    Waiting for coffee

We are at Berea College for a Passport Youth mission retreat. This lovely place feels like home where the other chaperones and I get our morning coffee, before morning celebration. The coffee is priced really well and the staff has been really helpful and great! I strongly suggest a visit if your in the area.

Why I'd recommend Berea Coffee & Tea Co. to a friend: -Local biz -Fresh coffee (from a Cincy roaster) -Homemade cinnamon rolls -Indoor & outdoor seating

Beautiful little gem ! The ambiance reminds me of a speak easy, low soft jazz playing in the back ground it's really relaxing. Coffee is great, the service is awesome. This team really makes you feel welcomed. I highly recommend.

Saw this coffee place in the same general building as where we were staying and my friend decided that we would get up early so she could get a good cup of coffee to start off her day and I would have tea the next morning. We even got there 1/2 hour after it was supposed to open and it was still closed. Disappointing. However, when I went back later to see what was going on, I was told that the person who was supposed to open didn't even show up. To the owner's credit, he went there to open it himself just minutes supposedly after we went someplace else. No gluten free food there, but the place really seems cute and charming. The person I spoke to seemed nice, too.

BC&T occupies one shop on the small strip of stores located at College Square. Since I can throw a rock from my office and hit it with ease, I stop by at least once a week for either breakfast or a quick pick-me-up during the day. So, keep in mind that this review covers many visits over time. On its best days, the shop gives you exactly what you need with no fuss. Coffee is only as particular as your taste for different blends, of which the shelf is lined with 10-15 by the pound. They serve a wide variety of hot and espresso drinks, frappe, and blended and iced fare. So, purists and sugar bombs have an equal home here. You can similarly indulge your sweet tooth or a more full-bodied appetite with its lunch fare. This place is rarely with a wait, so customers can get in and out pretty easily. If I had to be converted by anything, it's the cinnamon roll paired with plain or iced black coffee. I rarely eat the pie but it was tasty when I have had it. Breakfast biscuit sandwiches are okay too if you don't mind a bland egg or American cheese. On its worst of days, BC&T phones in its food and, perhaps at the behest of the surly proprietor, doesn't give a damn about it. The staff charm is hit and miss sometimes. Coffee easily sits for long periods of time without being rebrewed. Given their price point, the paninis never quite get heated through and Sunchips get soggy (the bread too) if the dill spears are too juicy. So, enjoy this place for what it is: a quick place to get your fix.

My favorite place to dine when here. The counter.

Alright work ambience, but the cappuccino was less-than special and so expensive I thought it was a mistake.

Latte was excellent but $6 for a small (including add-ins) was pricey....sweet and creamy!

We will never waste our money here again. Service was awful, appetizer burned, both duck and steak were overcooked. My meal was supposed to come with asparagus that was no where to found. When I inquired about the side, I was told that the asparagus was ground up in the half dollar size polenta cake. SERIOUSLY?? Duck portion was less than 4 ounces (mostly fat). . $45 for a tiny filet. These folks are trying to play at being a real restaurant when all they're really doing is robbing people blind with sub par food and service. One person covering 5 (yes, 5 WHOLE tables). Even on an incredibly slow night service was awful. I don't know about anybody else out there, but I don't have $200 to throw away on BS restaurants. Especially disappointing on your anniversary. Let we not forget the wines, no brands listed, that tasted like watered down crap. The only reason their Facebook says 100% recommended is because they delete any reviews that say otherwise, Trust me and skip this one. Go to Carsons, Corto Limo or Guiseppes for amazing food and service. Guess I should have ordered the hamburger. Live and learn.
