We started taking our 2 cats starting in 2010, we met Palmer. He was the most compassionate and the most educated vet. He took such excellent care of our cats. Working with Berlin Animal Hospital has been a nightmare, I wouldn't recommend this animal hospital to anyone who cares about their pet. They do not give prompt attention, their time always more valuable than my own, and the prices are ridiculous. Horrible attitude, took forever to return calls, please do your research before entrusting your pet to these people. read more

I've been going to Berlin Animal Hospital for about 7 years with various different dogs. More recently, for the past three and a half years I've been seeing Dr. Palmer for my English Bulldog and he is great. Very professional and good judgment. The reason for the two star rating is due to the office staff. They are very unreliable and their communication is horrendous. I'm sad to switch to a new Veterinarian but I've had enough of this office. My "last straw" with this office occurred on 10/1. I called the office to find out how much melatonin I should be giving my 45lb dog for 1x a day. I called at 4:55pm (their office closes at 5, I was pleasantly surprised they answered the phone). Once I asked the question they told me that they would check for me and be right back. I was put on hold for a few moments before someone else comes on the phone and says that they will be right with me. About a minute after, the phone hangs up... Of course when this happened it was past 5pm (5:02 to be exact) and when I called back I got the recording and couldn't reach the office staff again. This was just one of many inconveniences I've had with this office and it isn't acceptable for me. I bring my Golden Retriever puppy to Banfield Pet Hospital and so far their office staff beats Berlin's by a long shot. read more

We have been going to Berlin Animal Hospital for several years and our dogs have received excellent treatment. Recently, our younger dog had to visit another hospital due to an emergency and received a dire diagnosis, with a recommendation for euthanization. We went to see Dr. Megee at Berlin Hospital and she was able to provide the medical treatment to help our dog, and he was bouncing back within days. We are extremely thankful to Dr. Megee and Berlin Animal Hospital for giving us hopefully many, many more years with our sweet, loving dog. Would highly recommend! read more

the service from one of the check in ladies was absolutely horrendous. It is time of the COVID-19 and times are stressful, but its our dog that is in your care. She comes out practically ignoring that my dog is sitting next to her. My dog is a girl and it says it on the report, she comes out calling her a him, good boy, he, it makes you think did she even read what was on the paper....? This nurse was honestly terrible.. it made me want to take my dogs leash right out from her hands and walk her in there myself. That was the worst experience we have ever had. I wish i had a name but she never even told us. read more

this practice does not have a clue - i took my pet in after experiencing seizures that he never had in his life - the doctor (who needs to invest a few dollars in bath soap and under arm spray) said no big deal - just let him know if they return and increase in numbers or duration - 3 weeks later my pet was dead - cancer - busted splien full of blood - took my pet to salisbury emergency hospital for surgery - the remove the splein - found the cancer was over 75% death rate and i took my sick pet home to die - im still pissed at this practice - we may have been able to do more if this practice was competent and treated my pet with more care and professionally - if you love your pet - take it somewhere else read more

Dr. Palmer and his staff are amazing. They have been treating my 4.5 month old Morkie and I have to say they are great with him! They first saw him for a medical emergency that was life threatening and due to their fast and excellent care they saved his life! I doubt he would get better care anywhere else. They are quick to answer questions when I call and are kind and gentle with him! He absolutely loves everyone there. Keep up the great job! read more

Extremely poor customer service! I needed to see Dr Palmer for OFA X-rays. An appointment had been made at the agreed upon time in May. I arrived at the designated time only to be told that Dr Palmer was away and I would be seeing another veterinarian. Than I was told the veterinarian I would see didn't do the OFA X-rays that I needed!! I asked for an explanation and was told that all of the customers who needed to see Dr Palmer had been called and had been rescheduled. I had not been called to reschedule because the letters OFA were not next to my name, and the office staff thought it would be fine to see another veterinarian. I asked why OFA was not next to my name, (because I had explicitly made the appointment to have OFA X-rays completed), I was given the excuse "I'm new, I didn't know I had to do that ". Than the immature receptionist preceded to argue with me when I suggested she be better trained at her position, and understand how to schedule paying customers,---she argued that she had not received the proper training and it was not her fault. I asked to speak to the office manager and was told she was away. The other receptionist, also needs to learn how to speak to customers with respect, and be more willing to take responsibility, since she reported she called all of the customers who needed to be rescheduled and I was not one of them. I had taken a day off from work, and had driven over 2 hours to see the doctor, over 105 miles to see Dr Palmer. read more
