Went into Bernice's for coffee and lunch. Their Avocado Pepper Jack sandwich was very, very, yummy. The sprouts and dill spread made it all very gourmet. The coffee was very strong, the way I like. Only issue was that the salads I had fell just a little short of amazing. The Black Eyed Pea and Cilantro salad would have been really good, but unfortunately the beans were kinda hard. The Potato Salad didn't have the conventional mayo-based dressing, but a light vinegar-based one which was actually very tasty. It might have been a bit plain. I like my veggies. I really wish I had tried their desserts and muffins, though, because they looked delicious! I've also heard their cakes are amazing, but I can only rate what I did have. I also very much liked the place itself. It has a lot of quirky charm. A huge plus was all the free Missoula publications and postings at the bulletin board. I live nearby so I stop in a lot. It's usually crowded and noisy, so I don't stay. I love just about every dessert they have. I've ordered cakes for parties and special occasions and they were wonderful. The cakes are always decorated perfectly. My absolute favorite are the sugar cookies. Pricey for a cookie but oh, so good. Anything with their butter cream frosting is hard to complain about. Highly recommend the butter cream frosting! Okay the bomb xxxxoooo. I am road trippin with the fam .mommy does not like fast flood so I walked in and was delighted strong yummy iced. Coffee scones to die for my lttles loved the brownies and I had a gorgeous salad later I love food that makes you. Feel. We selected Bernice's Bakery as our dessert vendor for our wedding on July 7th, 2012. Christine was absolutely incredible to work with!!! We had a 4 tier wedding cake, 100 cupcakes designed to look like ice cream sundaes, 4 pies, and a groom's cake designed to look like a cheeseburger. Everyone raved about the look and taste of our desserts. I was absolutely dazzled by how wonderful everything turned out. I live in CA and worked through email and phone calls to plan everything for the wedding. Christine did an amazing job of making my ideas into reality. We went to an impromptu birthday party at Kawanis Park for an adult friend with my 2 year old who is allergic to peanuts and eggs. She never gets to eat birthday cake (unless it's her birthday and we then make a safe cake for her at home) so I packed a substitute cupcake for her. When we arrived, my friend tells me that she ordered a vegan, peanut free cake. It was a vegan chocolate cake with raspberry filling and vegan buttercream frosting. I called Bernice's immediately to double check on the cake. The lady on the phone reminds me that all their products are made on shared equipment. That said, this particular vegan cake and vegan frosting was safe for eggs and peanuts. You have no idea how much it meant to us that my daughter could be included in something as simple as birthday cake. At this age, she recently learned and loves singing happy birthday and blowing out candles. In addition, it was likely the best vegan cake I've ever eaten. Super moist and delicious. Thank you, Bernice's. You have no idea how much of a treat it was for us to share this with our daughter. It's the first time she's ever eaten anything from a bakery.
