I have called three times and am on hold so long I must hang up (12-15 minutes on hold before hanging up.) I've had to drive up to the office in the past just to get through to someone. Call today...waited 15 minutes on phone before being disconnected. Call back again..finally speak with someone that has reached out to my provider just as they have done through the app. Great...wait...wait...wait and hope it gets fixed. Very frustrating. Trying to take charge of my health but jumping through hoops to fix their problem to help me. I've tried leaving a message for the doctor and the person on the phone refused. Tried through social media...crickets. Tried again through the app...crickets. Seems like they've gotten too big. Any recommendations for a new doc in the area?

This isn't a flashy office, this is an office for working folks. Its affordable and the doctors are knowledgeable. I have been going to Northwood Physicians for many years and have never been dissatisfied with either the staff or the doctors. When I had pneumonia in high school, I went to two other doctors' offices and an emergency care facility on Dequindre Road and was misdiagnosed by all of them. It wasn't until my parents took me to Northwood that I was properly diagnosed with pneumonia and given the proper antibiotics to recover. Dr. Pawlowski listens and takes your narrative to heart. And the staff are always friendly to me. Of course every office overbooks patients, because they need to meet a certain profit quota each day to stay in business. But that's just the reality of living with a FOR-PROFIT healthcare system. I've never had a problem here and I feel like the staff really do care. ----------- One tip I would recommend for anyone seeing any doctor is to take the time to explain your condition. If the doctor tries to cut you off, keep going, the more they know, the more accurate of a diagnosis you will receive. Another tip, don't look for a doctor on Yelp people. This is your health! Take some time and do some real research. Half the people on yelp have a very different opinion from me on what constitutes a good experience with a business so why would I trust them on medical care?

Ohhhh.....where to start…read more I know Yelp isn't the first place people go for physician referrals but I am so unhappy with this office I just had to write something. If I can prevent at least one person from going here I'll feel like I have done some good. First I would like to say that Dr. Pawlowski is very good. I have never had a problem with him. He always took the time to listen to me talk about my problems and he always explained the diagnosis and treatment very well. However.......my biggest problem with the office was the staff. My last two visits totaled about 5 hours. The most complicated things that happened during these visits were blood draws and X-rays. One time the "nurse" couldn't find a vein (I don't have chubby arms. A vein shouldn't be hard to find) and another the X-ray "tech" had to take some X-rays over because he forgot to put slides in the machine. During my 3 hour visit I also got to watch someone's pre-teen child help mommy try to find someones lost records. I don't know if they were ever found and no it wasn't bring you daughter to work day. Not confidence builders. Since trying to switch doctors having my records copied and sent to my new doctor has taken so long I had to finally go pick them up myself. Even though I filled out the paperwork almost three weeks before my appointment they couldn't find the time to copy and send them. It took them one week to process the request and another to send me a letter requesting a $20 co-pay to copy the records. They did however manage to send copies of my blood work to another doctor when asked to send over everything BACK related. I never felt like my time was respected. There was always a sort of "We'll get to it when we get to it." attitude in the office and the stacks and stacks of records behind and around the desk just look bad. If my Vet's office was run like this office I would never go back. I don't know why I put up with it for over 3 years. With unemployment so high I don't know why more competent people or just more people can't be hired to run this place right. Dr. Pawlowski is doing his patients a disservice by allowing this to continue. I feel better now after venting since I wasn't able to fully complain to the "lady" who runs the office because she hung up on me.

She is not very understanding about how he cannot come in person to see her during the pandemic because it is too risky for him to leave the house, and needs telemedicine appointments only. She threatens to not renew his medications unless he sees her in person. She is not very understanding with the elderly, especially during the pandemic. When he had his first appointment with her years ago, she noticed his difficulty with walking, and said that she has patients older than him who walk better. What a cruel thing to say! I called for an appointment yesterday, and she was willing to come into the office early to address a respiratory illness that hasn't been clearing up. She was very kind, intuitive, and agreed that an aggressive treatment plan was the best thing for me. I was able to get my exam, chest x-ray, breathing treatment, steroid shots, and lab work done in the same building within an hour. You don't see that much in a healthcare setting anymore. The office staff was also friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

During my first appointment with Marna Taylor, she ordered bloodwork, prescribed medication for the oral thrush, and recommended physical therapy. I also mentioned concerns about acne, and she told me it was completely normal for my age and that I was probably perimenopausal. At my second appointment, I explained that the medication for my tongue had not worked. She prescribed a higher dose of the same medication. I also mentioned that physical therapy was not covered by my insurance and that I had researched the possibility of a gluten reaction. She agreed that sounded plausible. The appointment then shifted into a discussion about my health insurance premiums and coverage. I explained that I had marketplace insurance at the time because I was a freelance writer, and that I was comfortable with my monthly premium and willing to pay out of pocket if needed. Despite that, she told me she could not order additional thyroid bloodwork unless I personally called my insurance company, gathered all the billing codes, and found the prices for each test. She then ended the appointment, saying I was late, even though I had arrived on time. On the drive home, I realized she had never even reviewed my bloodwork results with me, which was the main reason for the visit. When I later checked the portal myself, I saw abnormal levels. When I went to refill the prescription she had given me, the pharmacist pulled me aside and said he was concerned it may have been prescribed incorrectly because the dosage was extremely high and aggressive. He advised me to call and confirm it. At that point, I decided not to continue care here. I later paid out of pocket for bloodwork from Function Health, which showed significant thyroid issues. I then found a new doctor who told me it was preposterous to suggest I was likely perimenopausal at 34 without proper evaluation, and I have since been receiving treatment for my thyroid condition. This experience felt dismissive, unhelpful, and poorly managed. I would not recommend wasting your time or money here.
