I was asked to come back the following day to speak to a manager but I felt uncomfortable with the ask for pictures of my bust in the bra. I never went back, instead a few days later I made a post to ask if others had ever had the same experience. Less than 24 hours after the post was made, on September 7 the manager reached out to me. She advised she would review the video footage and apologized I felt uncomfortable with their policy. She assured me that she had the bra in stock and I could come in Monday for an exchange. A few hours later I miss 2 back to back calls from the manager again. (Apparently they were pocket dials). Out of politeness I called back, she was infuriated. Claiming my post had caused harassment to her employees and that this has been made into a bigger issue than it was. I apologized - for if there was truth to this claim it was not my intention. (We'll ignore her using my customer information to call me multiple times on the weekend to discuss anything other than business). With hesitation, I went in today (September 9) I thought it could go one of two ways; I'd either have no issue exchanging the item, or it would be another argument. Unfortunately, it was the argument. For once, I had little to say other than that I would be posting about my experience, and thanks for wasting my time (I never got a new bra). A whole 10 minutes of back and forth ensued with the manager and another employee. The last 5 minutes I was just insisting my information be taken out of their system. They prolonged this by walking away from the computer multiple times and trying to continue an argument. All of this humiliation over a $100 bra. I was asked multiple times for photos of my bust in the bra to determine if it was faulty. Apparently you can't see it any other way. To clarify: I am not arguing the no returns or exchanges policy (I appreciate this from a lingerie store). I am baffled by their manufacturers issues policy of taking a picture of the bra on the customers body

Blue for the ocean, white for the surf, green for the forests, gold for the Royal Charter granted in 1621, and red for the Lion Rampant as seen in the Nova Scotia crest.. Wonderful reminders of a trip to Nova Scotia and this shop is ideally located in the heart of tourist Halifax - right in Privateers Wharf. And in case plaid is not your thing, what about a beautiful Irish hand knit sweater or Scottish pottery or Burns crystal to take home? Most of the dresses there were in the $200-400 range and the quality just wasn't there. There was only really one small room with dresses. The change rooms felt larger than the dress room. Most of the dresses had very thin fabrics and it was obvious they were quickly and cheaply made factory style. Which is fine for some brides, but it wasn't what I was looking for. Other bridal shops had much better quality dresses that were in the $800 range then reduced to around $300.

While I love the high quality of the clothing sold at this store, every visit reminds me why I don't shop there more often: the horrible sales staff. I am a young woman in my mid twenties, and even though I do look younger than my age, I resent the way I am always treated like an unwanted teenage customer at this store. When shopping I usually have a pretty good idea of what I'm looking for, this shopping trip being no exception, and I appreciate being given space to browse racks and find things on my own. From the moment I walked into Samuel and Co on Friday the pushy sales woman who greeted me did not leave me alone for a second. It's very clear these ladies are working on commission by their aggressive sales style (something I find very off putting). Beyond the snobby, forceful attitude the sales woman demonstrated I was further annoyed that she didn't listen to anything I told her about what I was looking for. When she first approached me I explained I was looking for a simple, classic and mature looking dress to wear out to Valentines dinner with my boyfriend at an upscale restaurant. She proceeded to bring me a series of sequin coated skirts, see through blouses and other items of clothing much more appropriate for going to a club than a fancy dinner. Meanwhile I managed to find a few dresses I was actually interested in which she begrudgingly added to the pile of things she'd put in a dressing room for me (none of which I had any interest in trying on). I ended up buying one of the dresses I'd found myself and was very happy with the quality and look of it. Even at the cash she seemed annoyed I wasn't more interested in the items she'd suggested. Another pet peeve of mine is customer service people who talk at and not to you. While ringing my purchase through she asked a few questions about where I was going to dinner and what my plans were but when I started to answer she turned away from the counter to engage another sales associate in conversation about something. In general I was made to feel like I was a complete waste of her time. If it wasn't for the great selection of high quality brands and styles that this store offered I wouldn't bother to ever set foot in this place.

Well I was shocked, they took the dress without thinking twice, measured me right away and the dress was done within two weeks! It was perfectly done, I mean perfect!! The length was the exactly as we talked and measured. I can't begin to express the Gratitude as a Bride to have my dress fit me perfectly on one of my most important days of my life!! The Halifax location is a good sized store and is well laid out, with women's fashions on one side and men's on the other. The selection is great, and the prices are quite reasonable. The staff are friendly and are always eager to help. Over the past few months they've had many savings specials. Recently they had a Ladies night where you save 20% off everything in the store, and they frequently have monthly specials where you save $10 when you spend $50 (upon presentation of a coupon). Overall, I've been quite pleased with this store and will continue to shop there in the future for myself and for others.

They have a great deal to offer, such as flasks and bar sets, necklaces, jewellry boxes, pocket watches, photo frames, new baby gifts, wedding-related items (cake serving sets, champagne glasses, etc.) and interesting toys and knick-knacks (e.g., globes, stainless steel yo-yos, tic tac toe games, etc.). I have always found the staff to be very cheerful and knowledgeable as well. Most recently I purchased a gift for each of the girls in my wedding here. After hemming and hawing over all of my options, and probably driving the salesperson crazy, I decided to buy them each a very pretty compact mirror. The staff person, no surprise, was very friendly and we ended up getting into a long conversation about each of our upcoming nuptials. You don't find that level of friendliness at every store you go to, and to find it so consistently among different staff members each time a I visit makes it even more remarkable.

Walking in I was greeted by a woman working in which she asked me if there was something that she was able to help. I stated that this being my first time I just wanted to explore. Looking down the isles I came across some really neat and interesting items anything from pic frames, to candles to some fragrance kits, a little pricey to me but I continued on. The baby section was really nice and had something called a pee pee tee, think about that one! cute. Beautiful keep sake items for someone very special. I actually did not stay in the store long as I felt very uncomfortable with the way I was being watched. It was to the point where I just walked out of the store not feeling to great.

There is gorgeous and very different jewellery at several different rpice levels, cards, art, beautiful scarves, and she does custom framing as well. The shop has a wonderful atmosphere and the owner is quite lovely to chat with. I am rather sorry I have already finished my Christmas shopping. Take a ew mintues to go in and browse!
