If you have an issue with your vehicle they immediately start listing all the reasons its not covered. They will not review any of the work that was performed with you. They just shuttle you directly to the payment window and they are done. They won't even note the problems you are complaining about on the paperwork. had to bring my ecosport for a recall, and they did not have a car on lot for me to borrow, did not try to reach out to other dealerships, told me to go to enterprise to rent a car. then when i turned in the paperwork for a refund for the rental because again my car was in the shop for a recall, totally fords fault, they declined my refund because I didn't rent a "ford" vehicle. which they did not tell me i needed to do before hand. my car was in shop for three months and didn't have it finished until i mentioned i needed to go out of town, then they somehow had it done next day. read more

I live out of state and was looking to buy a vehicle from Benson. Asked for a walk around video and some pics. I found a few defects that I requested be corrected before signing any paperwork. They blamed Ford's quality and other people who test drive the vehicle. They even tried to hide the defects when sending additional pics. The sales manager then made the decision to not correct those issues and put the vehicle back on the lot for sale. Really crappy way to treat a first time customer. My experience at the dealership was a new truck purchase. My wife and I were VERY pleased with the purchase process and the sales team altogether. Went in to have a simple recall performed. Service advisor came out and said I needed new tires- unrelated to my recall. I said I was aware, and he said in order to do the recall my Lugnuts needed to be replaced. That all 20 were bad but 10 needed to be done to access the recall. All 20 lug nuts bad?! In order to get the recall completed I said to go ahead and do the 10 that were "needed" and that I wanted the old lug nuts to take with me. $13.99 EACH - 10 lug nuts later I walked out with a box of COMPLETELY FINE, NOT MISHAPEN OR STRIPPED LUG NUTS and $140 bill for my "FREE" recall work. Do not recommend going shady business that left me feeling vulnerable and completely taken advantage of. read more

Pleasant folks but they gouge you in the service department. I took my truck in because the check engine light was on. They charged me $120 to read the code. I found out later that Auto Zone will do it for free. I got robbed! Then they handed me an estimate for $2700. I decided to get a second opinion and the other place will do the same work for less than half. I won't be going back!!! read more

I bought a used Escape in February of last year, I've been taking it to Benson for every oil change after my first free dealer service in TR; Benson is just closer and more convenient. But, I'll never go back. I'm still a bit salty since I took it in for an oil change last summer and asked them to see what was dragging beneath my car. I got a call when the oil change was done telling my two splash guards are ruined and need to be replaced, and quoted me over $400 - and golly they can have it done in the next day! Never did I ask them to quote that work or parts, or worse, remove my splash guards which are STILL hanging in my garage for a real mechanic to reinstall. The last straw was this week. My first tire rotation at Benson resulted in a roaring sound, which got worse after the next rotation. Yesterday, I took my car to a reputable garage in Anderson County to check out that roaring that keeps getting louder. All four tires are ruined, having been cupped due to...get this...poor tire rotation. What????? Yes, that can get messed up...didn't know that. Here's my take...I liked my service guy I dealt with (Travis?) but I'm not too sure about their technicians. This can only be one of two things: Either their service tech(s) are untrained,uncertified of just plain irresponsible - which is hard to believe...but not totally improbable. OR, since I am just another female; they're doing it on purpose in order to garner some tire sales from the ditzy woman who wouldn't know any better - pretty sure that's the case. After all, they keep trying to sell me a battery every so often because it's not measuring right...Car starts, everything works...not buying it. My last all points inspection told me I needed 2 tires and a new battery (again). No mention that all 4 tires were cupped, interesting. I'm done. You asked for a review, but obviously 1 stars aren't allowed on the sit so you get it here, but they won't have my business. read more

On two occasions I've brought my 2019 Ford F250 here for a standard oil change with the standard inspection they do and a tire rotation. Well the first occasion I made it all the way home and noticed they failed to rotate the tires. So I called and talked to a service rep who said they did. Looking at the tires and seeing the same mark or the right rear that was only on that tire I know they didn't. The rep stated I could bring the truck back and they would rotate them. Something that should have been done in the first place. The second occasion just the day before I took my truck into benson for an oil change I had to replace a tire on the left rear do to a nail. So after I pay for the oil change and get my key I make it to my truck only to see the tires have yet again rotated my tires. So I go back in and talk to the service rep and he goes and talks to the tech that worked on my truck. Then he said they couldn't rotate the tires due to my lug nuts being messed up. So when I asked him to show me the warped lug nuts he pointed to one spot where the impact wrench hit it and took the finish off of it. I told him it was funny that the professional at discount tire had no problem with removing the lugs and changing a tire. So my take away after he tried to take ownership of the tires not getting rotated he blame it on because I scheduled my service appointment online for a day they don't like servicing diesels. He said to call next time to schedule my service and that they like to do diesels on Fridays. My thought is well why do you offer online scheduling? Also you knew what type of truck I have cause I input the info when I scheduled. Needless to say if they can't do a simple tire rotation what else are they skipping when they say they've done service on my truck? I will no longer be bringing my vehicle to this dealership and I would strongly recommend finding a dealership that actually does the work they charge for and state they do on paperwork. read more

This is the absolute WORST car dealership I have ever dealt with. I was sold a 2020 Ford Escape that has whistling noises, horrendous noises when backing up, and a knocking sound when I try to accelerate. No one there knows what the problem is, nor do they give a damn. I have gotten the wrong information over and over, bur gee whiz!!! ( I am being sarcastic now as I can't use words I really mean), this is a nightmare.. No one there bothers to help me except Mr. Cooper, and he knows nothing, due to the poor "system" there. He's the only one who would even be kind. I've left this horror of a car for 2 days at a time with no satisfaction nor answers. They're always "short" of workers, parts, and sense. And I traded my '21 Subaru dream car for this grief and anger???? I had to trade it because of financial reasons, and I cry over the piece of junk Benson Ford sold me, knowing it was a piece of junk. I don't know whether to contact a lawyer, but I am seriously considering it. Oh, and two weeks ago, after someone said he "thought" it might be the transmission, after driving with me. Then when I called again to ask what they planned to do, someone told me I was to get a new transmission! After 2 weeks I called to ask why someone hadn't called me about this, and guess what? The person in the service department, I was told, "must have gotten me confused with another person". See what I mean? I am angry, disgusted, and FED UP! The sales manager was cussing and blurting out our income information while we were in the office and then preoceeded to throw all of his belongings off his desk when we decided to leave after hearing someone talk like that about customers WHILE they were in the same office. This is not the first time they've done this to people. They will discriminate if you're not dressed based on your income. Can't tell you how many customers they've lost due to this bahavior. The sales manager needs anger management classes and a physciatric evaluation. Didn't receive a phone call to say sorry or anything. So disappointed, hurt and angry. I will never go here again. Just witnessed several of the workers here get in a boarder line physical altercation here. They were screaming at each other and threatening to call the cops. Was a pretty scary situation considering we were sitting in the office. And practically ran to get out of the office. I bought a truck from Benson in 2020 and now the track that the sliding glass window in the rear glass panel has disbonded which allows airflow and water ingress. I purchased an extended coverage and not surprisingly learned that it wasn't covered. I'll never purchase another vehicle from them again and I'll never go back to their service department. Only 1.5 years after purchasing the vehicle and they won't fix it without replacing the entire back glass assembly for ~$1000. read more

This review is for their collision center where I recently had my F-150 repaired after a rear end collision. They were the nicest people I have dealt with in a long while and they got me scheduled in quickly. They completed the repair ahead of schedule, and when I took my truck back for an adjustment on the bumper alignment they took me in immediately and made the fix in 15 minutes. Everything looks as good as it was brand new. So glad I took my truck here instead of the place the insurance company partnered with. read more

Paid $400 for them just to look at my truck for them to tell me that it isn't broken but as soon as I get it back it is still broken???? We have been taking our Ford F150 truck to Benson Ford since we moved here in 2016. We have experienced mediocre customer service during those visits but this most recent visit will cause us to NEVER return. I noticed a leak on our garage floor under the truck and I scheduled to bring the truck in for evaluation. I receive a call from Kenneth who tells me after running a leak test that the leak is from behind the water pump and what I am seeing is coolant. It will cost $2100 to fix the leak and replace said water pump and hoses. He goes on to tell me that because of where this is located it will take 12 man hours of labor to do this job. Since they are in there, he says we need to replace the sparkplugs and clean the engine for @ $250 and my "rear brakes are shot" and need new rotors and pads ($550). They also need to replace the lugnuts ($120) on the truck in order to rotate the tires. We are up to around $3,000 now... We had the truck in just a couple of months prior for maintenance and to install a trailer brake controller. Nothing was mentioned about lug nuts and we did not receive a report at the last visit but the rep said the brakes were "fine". I called to speak to the service manager Mike about my displeasure related to being "upsold" on everything today and my concerns about the whole visit. He states he would look into the quote and call me back in an hour. I never heard from him and we had to pick up the truck on my lunch break due to my work schedule. I picked up the truck and took it to another mechanic who said I did NOT need new rotors or brake pads and had much more time on them. They also fixed the leak for $340 and did not even charge me for a leak test. The fact that I never heard back from the service manager tells me two things: 1) He is pushing his team to be unethical and also upsell everything that they possibly can. 2) He doesn't care about losing business due to these tactics. We will NEVER return to Benson Ford and likely will not return to another Ford dealer for service. read more

Bought a used pick-up. I dealt with David K. and found him to be a stand up guy. We negotiated what I think was a fair deal. Had several items that we agreed the dealership would fix and they did but it really was David's follow up after the sale I appreciated most. I found the dealership to be pretty typical, service department was a little slow. One day David was off but arranged with Ashby to follow up on my service. Also want to give him a shout out for excellent service. Bottom line if you find the vehicle you want there I find David to close the deal. read more

Our daughter bought a Pre-Owned 2006 Prius in Mid-October 2015. Before her first loan payment was even drafted in November, the Prius died. It is in her driveway DEAD - 5 weeks after purchase. Before it totally died, 4 weeks after purchasing it from Benson Ford all the lights went off to be serviced. She took it to a local service that told her the battery would need replacing because it was worthless. To the tune of $3000. Just the battery. When she called Benson to find out why she was sold a car that had cleared for sale, yet clearly did not have a good battery, she was told that they don't have a technician that is qualified to check hybrids. Yet the sales sheet clearly states 'battery replaced'. Evidently to the Benson Dealership, the words 'battery replaced' didn't clarify that it was replaced with a faulty, dying one. Plus no one there is qualified to even check it so how on earth could they clear it. They REFUSE to replace the hybrid battery. Benson now will be removed from the USAA Preferred Dealership List due to the complaint being filed with USAA because of this matter (which is why she went to them in the first place). My daughter's attorney is currently taking action against Benson Ford for replacement of the battery. If they will replace the battery as was stated in the sales slip with ONE THAT WORKS I will remove this review and we will remove our complaint from USAA. We know that USAA sales make up about 30% of the business of a dealership if they are on the Preferred Dealer list - so it would be smart not to lose 30% of your sales. It's also smart to accept replacing a battery rather than going through legal battle or losing USAA referred sales. read more

I went to this dealership and was ready to buy an orange 2012 Jeep Wrangler. we drove the car and the check engine light turned on, the sales manager told me it was a sensor and reset it knowing that I was going to take it to my mechanic. I asked the manager if I could take it to my mechanic and he told me yes, I asked him if anything was wrong with the vehicle he told me no, I asked him if something was wrong with it if they would fix it before we bought it he said yes because the vehicle went through a rigorous check before they put it on the lot that mr bensons standards were very high. come to find out there was about 2000$ worth of repair needed and when we took the vehicle back they got very disappointed stating that the vehicle check was something called catastrophic check only. meaning they only check to make sure its not going to fall apart when you drive it I guess. so they told me that they were going to have to have the mechanic recheck the problems and if they were actually wrong ( they were I can show you) that they would have to repair it and raise the price. I bought a truck about a year ago and decided I wanted to try to trade for something a little less expensive. The problem is I have some negative equity in the truck and the finance company will not refinance stating I have to go through the dealership for help with that. I really don't want to let it go back and my credit be ruined but know that there is still some options. I have been talking to a person there about my options such as maybe refinancing and I kept getting "I will get back with you" constantly. That was Feb. I tried again this week and kept getting told we can figure out something to help but never got calls back again! So Sat. I went up there in person AGAIN and the one person I had been talking to and asking for help would not even come out and talk to me. The original sales person I had bought the truck from acted like he didn't want to be bothered with my problem. I got that feel from the entire place! Never did I expect to be treated that way! This is THE worst dealership that I have EVER been to. The owner is VERY unprofessional. I did buy a 2010 Ford Escort from them and the salesman was great. However, when my wife and I went to the closing/financial agent, to sign all of the papers, it went downhill from there. I got what I think was a really good deal on the car, but the finance guy kept trying to sell us stuff that we didn't want (extended warranty, tire insurance, etc...). When we questioned a piece of paper that he wanted us to sign that basically stated that we would not get a lawyer if we ever had any grievances with the dealership, the finance guy went to get the owner. The owner stormed into the room, yelled at us, and snatched the paper out of our hands and ripped it up, stating, "if you're going to tear every little word apart, then I'll just tear the whole thing up". My wife was in tears. Up to that point we were both really in such a good mood and happy that we had bought a new car, it just ruined the whole experience. The finance guy then came back in and told us to go outside and take our new vehicle. On the way out, the owner and the finance guy stared at us, laughing because my wife was crying. read more
