My dog has been having some skin issues. All vets both near my primary home and vacation home were backed up. I was able to have an online chat via pet insurance that gave me some ideas of what the issue could be. Then, the light bulb went off while reading reviews. I decided to try grooming to see if it could sooth his skin. I was a little hesitant as there were no recent reviews but I needed to try something and fast. I had a conversation with Patti over the phone and she was really patient in listening to my concerns. She was able to take us the next day and gave my boy a soothing medicated bath. I never write reviews on here, so when I do.. It's because I need to let the public know something! First of all, Patti is a wonderful woman. She truly loves animals and you can tell as soon as you meet her. I have a temperamental Pomeranian mix, and he lets her groom him efficiently without issues. What is most remarkable about Patti is the care and affection she gives your pet. Not only did she trim my pom's feet for free on a nail-clipping only trip, but gave my chihuahua a mini-reikiki session because she is in congestive heart failure. Patti thought it necessary to give her a little extra love. Would you receive such service at a chain store? Absolutely not. The facilities may not be as conventional as others, but Patti has always done a wonderful job and her customer service is incredible. Best groomer i have ever been to I have a mid size, double coat dog. Most groomers won't even clip them, because their skin can get sunburned. What you have to do is clip them so there is like 1-2" of hair left. This requires a special blade. Not a blade with a guard, and actual thicker blade. The cut was even and it probably took them forever. My dog also had fleas. His coat had been so think, i couldn't get the drops onto his skin. They gave him 2 flea dips. The last one, they said you could just see the fleas dropping off him. They then bathed him and raked out all his wooly hair and dead skin. Blow him dry. Clipped his nails. He was like a puppy when i went to pick him up. It made his summer so much better and cooler I'll take him there the beginning of each summer from now on Plus, they are more affordable than most places 5/5 stars read more

I'm not sure why the good reviews for Ruff Cuts are hidden, particularly mine, which I posted back in 2009. Since 2009 I had been taking my son's lab to Ruff Cuts fairly frequently to be bathed, nails clipped, and in warm weather, have her shaved. I never experienced any problems with the service. While the interior of my house was being remodeled, I took advantage of her day care service to leave the dog while workmen were in the house. My dog always seemed to look forward to going there. I now have a Bichon Frise and have been taking him to Ruff Cuts for baths, hair trims, and nail clipping. There has never been a problem and she has been so helpful. As I pointed out in my first account, the place isn't fancy, but there is a lot of caring and concern for the animals in her care. I wouldn't hesitate to take my pet to her. read more

Super friendly. Great value. Our dog did not seem traumatized by the process. Owner is very friendly and loves dogs. Haircut was a little short for our liking, but I blame it on our lack of specificity. I think she would've done whatever we had asked her to. We pay twice as much in the DC area. read more

WTF - called earlier in the week, said no appointment was necessary just come in between 10 and noon. Showed up today at 10:30, nights out and doors locked. Waited 15 minutes and no one showed. No way to run a business. read more

This place was awful filthy. Dog pee everywhere. The lady was nice but cut my dog while cutting her nails. The equipment looked like it hadn't been clean ever. She didn't even wipe up my dogs blood. I was mortified by the place. read more

This place was filthy and I was worried about leaving my dog. My dog was given an awful haircut and a few days later was covered in hot spots. I had to take her to the vet and was told that they were caused by unsanitary clippers. I will NEVER take my dog here again! read more

I took my maltese here to be groomed. I was referred by a neighbor. When I was there she asked for numbers where I could be reached and I gave her home and cell. I got the call that she was done and when I went to pick her up the owner told me that my dog had a scratch on her tummy so she opened it up, cleaned it out and put glue on it. My dog was brushed by me before we left our house and her stomach had no scratch. The woman blamed it on her maybe scratching it on a stick outside. The owner cut her stomach obviously, and took it upon herself to treat it and never called me to come get her to take her to the vet. I'm so angry and feel so sorry for my dog. She shook for 4 days and the night of the "surgery" she through up 5 times in a row. I took her to the vet. and they did bloodwork and gave her a shot to settle her stomach so the vomiting would end. I'm really shocked that this person is in business. She told me she performs other veterinary procedures on animals so people that can't afford a vet can come to her. Her name is Patti and she is the owner and groomer. I just hope I can keep at least one animal from going to this groomer so they don't go through what my little dog endured. read more
