the few folks in a sea of spoons and knives. We mentioned the dissatisfaction about the food to the person behind the bar who watched me eat exactly two bites before setting it aside, but no one came out to speak with us directly about it or try to address the situation in any meaninful way. When we were paying the tab (including sausage gravy) someone who I assume was a manager walked past on her way to get a supply from under the bar. She asked the perfunctory, 'How was everything today?', so I mentioned that the food wasn't very good and pointed to the 95% remaining on my plate which was still sitting there waiting to be removed for the past 20 minutes. The total response was "Oh, sorry to hear that" as she walked away to continue her task. Michaux seems to have an identity problem. On one hand they want to be this upscale hip place with hand crafted drinks, artistic plating, and everyone's hair up in a bun, but they're not able to deliver on it with the poor quality service, bad food, and clearly cut corners. Michaux seems to have a management and training problem. The difference between good service and superior service is a lot of refinement and experience. Superior service was not the expectation. The difference between bad service and good service is basic training on how to handle common situations in a restaurant, minimal experience, and a manager who sets and upholds standards. Good service should be the expectation of both the customer and management. That expectation was not delivered on in either of my experiences at Michaux. read more
