It wasn't until I took my vehicle elsewhere for a second opinion that I learned both rear calipers were completely inoperable and had likely contributed to the premature brake failure. Had the underlying issue been identified during the initial inspection, I could have avoided a second brake repair costing almost $700. As soon as you drive up to this place, a customer representative would come up and ask you for the kind of service you require from them. Once you tell them what you need, they then ask you to take a seat insdie their office and take your car for the service. I specifically went for an oil change at this location. Inside, they have a vending machine for some basic drinks and you could see the work being done to your car through the glass. The place is clean and well maintained, has a few seats for customers to sit and the entire process took only a few minutes so you won't be spending a lot of time indoors waiting for your car. They topped up all the fluids, did the oil change and inflated the tire to the correct level. They also cleaned the windows which was a good touch from their part. The synthetic oil change along with the labour charges cost me around $99 which was a little expensive but the prices are comparable to other similar service centers.

Of course, no appointments are necessary or available, so when I pulled up, I was required to join the very long line. It extended out into the road. That said, with four cars in front of me, it only took 45 or so minutes to finally get in. Once my car entered the bay, a very sweet young person began to help me. They didn't try to oversell me on things I didn't need and were honest about how long I could go without changing things like my air filter, wipers, etc. That is not the experience I've had at places like Jiffy Lube. Anyway, I was in and out in like 17 minutes. Everyone was super kind. Note: Many employees were not wearing masks so if that is important to you, I recommend wearing your mask in your car while your vehicle is being serviced since they talk to you through the window.

As a result, the skid plate came loose while I was driving and left me stranded on the highway. This was not a minor inconvenience. A basic part of completing the service correctly is making sure anything removed during the service is properly reinstalled and secured before the customer leaves. I should never have been put in a situation where I was stuck on the highway because something underneath my vehicle was left unsecured. I contacted Valvoline Customer Service, the store was contacted, and the manager called me. I am documenting everything, including the condition of the skid plate and the costs associated with correcting this issue. I expect Valvoline to take full responsibility for replacing the damaged skid plate and addressing any other expenses or damage caused by this incident. Mistakes can happen, but negligence that creates a safety issue on the highway is unacceptable. Customers trust a service center to return their vehicle in safe driving condition. That did not happen in my case.
