When I was living here, I would order my flowers from them. Now that I am living in San Francisco, I order flowers from their on line link. The service is always excellent and now the grandchildren are running their business. I saw a display of orchids and decided to order the medium size for my girlfriend who will be retiring next week. Beretania Florist has been our family's go-to for years, and there's so many stories I could share on how this company has blessed us. We've turned to them for everything--funerals, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, birthdays, and even just because. Especially for the last minute flower-needs, they have just what we need as we're speeding in to their parking lot praying for a last-minute lei for the occasion. Fun Fact: I believe this company is now on their fourth generation of business owners. It's amazing to see a business in Hawaii thrive for that long and continue to grow and adapt to trends. Awesome service and it was all last minute on a Friday! I called ahead and within an hour I picked up our leis. They were able to help with exactly what wanted for our elopement at Magic Island. They even suggested a small simple bouquet to tie it all together. I am short so the suggested flowers theybused did bot overwhelm my look. The flowers were fresh, gorgeous, and the pikake smelled amazing!! We were able to reuse the boxes they came in and brought hem home to dry out. I called to order a funeral arrangement and spoke with June who was wonderful to work with. She took down the details of the service (it's a 2 day funeral with services on both days) and was even able to accommodate some modifications I wanted to make to the wreath I was ordering. I got a follow up call from a different woman who said that she called the mortuary to confirm the details. She told me that the date I provided was incorrect and that they would deliver on another day which she claimed the mortuary had provided to her. At first I was like agreeable because she said she called to confirm, but my gut was telling me that she was wrong. I called the mortuary who confirmed that the information I provided the first time was correct. So I called the florist back and spoke with the same woman who doubled down and said that I was still wrong. She told me that she wasn't sure if the mortuary was going to hold the flowers for the second day. I called the mortuary again who confirmed the details and said to have the florist call her to clarify. So I called the florist a 3rd time. They still doubled down and with no apology. I was seeing red at this point because as a grieving family member I shouldn't be arguing with them, and the price they were charging me was NOT WORTH the customer service I was provided, so I canceled the order. Their arrangements are beautiful, which is why I originally decided to go with them, but the level of customer service and the accountability not taken was enough for me to cancel. Please do better, and be mindful of your customers some of us are grieving too. read more

My florist, Ender, is da bomb! I called at 8AM and explained I needed a funeral floral arrangement by 10 for my uncle's inurnment at Punchbowl that morning. One of the nicest surprises is getting an unexpected delivery of flowers. I was sent a gorgeous arrangement of cymbidium orchids recently and have to say it is one of the nicest, classiest arrangements I have ever received. Of course, that might be because I love cymbidium orchids and there were 11 of them! Each orchid had it's stem put inside a little glass container with water so the arrangement and orchids still looked good a week later. The hydrangeas (I think that's what they were) along with the greenery all added to the overall effect. Even the glass container was lined with colors that added to the artistry. When I worked with clients, I ordered from Beretainia Florist when I wanted to send something special. I knew I could count on them for quality. I often ordered special New Year kodomatsu arrangements complete with the bamboo kodomatsu, pine, and orchids or white mums and they were always gorgeous. Service 4.5 stars Young lady who helped us was very patient with my elderly aunty and me as we chose our arrangements for an uncle's celebration of life. She helped us understand about what flowers would not work well since we wanted to keep them fresh for two days until the service at the cemetery (military honors). We were able to change out flowers that we preferred and that would last longer. Would have preferred the arrangements being slightly shorter because it was hard to fit in the back of our SUV. Something Beretania should think about when told we would be transporting them. Delivered on time as promised, and placed on the stands at the mortuary. Prices 4 stars Seem a little high but haven't ordered flowers in a long time so can't judge easily. What was nice is t they delivered at no charge to Hosoi Garden Mortuary since it's close by. Quality 4 to 5 stars Flowers were beautifully arranged and secured well. We had to keep them in an AC'd room so they would stay fresh. One arrangement was kept at another home with no AC. Temperatures were a little lower than normal for August so we were lucky. Arrangement in AC did ok. The other didn't do as well. Hard to balance longevity and looks! One banner has slightly crooked ribbons. I'm probably the only one who noticed, but I did notice. The small check in table arrangement was my fav. Beautiful flowers that are still going strong 4 days later. Loved the style of vase. Was able to switch out to the base of my choice so I was really pleased. Disappointed...I ordered a $200 bouquet for a HNL client close to this florist. I explained I wanted a "feminine" bouquet in pink tones: a protea, cymbidium (I assumed a stem),, pink ginger, anthuriums. They sent me a picture and when I asked if they could put a couple more anthuriums she said there would be an "up" charge. There were barely any flowers for $200. It did not look feminine. My Bad...I was in a hurry and paid them. I should have checked with another florist. I don't feel I got much for $200. Oh my goodness, This is must share story. I am absolutely impressed with this flower shop. I called that same morning that I wanted the flowers delivered to a very dear friend flying in from CA to HI. She was coming into the Sheraton. From the moment I called Sheraton who gave me 2 florists to call, to the moment I made the initial call to Beretania. When I first called and got an answer machine, they returned my all right away. From the call with Ender, to delivery what professionalism. I called Ender a few times making sure I can get things order right, then I made another call and another women answered the phone, she was even more caring about my order and promises to make sure I could feel confident that this was going to be handled today. I recently ordered a couple of leis to be sent to a close friend for his graduation. I specifically ordered the leis to be sent for delivery one day prior to his graduation ceremony. The leis arrived one day date and did not arrive for him to wear the flowers during his graduation. The flowers that did arrive did not appear fresh as promised. I requested feedback and received none. I made a formal complaint to the BBB who also sent multiple letters to Beretania Florist with no response. I am asking for a refund because the product was not delivered as promised. I also am asking for a response from the company or management. I feel that I am owed an explanation for the non- response. VERY DISSAPOINTED. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ordered a funeral arrangement. I made changes on the banner and got charged another $25 which I accepted. They misspelled the name on the banner. And while I was trying to correct that and finalize the changes, I called them repeatedly without answer. They asked me to call another line. By the time they picked up the phone, the new banner has already made. They refused to re-do. If they saw that I tried to call, they should have stopped to see what I needed !!!!! They made excuses that they need to rush out for delivery. What about me? A customer who spent all that money and did not get I wanted. Should I have the final say???? I made last minute change but I PAID FOR IT. Their price was not cheap. The arrangement did not look as pictured with fewer flowers. In fact, they find excuses for me not to take a look in person. The flowers I ordered was pretty. Was a bit inconvenient because they aren't able to deliver to Queens Hospital. I had to go to the shop and pick it up then deliver it to the hospital. It was a fiasco when I got to Queens. Had to stand in a long line, then when I finally got to the checkpoint, I was told I had to call the nurses station and wait for a staff member to come down and pick it up. Problem was I originally parked on the side hoping to run to concierge and drop it off. Had to go park the car and come back. This was Oct 2022, so not at the height of a pandemic. Was a very stressful situation. Writing this for others who may have to pick up their flowers to drop off to Queens Hospital. It would have been good to know this procedure in advance. read more

The response time was quick and personalized. I requested a local delivery to the hotel and provided general guidelines and requests. Certain flower was not available for the season, but they were able to accommodate with something very similar. The arrangement was just as expected (I did a lot of looking on their website and figuring out what I wanted). It was full, exquisite, and lasted the entire week we were in Honolulu. The delivery was as requested, it was there when we got to the hotel and the hotel even put it into our room. I highly recommend this place. While I've never had the personal opportunity to purchase or order floral arrangements to pay tribute to loved ones lost, I've heard tons of stories of how Beretania Florist aims to please. The Nakamoto founding father taught his family to provide floral perfection to the end user. As the years passed by now into the 4th generation of Nakamoto's, Beretania provides floral arrangements for ANY occasion. They have leis, cut flowers, greenery plants and the list goes on. I have been the lucky benefactor of their floral arrangements and for the new year's; for Japanese tradition, they make a beautiful "kadomatsu" arrangement. Their delivery process is to a science. The beautiful bouquet, delivered to my office required an acknowledgement of receipt by signature and phone call. That's a lot of work for one delivery I thought, but they want to make sure their arrangement gets delivered to the right person and in the quality condition when it left their doors. I have a corporate and a personal account with Beretania Florist. They are always friendly and professional, and very efficient. Definitely 5 Stars. However, I think they deserve even more than 5 Stars based on the wonderful man that does deliveries. I ordered a dozen red roses for my wife's birthday and they were beautiful. But what impressed my wife the most was the gentleman that delivered the roses. She said that he was so kind as he brought the roses to our front door and we have a very long and winding driveway. He also offered to assist her if she needed assistance carrying the roses as they were heavy and we are old :) She did not get his name but she was more excited to tell me about the wonderful guy that made the delivery than she was about receiving roses. As a small local business you would think that you would treat a loyal customer that has patronized your business for years even through the pandemic a little better. I ordered 3 arraignments for Mother's Day and only 2 were received. When I inquired about the 3rd arraignment that was not received by the recipient all I was told that it was delivered. Then they tell me that I'm treating them unfair due to their bad business when I paid money for a arraignment to be delivered to someone who did not receive it. My advice to all is to use another Floral service. Because if you're really a Small local family business you wouldn't treat loyal customers like this. They say a photo is worth a thousand words and the photo I attached just left me speechless. I literally am shocked at what $70 got me with this company. Jesus H. Christ! I mean they could've gone to Costco, bought the roses there, and shoved it in a $5 vase and it would've looked a million times better than this garbage arrangement. I understand with the shipping delivery for everything is being delayed, but at least have the courtesy to contact the customer so they could make other arraignments or change the order to meet a certain date and time. Too late in the day delivery is the same feeling as a missed day AND I still "could" be a very loyal customer since my favorite florist isn't available anymore. It is sad when your expectations are not met. We bought flowers for a funeral in Hawaii long distance from San Francisco. While our hearts are still low, we saw, in a picture as what Beretania Florists sent as their Wella Wreath. As you can see, the two do not match at all. Our cost? The total cost was over $350 dollars. I can understand how the world is in a difficult place now and we all are making due. But we responded to Beretania's "How did we do?" email. We expressed how we were disappointed, how it was sparse and how bare it looked. Not at all mean but specific to how we feel their product's quality was. We did not get any return reply, so, the only thing to do now, is to do a yelp rating review and give anybody who is looking for a florist some information and education from my experience. My husband surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of pink long stem roses for Valentine's Day! They were delivered to my office. I received a phone call that the delivery person was there and he had to be let into the building. A co-worker let him in. I appreciated the call because there have been times when I have wanted things delivered by other floral companies and there were delays or no answer so they didn't deliver the flowers. The roses were absolutely stunning, they had lush green leaves and the color was a very pretty powder pink. The baby breaths were beautiful as well. Not too many, but just the perfect amount. My husband also sent me a beautiful orchid plant which had 2 white phalaenopsis orchids, my fave! When they told me they didn't "deliver that far" I asked why they won't deliver to an address five miles away, they hung up on me. No one wants to get seriously injured at work. And NO ONE wants to get seriously injured at work the day before their birthday. My boyfriend, being the amazing guy that he is, placed an order to be delivered Friday, August 14th. Well that couldn't happen, and Beretania Florist graciously agreed to move the delivery date. To make a long story short, the delivery location had to be changed after it was already delivered. And to make matters worse, I wasn't going to be home and available until after 5 (which is past their business hours). I received a call at 6:30 because they were having trouble finding my house and a few minutes later the most gorgeous bouquet of sunflowers was hand delivered to my door.
