Very nice and peaceful place to pick up fresh apples. The outside and parking lot are simple while inviting. At times there are lots of customers...especially when apples are coming in fresh. The team here is down to earth and very friendly. Cooks has a decent variety of apples to choose from. You can pick them yourself or buy them by the bag. They have fresh pressed apple cider if you like that. The small building has a definite country store feel. Lots of country/Amish style products to pick from. You don't have to leave the northwest side of town for Grabill if you are after those kind of goods. Stop in and give them a try! read more

Getting there: parking lot is in gravel area. You can't miss it. If the lot is full, there's extra parking nearby. I went around 2PM and it wasn't too busy. This is a good spot to take a date or bring family/kids. For apple picking, they provide bags (have to go inside and ask for them) and the fruit picker tool is outside. You can bring your own bag for the apples and even jars for honey. When I went, McIntosh, Gala, Jonathan, and Cortland apples were in season! Inside you'll find all the cool treats where you can get seasonal bags of apples, apple cider, frozen apple cider, and so much other goodies. If you pick the apples, it's $1.25/lb. The little store or market is very cute and has tons of goodies in it. That being said do not take your kids. We took preschoolers along with parents and the owner scolded them multiple times. He didn't want them anywhere near the pumpkins that were all out in the grass. We did not allow them to climb on the pumpkins or really even touch them they were playing among them. He opened up the window of the house and yelled out the window at them. He never came out to talk to us or anything. He just stood at the door and yelled or opened up his window and yelled. And it wasn't a the field trip we expected. No one from the entire facility even talked to the children. They didn't try to tell them anything about the orchard or the different kinds of apples or anything. It was a terrible experience and we will not go back. read more

we stopped to-get fresh peaches, but I got them home( 3hours away) and they taste bad and are all mushy like they've been frozen or something. I can't use any of the peck I bought for $23. also. because we were traveling we wanted to walk our dog briefly on a leash and we were told we couldn't,,even though no one was around. read more

Nothing better than Cook's Orchard. Tasty apples up in here, awesome apple ciders, pies, all kinds of stuff in this little cozy farmer market shop. Apple cider is always good and fresh. Very good stuff, taste real good. They got apple pies and fruit spreads and such. They also take credit cards up in here, real good apples too! read more
