I love having a place like this so close to where I live. They have a great selection of candy,…read moresauces, spices, cheese, deli meat, cookies, and so on. Most of the people who work there are some of the nicest people I've met. I usually stop in to grab the cheese pizza pretzels, the cereal marshmallows, and something from the chocolate aisle. My friend who usually goes with me loves their hot cheese cups and the sauces they have to offer. The dip mixes are great too and the baked goods on the rack towards the back are tasty! Sometimes the prices are a little higher on some things but it's a very clean store and just fun to visit.

I had been wanting to go to Old Thyme Pantry since i moved to the area and i finally got my chance…read moreover a month ago. I love trying new foods and going to mom and pops as much as i can. I will tell you that one of the most impressive things about Old Thyme Pantry is that it has an extensive candy section... two aisles worth. Moreover, the candy isn't the factory made stuff... that said the candy can be a little hit or miss. My mother did not like the sugar wafers for instance and i disliked the sea salt fudge. Yet at the same time, the orange slices were very good and the chocolate covered raisins were to die for (def better than Raisinettes!). The store also sells soup mixes, local honey, jams, jelly's and fresh meat. They also have a Deli. I bought some Deli items and again hit or miss... some of the items i didn't like but their was this chicken one that was delish. Cool store, one that looks to be owned by mennonite/amish? Definitely would be willing to give it a second try in the future... and one you should try as well.

Bowman & Landes is the best deli and market in the area…read more The quality starts with their own turkey operation, and it shows in the freshness of the meat. But it doesn't stop there. Their beef, pork, and other products are sourced from local farmers and are every bit as fresh and high quality. The deli counter is outstanding, and the cheese selection is one of the best you'll find anywhere nearby. What really sets Bowman & Landes apart, though, is the itself. The staff is consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful. Just as impressive is the cleanliness. They are constantly cleaning equipment and work areas, and the entire market is spotless every time we visit. Unlike some markets, you won't find residue or neglected prep areas here. Fresh products, excellent service, and an exceptionally clean store. Highly recommended.

There is a covered entrance that already had a line when I approached. I grabbed a shopping cart before entering and gave the necessary information for pre order pickup to the nice ladies that staffed the first counter. I was excited to see Young's Dairy (Yellow Springs) ice cream as I waited and shopped in the line. I was able to get bacon, ground round, steaks, and a nice chuck roast. There was a nice selection of rolls, pies, cakes and other items to complement a holiday feast. They were not making fresh sandwiches so I purchased roast beef, pepperoni, and Heidi Ann Swiss cheese to make sandwiches at home. After I was done shopping and about 3/4 around the line which horseshoes around the store, I was asked for my receipt that was given when I confirmed my pre order @the first counter. This person brought my boxed turkey and confirmed that 16 pounds was good with me regarding size. I was ushered to the nearest check out counter and made an easy exit. So far the only thing I've tried was the roast beef, pepperoni, and cheese. All were delicious.

At times there are lots of customers...especially when apples are coming in fresh. The team here is down to earth and very friendly. Cooks has a decent variety of apples to choose from. You can pick them yourself or buy them by the bag. They have fresh pressed apple cider if you like that. The small building has a definite country store feel. Lots of country/Amish style products to pick from. You don't have to leave the northwest side of town for Grabill if you are after those kind of goods. Stop in and give them a try!

This is a good spot to take a date or bring family/kids. For apple picking, they provide bags (have to go inside and ask for them) and the fruit picker tool is outside. You can bring your own bag for the apples and even jars for honey. When I went, McIntosh, Gala, Jonathan, and Cortland apples were in season! Inside you'll find all the cool treats where you can get seasonal bags of apples, apple cider, frozen apple cider, and so much other goodies. If you pick the apples, it's $1.25/lb. Support your local business and stop by! Employees here are so down to earth and kind.
