Recently, my family encountered some issues with a move from one unit to another larger unit. I sent an email to the Community Director, Renatta Hamilton, outlining my concerns. Within 30 minutes of sending the email, she had scheduled a meeting with herself, the Executive Director, Pierre Chism, and the Maintenance Director, Khalif Smith. The meeting was awesome; I was immediately comforted by the concerned and caring response as well as the plan of action that was outlined and agreed to. Within 24 hours, 90% of the needs had been addressed, and the remaining 10% is being handled now. No matter how beautiful a place may be, to me it means nothing if your experience is tainted by inadequate management or unpleasant attitudes from staff. Dunwoody Pines has obviously put their emphasis on treating their residents with respect and dignity and grace.

There is never an actual plan of care (services to be rendered.). Only increases in cost with absolutely no explanation of what you are paying for. There is far too much alcohol usage. That behavior is highly contraindicated for senior medications and totally inappropriate for the staff that are responsible for your family. America's greatest generation deserves better as do their families.

My 93 year old mother has private duty care because the staff contact is lacking. There doesn't seem to be much administrative oversight and the inmates(staff) seem to be running the asylum. I wish I could recommend this place, but for the cost I suggest you keep looking. Also, there is one resident that has been harassing my Mom's CNAs in the dining room and in the parking lot without any intervention by the staff or administration. Today my mother waited one and a half hours for her meal to be served to her table , even though she was one of the 1st people seated in the dining room. I could go on and on , but I think you get the idea.
