We purchased an entire kitchen from them. There were issues with the range hood being too powerful to put into a cabinet, which their salesperson wasn't aware of. So after paying for a cabinet that we had to take out to put in a different range hood we also then had to research a new range on the internet. They did give us credit for the useless one. Months later my husband noticed a crack in the stovetop. it took a while but they agreed to replace it. We weren't at home when they came and after they left we noticed a chip in our countertop. when i called Chuck agreed they would pay to fix it. I had someone come out and the repair cost $350,but when i called to let Chuck know that the fix was done and that he agreed to pay I never got a call back and never saw the check. This has gone on for 4 weeks now and i have called every other day for 2 of those weeks and he didn't call me back. Now I understand these reviews when you have a girl (name starts with L) answering sales calls and she barely knows how to use the system and she just tells you over and over that she is new. But first she tells you that she has the appliance you want in stock and then talks to someone who may know what's going on and no, they actually DON'T have your appliance in stock. We had a great experience purchasing a wall oven from this store last year--until we needed a repair. When an issue arose, a technician inspected the oven and ordered two replacement boards. Two weeks later, they installed the new boards, but the problem persisted. Instead of troubleshooting further, they simply reordered the same parts per the manufacturer's recommendation. It has now been over a month since we initiated the repair (March 4th), and the latest part order--initially estimated at 4-5 days--has already taken two weeks with no clear ETA. Since this oven is in a rental unit, the extended delay is unacceptable. We purchased an extended warranty expecting timely service, but the ongoing delays and lack of resolution have been frustrating. They sell ovens that are dangerous . The Forno brand is terrible, the oven will not go below 300 degrees , to keep things warm . The knobs on the cook top get so hot you have to wear gloves to turn off . The oven cooks unevenly also . Bensons will not do anything for us so do not shop there . When my dishwasher tit's up, and we really use that dishwasher, I jumped on Yelp and began my search for a local repair shop. After calling a few places I found these guys. The lady who answered was very friendly and professional and immediately scheduled is for an appointment in two days. She informed me that the service call would be $105 and payable over the phone or at time of service, we opted for the latter. The repairman called early, the morning if the visit, and informed us that he would be here between 10-12. He arrived at 10:30, was professional and quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad pump. The part had to be ordered and would take approximately one week. The week got extended due to the hurricane, in the interim, but we got a call this morning that they were ready to come out to install the aforementioned pump. The new completed amount due would be $222 which included the initial service call. Once again the lady at the office was professional and we got a call from the technician informing us he'd be here between 1-3. He arrived at 2pm but this was a new man, his name is Jimmy Martin, who was very cordial and professional like everyone else we've encountered with this company. Jimmy went to work straight away and disassembled the unit but when testing it out found that it was still not draining but humming as before. He quickly determined that the initial diagnosis was incorrect and rather than a pump issue that the main drain was badly clogged. He removed the pump and went about removing the clogged hose, brought it outside to clear & clean, reinstalled the hose and put it all back together again and voila!! We are back in business. The final total was $165 and I'm good with that. Young Jimmy put a lot of time and effort into making certain that everything was in top working condition and in total spent well over an hour in all. He was neat and mindful & left everything in good order before presenting us with the invoice. I'd suspected a clogged hose or drain as I had removed all the drain pipes that I had access to, prior to calling for repair, as well as trying vinegar & baking soda along with a couple other YouTube solutions but was still getting no drainage, just a hum. It is now obvious after observing Jimmy that to access the culprit hose containing the clog is snaked around the back & underneath the machine that would have required considerable disassembly which I did not find in YouTube :-) But I believe I am up to the task should this happen in the future. Before retiring I might not engage in such adventure to save $105 but hey I've got lots & lots of free time & that $$ is a date night with my honey and that's worth it! The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is 1. the wrong diagnosis 2. being without a dishwasher for 2 wks 3. the added cost of a second trip that should have been accomplished on trip #1 Bottom line: I have had a very good experience with this organization who I've found thoroughly professional, friendly, affordable and honest. Just fyi- i called bensons and paid $120 for a service call on a washer dryer combo that the washer wouldn't start the spin cycle without a boost. They sent two young guys that were here 10 minutes and said it was the motor and it was shot. So we ordered a new unit for $1500 based on that recommendation. Thankfully, my husband ordered the wrong unit so i asked him to just try fixing the other one in the mean time- you tube vid and a spray of wd 40 and it's miraculously repaired- so even though I'm out the 120$ for the service call, we saved the $1500- so, i definitely do NOT recommend Bensons appliances. We went to Benson's to find a new side by side refrigerator. We found one and I sat down to place the order, after giving my name and address I was told there would be a $150 delivery and installation charge, since I only live approximately 1 1/2 miles I questioned it, the agent said she could reduce it to $100 but I refused and I walked out. 3 weeks later I was contacted by Chuck who questioned my order which was still on he's computer, I told him I wasn't going to pay any delivery charge since it's a short distance from the store, so here's how the conversation went. Chuck..did you find somewhere else that delivers for free. Me...yes I sure did. Chuck....where? Me..Home Depot. Chuck..well when it breaks down, you make sure you call Home Depot for service. I've been born and raised here and taught to always try and buy local and support the community u live in but doing this at Bensons has been a horrible decision. I bought a brand new washer and dryer in July of 22 and already have a broke washer which is only used for our household. washer broke and had to have a service call which cost 120 dollars and then to have the service tech come and be completely not helpful and give no information and was at my house for less than five min. then I called him back and he told me to call and speak with the store. last time I use Bensons and don't recommend them to anyone. so much for helping the local business read more

We have purchased expensive appliances from Chuck and his wife. By THOR. Our refrigerator's ice maker does not work, the range temperatures vary wildly and the exhaust fan has never work besides about 2 times. We've swapped out the range and the nice maker to no avail.. Benson's has now just given us a phone number to call and they say they are no longer responsible for these appliances. No one answers the phone number that gave us so we are not sure what to do. Purchased under counter ice machine for $3,000 and also purchased installation. First install team couldn't get the job done. Second "experienced" installer got the job done. One week later, not working. Repair came out and said it was a hose that was too small. Said he would order one and come back. Month later, no return. Call multiple times and told someone would call me back. Three days later, I speak to a manager who tells me it isn't covered under warranty and it would cost me an additional $189 labor and they cannot come out for more than a week. I called Bensons to repair my dryer. It would start then stop. The very nice young man that came out and diagnosed it. I needed a fuse. A few days later he came back and installed the fuse. $328. After he left it ran but squeezed and rattled . I called them back. A different man came out and found it had not been reassembled correctly. It dried the clothes but stilled rattled and squeezed as well as stoped running shortly after turning it on. I called them back , now for what would be the 4 th trip. . They said that I would have to pay for another service call because it was a different problem and has been 36 days past the last time they were here. read more

They informed me that they were not licensed to repair refrigerators in RV's. I find that totally hilarious. There is no such thing as a limited license. But ok. I have a class A RV with a residential refrigerator. I don't do well with liars. Just say you do not do them, don't lie! I am beyond disappointed First I will say the sales people are rude as hell once the sale is made . 2nd if your a condo owner be present when your appliances are delivered my oven had all the cardboard n twist ties in it after being installed by there professional installers , had it been a renter it could have been a fire . My dishwasher door is dented called to say something voice Mail. Delivery guys are rude and far from professional. I will say it took two deliveries because of a hook up issue however when calling the sales people they are saying we have been there like 4 times . Check your paper work twice . Called to tell them about the installation issues no concern . Last issue we are in the middle of a pandemic no masks worn when delivery was made . We had our washer not draining properly and had a service tech out and since the transmission was leaking it didn't make sense to put a lot of money into it, so after looking on line at Lowes and Home Depot we went to Benson's Appliance Center, best sales experience we ever had got a great deal, and the guys who delivered the washer and dryer today were very professional and just great guys they did an amazing job and flipped the door on the dryer for better access. We bought 2 complete sets of appliances for our 2 condos. Originally I was very pleased with them. But they stored the old appliances for us for the last sale and when we went to pick those up, they mysteriously disappeared. Benson's did give us another set of other appliances but all of those were not working. We had sold each of them to friends and had to pick them all up and give our friends their money back. I called to tell Bensons what happened and Chuck never called us back. All I wanted was a phone call back and an apology. I decided to shop local for my new appliances this year and based on reviews, I decided to buy them all from Benson's Appliance. I really wanted to like this company, but they made it impossible. I did hours of research through their website on several appliances I needed, talked to their sales staff and confirmed which appliances to buy. I placed the order and was informed that some of the appliances will take several weeks, not a problem. After waiting a few weeks, I contacted Benson's to find out if they had an approximate date of install yet. On that call, they told me some of the appliances I ordered won't be available for 6 months, so they said I need to order different units. Please note that THEY DID NOT CALL ME about this issue, I reached out to them only to find out I need to start my order all over again. They actually modified my entire order with different units, most of which I WOULD NOT CHOOSE for various reasons. After figuring out which units were actually available to order, I found out that most of my original choices were available! Only the refrigerator was not possible. So I stuck with most of the original units and chose another refrigerator. The first round of install was for my fridge and dishwasher. The installation for the dishwasher was a huge problem as the guy said we needed to hire someone to convert the space into a top mount since they couldn't do a side mount. So they installed the unit sticking out an inch further than it should with a dangerous bracket that was all jagged and left it like that for me to hire someone else. I hired a handyman and all he had to do was seat the dishwasher a little further in and it was a perfect fit for the side mount! There was no modification needed, the unit installed perfectly with the handyman...the Benson's guy had no idea what he was doing and I paid Benson's for the install. Now I had to wait for my washer and dryer to be installed a few weeks later. When the week of install came around, I called Benson's again asking when I may be scheduled for install. To my extreme disappointment, they told me the dryer won't be available until 2022. WHAT?! Please note AGAIN THEY DID NOT CALL ME about this issue, I had to find this out the week of my installation! So now I have to find another dryer and they had no good options available, only one that was very expensive and one that was very cheap. I was obviously frustrated at this point and the staff was so rude and condescending, watch out for Summer, she was the worst. I spoke to Chuck, the owner, and he admitted they do a bad job at following up with customers on issues like this...that was a huge problem with this company. They have so many issues, from not managing their distributors well, not knowing the availability of their products, installation scheduling problems, installation failures, and they are not proactive at all in communicating issues with customers! They never once reached out to me, I had to contact them each time. I needed another washer and dryer for another condo but at this point, I canceled the order on the original dryer and I will order my appliances from Home Depot or Lowes next time. read more
