First of all Bernie only accepts cash! IRS problem, must be avoiding paying his taxes!! I ordered $4000.00 worth of furniture. Bernie shows up missing one nightstand, which Big Lots emailed me it was on the receipt, as having been picked up. Bernie delivery Changed cost of delivery, from initial price given to me by Bernie., when they arrived, asking me for $50.00 more to take nightstand out of box!!! I asked them, let me call Big lots because you left a nightstand in the store. The cost to pick up, nightstand which was part of original delivery charge, would be 125.00 + $50.00 to assemble, which is basically taking it out of the box. The cost was more than the nightstand! As I discussed issue with mgr., at Big LOTS They walked out and said we Refuse to assemble anything!!! Left my furniture in boxes! All over the place!! I asked them please! I'm a single woman relocating from S. Florida who lost her husband to a 911 Cancer, was diagnosed after we bought our dream condo on the ocean, after retirement from NYPD Didn't care! Walked out! Now I have boxes and boxes all over no assembly! I paid them 475.00 delivery and assembly. Left me in a lurch!!! I called Bernie, no response!! Beware, they are scammers!! Cash only??? I'm reporting Bernie to the IRS!!! I pay tax on my properties, sales tax, tax on almost everything!! I'm beyond pissed with this delivery company..communication is the key and in my experience, it fell thru the cracks BIG TIME!!! who sets a delivery time for lunch time and at 8:06pm, still has not delivered your item; please make it make sense.. no call to the customer to say there is a delay, I had to call to find out where my item was at (still at the store). this issue lands more on the employer than the delivery person due to them trying to get out more deliveries than can be handle.. final result is that I cancelled the delivery (guys lost out on a tip) and a world of frustratio.. i hired bernies thru big lots in west babylon,ny..they had to move and deliver a huge sofa to my home in oceanside..i am a bit crotchety. a 72 year old man with a brain tumor.. bernies had "sal', and steve" deliver my sofa. they were on time.they were professional. they did not cause any damage. they assembled my sofa perfectly. they moved everything back to its original location. they were kind, and caring..we need more people like sal and steve..thanks again to bernies... respectfully, SHELBY read more

I purchased a love seat in Big Lots on Thursday and it was in my home by Monday. I had a terrific experience with everyone at Bernie's Delivery Service. I was given a time frame of 11am - 1pm. By 11:30 they were done. Steve and Jaron were extremely pleasant and respectful of the property. read more

I got his num from big lots but had to move an item from another store to my apartment. He did a great job and the delivery guys were very efficient and quick. If I ever need help again, I'm definitely calling! read more

I have to admit that I was a bit nervous that I had already scheduled to have furniture delivered from Big Lots by Bernie Delivery Service after reading the one review posted here. Let me say that I had the complete opposite experience with Bernie. We had clear communication via text and voice calls throughout the entire process. Not only did Bernie keep me informed of the delivery, but the driver also called to give an estimated time of arrival. In fact, they apologized for running late. However, it was only about 20 minutes later than expected and in addition they called when leaving the last delivery site. So I was well informed about the time frame of when to expect them to arrive. Living in an apartment building built in 1938 made it difficult to find a sofa that wasn't too large to either get into the elevator or carry up six flights of stairs. Unfortunately my first sofa purchase did not fit with either choice. So it had to be returned to Big Lots which was also easy because Big Lots gave the refund knowing Bernie would return it the next day. Henry, one of the delivery guys, told us we could return to Big Lots that evening (it was Sunday) to get a refund or to do an exchange. He was kind enough to look at other sofas on the Big Lots website to help us to determine what might fit into the building before we went to the store. He did not have to do this and it was greatly appreciated. Both delivery guys were friendly and efficient getting the furniture into the apartment and assembled. They had a good sense of humor and pleasant to work with. I would not have any hesitation using Bernie again, neither should you as long as you keep the communications honest and open between you. read more

AVOID this delivery service at all costs. They are the hired delivery service for furniture purchased at Big Lots Long Island. Delivery man repeatedly said that he takes ONLY CASH $85.00 to deliver a full size mattress, box spring and bed frame. As per Big Lots we called him immediately after making our purchase and had to leave a message on his cell phone. He did not call back until the next day telling us the delivery would be later that day or the next day (a Friday) and he would let us know. Waited until Friday but had not heard anything from him so again we had to call him. He said he would have to call us right back and he did after about 20 minutes. He said we will have your delivery this afternoon. I asked for a time window which he said would be 12-2 because I had a Dr. appt. scheduled for 3:00 so I agreed to this time. It is now 3:05, missed my Dr appointment and he is still NOT HERE and has NOT CALLED. Note they showed up at 5:30 !!!! This service is a 1 out of 10, AVOID IT ! read more

Initially Big Lots gave me the number to a delivery service named Kevin Kernes Quality... (RUDE!!!! He didn't even get back to me on a time for delivery. He seemed bothered with my business so I looked further for an alternative. Apparently he is kin to a higher up at big lots and has monopolized the business through family seniority. NOT QUALITY!!!!!) HOWEVER, These guys were great. They were friendly and on time. They removed my old sectional without question and took it to the curb before bringing in and assembling my new sectional. The fee was more than fair and I tipped them 30%.
