Tiger Tails had been my dog's primary vet for at least 4 years. I brought my dog to Tiger Tails…read moreafter an emergency hospital visit the night before due to vomiting and fever. The emergency hospital had given him a fever-reducing shot that was supposed to last 24 hours. When we arrived at Tiger Tails first thing the next morning, we clearly told the staff and doctor about this and that it had only been 12 hours since it was given. The doctor took his temperature, did a quick checkup, and said he was fine -- then sent us home. We had pleaded that it was strange he wasn't eating or drinking and he was vomiting with hints of blood, but she kept insisting that he may have just ate something bad or just elder dog symptoms. Just 13 hours later, my dog passed away. I trusted Tiger Tails to take our concerns seriously and to monitor him properly after everything he had been through, but I feel that they dismissed his condition too easily. I am heartbroken and will never forget how this was handled. Please be cautious and make sure your pet gets the thorough care they deserve.

Very early on she started developing a cough and then wheezing, and then runny nose and I was so concerned I couldn't wait two more days for my already scheduled vet apt with another place. I called Tiger tails as soon as they opened this morning and I spoke with Jordan, and she was so unbelievably kind and helpful. She worked her butt off to get us in as early as possible, and even called me back twice to offer two earlier times, which we took. As soon as we got there we were greeted with super friendly staff. They led us to our excluded room (because of the cough) and every single vet tech and vet that came in was amazing. They were so gentle and loving to my baby, and explained everything they were doing. She did a thorough examination, asked questions, and determined it was kennel cough and sent me off with two different meds. I am a pretty anxious person when it comes to illnesses, especially since this is my first dog I personally own, but they were so welcoming and understanding, putting me at ease. I am SO glad I ended up going here, and will be going back for all her future shots/check ups. Thank you to the entire staff that helped me and my baby today!!

Not a Happy Customer…read more. Dropped my cat off for a teeth cleaning procedure. Got a call in the afternoon that he needed teeth pulled which added to the cost of the cleaning. $70 per tooth from the $275. I come by to pick him up in the afternoon. They give me my now 500 dollar bill...but whatever it is for my cat. As long he was treated well then it okay...well he was not treated well, being sent home with blood all over his foot, cat litter caked deep into his fur that it needed to be remove with scissors (Tail and rear area) and the cat carrier is covered in cat litter as well. The bear minimum they could have done is communicate that they cut his nails to bleeding. When I called back to ask them what the hell happened. They said they wouldn't let them clean him? And that he woke up and injuried his nail on the cage? First off the cat is under drugs and can bearly stand up let alone fight back... I mean how can you handle a small cat.. Second anytime something blood related not to deal with procedure itself should at least be communicated. So I call back and they say they are sorry and if there is anything they could do to make me feel better. Look it isn't about me feeling better, it is about my cat not able to stand on his foot like it is broken from being mishandled AND them not even telling me about it. I will be taking my cat elsewhere as I cannot trust them with the quality of care they provide. 100% look elsewhere.

This is a wonderful place to bring your pets. I have never felt like a place had cared more about…read moremy dogs than Ivy Hill. My husband brought my 9 year old chihuahua in for a check up, and she had protein in her urine. Enough that it was a point of concern for the veterinarian. When the labs were returned, the vet called me at 830am to discuss the findings. After speaking for almost half an hour, the vet was still not done explaining the condition of my dog and the care plan we needed to follow. She excused herself saying that she needed to prepare for her day and that she would call me again after she was done to finish the conversation. I am thinking to expect her call around 5 because that's when most offices close. When I never got a return call around that time, I just assumed she would call me back the next day or something. I really wasn't all that worried because we were discussing an existing condition for my dog. I get a phone call past 9pm!! I feel terrible for this lady. She has clearly been working for over 12 hours, and she is still taking the time to call me as she had promised. That is absolute dedication! It's definitely nice to feel like we are cared about.

I have one concern: Ivy Hill Animal Hospital does not seem to want to take dogs with special needs,…read morelarger breeds, or ones that are lab/boxer/pit mix. On my first visit there years ago, I was working for a company that delivers to their place. Back then, they were hesitant to accept my dog, but (I believe) that because I saw them most days for business, they allowed it. I haven't been back to the office in a few years and have since loss rapport with them. I was told today (April 2024) that since my dog requires sedatives prior to his annual shots (just like he did on my last visit there), and because they "haven't seen him," they will not allow him to ever be seen at the office. I asked, "Is this true even if he was a patient a few years ago (because he was seen there before)" The reply was, "yes." After, the receptionist quickly got me off the phone by referring me to "Urgent Vet." When asking for their phone number, I was told, "You can find that on your own at their website." In summary, Ivy Hill Animal Hospital has a clean location, and when they know you, the staff seem kind. But any veterinary clinic that is unwilling to work with a particular dog breed or dogs with special needs, is not one worthy of a good review.
