Music was great it was an 80s playlist. They offer TVs on the treadmills with individual remotes and channel guide. Only 1 bathroom, co-Ed. No drinking fountain for now so make sure you bring your own water and towel! It's affordable, clean, inspiring quotes and photos on the wall. A basketball court. Classes. Trainers. We came (Jan 2026) for the three lane pool, capacity officially 40. I'd say more like 18, if everyone is being cooperative while sharing lanes. We came midday on a weekday, and four of us had a lane to ourselves, while four or six other people shared the other two lanes. It worked out nicely. The steam sauna was just great after a swim! We tried several times over a week for the hot tub, but they kept saying the heater would be repaired "later that day". We gave up and went to another facility. That's the only thing we didnt like, but it's really part of what we came for.

This is a huge clean facility with nice staff, clean locker rooms, lots to do, and plenty of parking. We're just ordinary people, and we felt welcome. Countless machines! Benches. Weights. "Functional training" tires. A basketball court. A room for Classes. Trainers. We came for the three lane lap-pool and the hot-tub. We came mid-afternoon on a weekday. Several others were using the luxuriously hot hot-tub, too, and four of us had a pool lane to ourselves. A few other folks used the other swim lanes occasionally. We noticed showers and drinking fountains in the pool area. They had a steam sauna in the locker-room area, too, but we didnt use it this time. We'd say either of these LA Fitness clubs were good. Just check out the difference in the sports they support.

Came to Highland rec center for the aquatic area for my daughter's birthday. We signed up for the…read moreafternoon swim that was two hours long. Now there is a lot of amenities here at the aquatic center but the two big slides in the corner are little rocky. We decided to go down the waterslides when we first got there and noticed that both have flaws. There are wasp nests underneath the slides so you do see tons of wasp flying around. The swirl slide we took moves really slow so you have to push yourself at some point to keep moving forward down the slide. People were coming down quickly after you would get off the slides they got kind of close to landing in the water by us. The straight down slide you catch air midway, especially for a little kids you kinda stopped, touching the slide at one point. Now for the smaller kid area it was perfect for my five year old. They had little slides over there and even a medium kid slide as soon as you walk up nice splash pad a lot more slow pace and relaxing. they do have lifejackets there if needed for children. They also have a café where they serve Domino's Pizza and other snacks and drink options which we did get some Gatorade's and a whole Domino's Pizza, and for the price it wasn't bad.

Iron Girl is a well thought out race over the bridge from Downtown Clearwater to Clearwater Beach. A nice amount of vendors come out and tons of positive people run the 5k. I recommend it for anyone wanting to run. This was my first and last race...not because it was a bad race, but because I had to use a port a potty. I normally would hold it until I got to a real restroom, but hydrating before the race at 4am and the race it starting until 7am...I knew I wouldn't make it over that bridge without an accident! So I now know what port o potties are like on the inside..and that there's no way to flush...there was also no place to wash hands! As a germaphobe I couldn't really concentrate on how fun the event was supposed to be because all I could think about is the hand sanitizer didn't seem strong enough to kill port o potty germs. I think the only way I'll ever do a 5k again is if I were guaranteed a real bathroom with sinks and soap. Other than that...as long as you're normal and not freaked out by port a potties like I am... The Iron Girl is a great race!
