I discovered the flavor through a "cake box" and have been going back for the flavor ever since. Behind birthday cake, the cupcakes are always fresh and moist, with generous amounts of frosting and fillings (as a good cupcake should be). With the exception of the chocolate frosting, which is more of a sticky ganache (in the best way), the frosting tends to be a buttercream consistency. The workers are always kind and knowledgeable of the flavors. Beyond the basic monthly flavors, they rotate monthly flavors and usually have even more flavors from the cake box and slice section.

Review: Since the new owners took over it a couple of years ago and changed its name from Baker's Kitchen to Baker's Kitchen by Alvina (a misspelled play on "vanilla, as they told me), it's devolved into a mostly- empty store with hit-or-miss availability of even the basics. No more professional grade baking pans, no professional fondant or gum paste tools. You may as well go to Michael's or AC Moore. Same stock, and at least you can use a 40 or 50% off coupon for the same low-quality merchandise you'll find at Baker's Kitchen by Alvina. The same dried up sugar-paste flowers are still sitting in the display case. Prices have gotten higher. Selection has reduced to nearly none. Luckily, there is another bakery supply shop in town. It used to be smaller than Baker's Kitchen, but now is much better stocked, albeit with pretty basic supplies. I'll shop there for the common supplies, and shop online for harder-to find-locally specialty supplies I used to buy at the old Baker's Kitchen. Edit: the owner sent a private message via Yelp.
