Was referred to the Westwood office by my dentist. He had instructed them to just extract one tooth. However, Dr. Genuth told me I needed an implant which costs an additional $2,888 plus the 3% credit card fee. This is where the problem begins. They have you pay before they do any work. So, if they cannot perform the work as anticipated getting your money back including the credit card fee is a major hassle. When my procedure was over, I asked for the $2,888 to be credited back to my credit card. I was told it would take a few days. It has been 4 days and 10 phone calls and still no credit. To make things worse I was informed the 3% credit card fee would NOT be refunded. This is illegal! When I informed the billing department, they were not aware of this and told me I was just getting a credit of $2,888. Any credit card fee that is greater than the fee the business pays is illegal. In summary be very careful that you do not get over charged. read more

My daughter needed emergency oral surgery. We chose Bergen Oral based on in-network dental coverage benefits. The oral surgeon and medical staff were extremely professional and attentive, taking excellent care of my daughter's issue. Unfortunately, the billing staff was less than helpful. After numerous calls (including with a dental insurance representative), the office and billing staff insisted that the insurance claim for the oral surgery performed could not be submitted through dental benefits. They insisted that the claim, despite being for oral surgery with various approved dental codes, could only be submitted through medical coverage, whereby the oral surgeon would be considered out-of-network. I am confident that the claim would have been covered had it been submitted via my dental insurance, especially given the procedure could only be performed by an oral surgeon, and my dental insurance provided numerous approved dental procedure codes for the emergency surgery performed. As a result of the claim being put through out-of-network medical, as opposed to in-network dental insurance, I incurred the full amount charged, and was not even given the reduced charges in accordance with the medical insurance EOB showing the amount I was responsible for. Word of advice--Before deciding on Bergen Oral, make sure you confirm your benefit coverage and are fully aware of their claim and billing process prior to being caught at the appointment in the dental chair, with no option other than to give in to what you are being told by the office staff! I am a nervous patient and waited too long to see a dentist, but friends recommended Dr. Mark Park and he did not disappoint. His bed side manner was above exceptional and his calming reconfirming presence allowed me to move forward with the much needed treatment. Unfortunately, his front desk support staff are unprofessional, rude and dismissive. I have been waiting over 6months to have his non-clinical staff update insurance and refile an estimate. After two dentists told me I needed my last wisdom tooth removed by an oral surgeon I made the appointment with Bergen Oral Surgery. I can't say enough as to how professional, courteous and friendly all the staff was. As soon as I arrived I was treated with patience and respect. Dr Francioni was likewise friendly and informed me of all I should expect. On the day of surgery I was seen at the appointed hour, the tooth was removed without fanfare, and the follow up instructions were clear and to the point. I highly recommend these people. read more

Extremely competent surgeon and staff. However, the cost of their services is outrageously high. The tooth extraction was $425.00 but the bill ballooned to $1710.00 for reasons that are not easily understood. The doctor was with me for, at the most 40 to 50 minutes. Horrible... how do you forget about your patients? My appointment was for 8:15am. Mind you... this is just for a 3 month follow up from the surgery. It literally would've taken at the most, 2 minutes. It's just a check up to make sure everything has been good since surgery. I get there, check in and tell the receptionist I'm here for just the post surgery check up. She tells me that they will be with me "shortly." In anyone's mind... how long would you expect to wait? 5 mins? 10 mins? 15 mins? How about after waiting over 45 mins, I get up and leave because I can't waste my day there. This is a dentist office, not the dmv! Here's the icing on the cake...I get a phone call at around 9:45am saying that if I'm in the area, the doctor is NOW ready for me! Really??? Isn't the doctor suppose to be ready at the time they made the appointment? It was so dumb and annoying making that appointment 3 months before because the doctor could only see me at a certain time and was there only a certain day. Go figure that 3 months later I had to waste my morning like this. Aggravating experience with Dr Chang Han. I brought my daughter in for a consultation on wisdom teeth removal. He interrupted me and my daughter, seemed to love to hear himself talk and generally took a very condescending tone. I expressed concern about anesthesia, and said that I had my wisdom teeth out under Novocain and he got confrontational about it, he said he wouldn't do it any other way, why should I torture your daughter, then turns to my daughter and says 'maybe you can come back in a year when you're not under your mother's care'. Incredibly obnoxious attitude. We'll make an appointment somewhere else. read more

I recently had the opportunity to visit Bergen Oral Surgery for my wisdom teeth extraction under the care of Dr. Park. I was so pleased with everything from start to finish. First of all, the practice has four locations throughout the Bergen county area for added convenience. The office staff was all so professional, personable and a joy to deal with. Prior to the procedure, I had a few calls with one of the billing department staff on some insurance issues and she was very responsive and helpful. I had my initial consultation in the Ridgewood office, which I found to be comfortable but nothing special. When I arrived for the actual procedure in the newly opened Hackensack office, I was really impressed with the cleanliness and new modern decor. The staff all made me feel at ease and were all very kind and welcoming. They even sent me home with a cute little reusable insulated bag that included some materials to help with the post procedure care. Now, let me not forget the star of the show.... Dr. Park himself! He is such a talented doctor and has an excellent bedside manner. He greeted me personally, made me feel comfortable and even made some jokes to try to make me feel more at ease about the procedure. The extraction was a smooth process and I was so impressed by the treatment and personal care I received. Dr. Park even personally called me the evening after the procedure to check in on how I was doing, and left me his cell phone number to call or text at any time with any issues. I was really blown away by that and to see such a level of care for his patients was a true display of the type of upstanding doctor he is. I am so fortunate to have found this practice and strongly recommend it to anyone in need of oral surgery care. Every interaction with this office in advance of my appointment was horrible. The only courteous person I dealt with was via email while discussing billing. Against my better judgement I shrugged it off and kept the appointment anyway. Upon entering I encounter, Caitlin. "Are you checking in? Not good afternoon, welcome, a smile nothing! The visit deteriorated from there, asking me several other questions in an irritated manner as if I was bothering her. "Do you have your paperwork from your dentist? My response "no my dentist faxed this directly to your office" her response, "I'm asking because I want to know if they gave you papers (now in an even nastier tone)" , "Because we didn't get any paperwork in advance I need you to fill this out(never received a request for paperwork in advance)" Hands me a clipboard while reaching over a bowl of pens and she doesn't offer a pen and shuts her window. No please, no thank you, nothing! This was a snippet of the interaction. Just Nasty!! I came here after the fact looking for reviews and viola I see more of the same. Probably should have checked here first. I handed Miss Caitlin back her paperwork and left. If they treated me this way when I was awake, I can only imagine how I would be treated under anesthesia. I'd imagine that it is a busy practice because they clearly don't value new patients as they have plenty and I was dispensable. read more

Dr. Han is consistently amazing! After multiple visits to Dr. Han for issues ranging from impacted wisdom teeth to molar extractions to dental implants, I can say with confidence that I trust him and his staff completely. Dr. Han and staff were consistently engaging and relatable while still maintaining a high level of professionalism without being condescending. I felt that Dr. Han treated me with respect and that he was genuinely concerned about my needs as a patient first and foremost. I never felt rushed and each step of every procedure was explained to me in plain yet detailed language. I knew exactly what to expect each time I came in and never once thought I was being misled. Dr. Han is also amazing with children. My young stepson with special needs had implants put in his palette (and later removed) in preparation for orthodontics. He was able not only to put my child's mind at ease, but mine and my wife's as well. That is no small feat. Before, during, and after the procedures, he was kind, compassionate, and attentive. I sent an appointment request through their website, but no one followed up with me. I called 4 days later, around 4:50pm (they close @5pm) to confirm my appointment and the lady that picked up the phone said they were closed and that I had to call back the next day. I just finished talking to a lady who doesn't know the meaning of customer service or phone etiquette. They DO NOT have the option for emergency appointments, so if you have an emergency, I don't recommend this office. I had to make a split appointment for extraction, because they can't evaluate me 1st!! Crazy, huh? I hope the service is better when I go to my appointment, since my dentist recommend them. As a son of a dentist and grandson of an oral surgeon, I have witnessed firsthand over many years the great apprehension and anticipatory jitters displayed by individuals entering a dental facility. Particularly when one is facing imminent surgery. However, from the moment you enter a Bergen Oral Surgery Office you are greeted with genuine warmth and you receive personalized attention (the antithesis holds true for the preponderance of dental offices, "Fill out these forms and take a seat and you will eventually see the doctor before nightfall") I would also be remiss, if I failed to mention how Dr. Han and his colleagues, along with all staff members provide the much needed dose of Tender Loving Care once you are positioned in the dreaded dental chair. OMG!!! I can't say enough about this practice! Dr. Diamond was SO kind with my daughter, who needed 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed. She had some pain which was expected but the quality of care is above expectations! I had another daughter who needed a tooth pulled ASAP, and were went to the Westwood location and they took her the same day!! If I could give this office -5 stars, I would. Hackensack office has the most RUDE staff working the front desk. The only reason I Why work in customer service if you lack manners? I called with my insurance information and asked when I can expect a quote. The front desk reception then told me they didn't have time to get back to me with prices and I'll have to wait until the day of my appointment. I asked politely if I can please get a call beforehand because I didn't want to drop thousands of dollars if I can go elsewhere and was fully covered. The young lady on the phone cut me off and said "I just said that. I just said that to you"... when she actually told me, she couldn't get back to me with a quote? I've worked in retail and customer service and I know what it's like to work with rude customers. All I asked was for a quote before coming in. Definitely do NOT recommend this office. read more

I am very thankful my dentist refrred me to Dr. Diamond and his office Bergen Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery when I needed a wisdom tooth extraction. Dr. Diamond was excellent and completed the procedure very quickly and efficiently and to my surprise, my tooth extraction was almost painless and probably took less than 30 minutes for the whole thing. Both before and after we discussed what medications would be good for me and he was very understanding and his staff is very nice too. His assistant gave me great advice on how to prevent swelling and pain after the procedure was done and I was at home. It was finally that time after an infection in one of my wisdom teeth to remove both of my bottom wisdoms. Yesterday Dr. Chang Han and team extracted them at 11:30am. It's the following day at 7:38am with zero pain or feeling that I even had such surgery. Pain medication is not even needed since their is simply no pain! My daughter's face was swollen from a wisdom tooth. She came home from college on Wed., and was she was seen as an emergency patient by Dr. Han in the Westwood office. Never having met him, his approach and dentist-chair, side manner instilled immediate confidence, my daughter selected to have her 4 wisdom teeth removed that day. Dr. Han explained the procedure from sedation to waking up to what to do at home. My daughter was well-prepared for what to expect and how to handle the pain and after effects of removing her wisdom teeth. Knowing that she needed to return to school on Sunday, Dr. Han saw her in his Hackensack office on Saturday and told her she was well-on the way to recovery and provided her a few more tips for cleaning and healing from the stitches. If future extractions are warranted for myself, family or friends, I would immediately, highly recommend see Dr. Han. Was recently referred to their Westwood location to get a 3rd molar extracted. Wow what a mistake, The most discourteous practice I have ever dealt with. I recently moved up in my career and got a new job. I had medical and dental coverage from day 1. However being a new hire my dental coverage did not register in the system to this provider. They had proof of my coverage but refused my procedure. When I originally scheduled the appointment the practice was aware of my situation. Now I am out of a personal day and still have not had this wisdom tooth removed. So much for the hippocratic oath, the most pushy and snooty receptionist as well. Dr. Diamond is awesome. I had to get an implant to replace a cracked tooth and I have always been afraid of dentists (bad childhood memories of my mean dentist back in the 70's). I seriously was going to ask them to put me under general anesthesia but Dr. Diamond and the dental assistants all assured me that it wouldn't hurt. They took real good care of me and the procedure went smoothly and was painless. When it was over, they made me sit for bit to make sure I was ok before they let me get in my car and leave. I was given some pain meds for later on that night but didn't even need to take them, 3 Advil's did the trick. Dr. Diamond even called me later on that night to see how I was doing. The next morning I got another call from a dental assistant making sure I was still ok - Wow, did not expect that - awesome customer service. When my kids needed to have their wisdom teeth extracted I knew where to go. They were very gentle and made my boys feel at ease. The procedures were done before they even knew what was going on and we received the same follow-up calls. I recommend this place to all of my friends. read more
