Pete and his other mechanic are skilled, responsive and easy to deal with. The garage is attached to a Lukoil gas station on route 22 E. in Scotch Plains. After getting gas last week, I noticed a small leak from the rear of my Ford Explorer. Pete and his colleague quickly determined it was antifreeze coming from the rear heating/air conditioning system. They were too busy to examine it at that moment, but told me the car was safe to drive. I brought it back a few days later and they were ready for me at the agreed-upon time. They immediately put the car on the lift, and quickly determined it was just a broken and rusted old hose clamp. They replace the broken clamp, and for good measure proactively replaced another somewhat rusty clamp before it also broke. While I was there they looked carefully at the entire underside of vehicle and did not see any other pending issues. I also got an oil change. The cost was minimal and I was in and out in less than an hour. I saw them doing a range of work, from significant engine repair and radiator replacement, to simple oil changes. I used to bring my cars to Firestone, but each visit seemed to end with a long list of additional repairs. I'd recommend choosing a highly rated local shop instead.

I told him I bought it from Goodyear and it's "like new" with a high tread. He tries to talk down to me and says "listen I'm not gonna do it but you can buy one or go to the gas station." After trying to sell me there's, they didn't have one and sent me to the gas station where I waited 2 hours for them to tell me they don't have the proper balancing machine for my car and that Firestone should know that because they usually send my type of car to them. For Gods sake if not a tire shop, where else to get your tire changed? I ended up calling triple A and having to get it towed after hours at this point. All this could have been avoided if you get your stick out your ass and dedicate 20 minutes of your time to help a person out. And by "help" I mean take my paying service. It's not a charity. Be a decent human being and not leave me stranded, it's the bare minimum. Don't trust these guys for anything. Believe me they give no shits but how to get their sales up higher.
