The owner is really responsive, very creative, and has made themed cakes for us from anything for 10 people to 50, each of them turning out beautifully, and tasting amazing. We have not had a single birthday party where several people have asked where the cake/cupcakes came from..... and we order bigger cakes now so everyone can take a little home. They are THAT good. They keep ready-made cakes for last minute needs as well, in all sizes. And some lovely cupcakes in different flavors - strawberry, honeydew, vanilla, lemon, red velvet - you name it. The texture is different, so if you are looking for traditional airy box-style cake mix flavor, then go elsewhere. These cakes are a little heavier in texture, but less sweet, and definitely worth the price! Eunice is a wonderful baker. And a piano teacher! This bakery is a hidden gem right in plain sight on Midlothian Tpke. I can't believe that I just discovered it. The owner/baker was wonderfully accommodating, because I placed my order the night before I needed the cake that I purchased. I purchased a 9" cake for a friend's birthday. I initially thought that the cake was a bit expensive, but that thought completely disappeared when I tasted it! I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best cake I've ever had as an adult! Based on the friend's personal preferences, the cake was a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I am normally a chocolate person. I typically push aside a cake if not chocolate and just eat the frosting. Not with this cake! The cake was incredibly moist, and the frosting was scrumptious. Many cakes have frosting that is overly sweet. Not this cake. It had just enough sweetness, perfect if you prefer dark chocolate that is not too sweet. So all in all, it was a perfect cake! We found this place on a whim. We were coming from Kabuto's and bam there was this place. We were like wooooowwww! Then we were like what are European cupcakes? The owner is extremely personable and friendly. We had never had these type of cupcakes or cakes before. But boy oh boy they did not disappoint. These are not typical "American" cupcakes like cake like with whipped icing or frosting. The texture is different and the icing reminded me of a whipped icing but lighter. It's gives you enough flavor to taste the cupcake and the icing. The icing doesn't override the cupcake. If you're anything like me and don't like cupcakes because of icing, these are for you. We got the cotton candy, red velvet, cookies & cream, a vegan vanilla and a vanilla bean slice of cake. I was extremely pleased with the vegan cupcake and the taste of all of the cupcakes. P.S. If I was able to choose no stars I would. My boyfriend was looking for a strawberry shortcake and was told by this "bakery" said that they can make something similar. I think they just didn't know what this cake really was. For those aren't familiar, Strawberry shortcake is typically made with a biscuit-like cake that is split and filled with STRAWBERRIES (actual fruit) and sweetened whipped cream. We received a vanilla cake with strawberry flavored cream. It's was very disappointing, we were assured it was similar and it was nothing like we needed. Bottom line, we feel cheated by this bakery!! My only complaint is that even though she noted the spelling of my son's name and that the cake was for his 6th birthday, there was no writing on the cake. Our Pink Belle cupcakes and cake were the stars of our bridal shower! Eunice did a great job helping us select flavors to fit our Southwestern fiesta theme. We had lime, lemon, mango, orange, strawberry, guava, and chocolate. Everyone RAVED over the cupcakes and they were just so beautifully iced and decorated! We later dug into the lemon cake and what a lovely surprise! Just the right touch of lemon and the cake was incredibly moist. There is lots of icing, but it isn't heavy at all - it's just delicate and creamy. Perfect! Can't wait to go back when I'm in town and spend some time in the cafe and hope to hear some beautiful piano music. I love the way the shop mixes the owners love of music and desserts. Amy bought a two tier vanilla cake for the in-laws 45 year anniversary. Pink Belle did a great job of decorating the outside and the taste was amazing.. My wife even put an edible picture of John and Sue on their wedding day. I especially loved the icing and In the center of the cake.. We liked it so much that I went back on Friday with my mom to order one for Jesses birthday. We tried the butter toffee and lemon cupcakes to sample a bit of cupcake goodness. The butter toffee was delicious.. I hope to try the white chocolate next time. We picked up an already made vanilla cake and It worked out perfectly. It was a bit expensive for $38 to feed 15 people but the taste made it worth it. I truly do not enjoy writing negative reviews however I have to say that this was unfair and poor customer service. My mother bought me a cake from Pink Belle for my birthday party on Saturday but the bottom layer of the cake was completely raw. We served or guests unknowingly and as we ate it everyone started stating that the cake seemed undercooked. Sure enough when we inspected it further it tasted and even felt pasty and doughy. It was inedible. Now, I understand mistakes happen, but when my mom took it back to show the owner and receive a refund the owner refused. My mom paid $80 for an inedible cake and the owner would not take responsibility for the mistake even when she brought back the cake to show her. She stated that that was how her cakes are. I cannot image anyone would sell undercooked cakes intentionally. read more

We had the most amazing array of a wedding cake and cupcakes for a post-wedding reception at my home for 50 people. They were able to not just provide some of the most delicious cake and cupcakes with unique flavors and beautiful decorations, they were able to decorate in the wedding colors. The proprietor was so welcoming, helpful, timely and accommodating. These were fresh, delicious, and the talk of the party. Locally, the best cakes, bar none ..... If you want a huge amount of sheet cake on the cheap for large number of people, this place is not for you. You'd go to Costco or Sam's for that. But if you want the best tasting, most creamy delicious cake, where quality matters over sheer quantity, this is the place. Prices are comparable to most other boutique cake shops in the city and it is higher than a typical offerings from the grocery bakeries but that's to be expected. Their icing has a delicate balance of sweet, creamy richness without the overwhelming sweetness that overpowers your palate with most cake icings. I'm ordering a specialty event cake - so a perfect opportunity to scope out several bakeries and sample some cupcakes! I wanted pink and blue layering in the cake, 2 pink and 1 blue, because of a triple baby shower. I stopped at 4 different bakeries and tried cupcakes at 3 of them - the 4th one couldn't meet my needs to for cake decoration so eliminated from the race. At Pink Belle, the cupcakes were slightly smaller diameter and were shorter than the other bakeries, so overall less cake. They were cold refrigerated and the clerk explained that they are topped with European cream frosting, not butter cream, so needed the refrigeration. The frosting really was wonderful, slightly sweet but much less sweet than others so really much better to eat. How many times have you seen people scraping off frosting? You wouldn't with this. They were $2.75 each and I tried a chocolate and a strawberry, both great cake flavor but overall small, and serving them very cold did put me off a bit. For the specialty cake, they could do a 9 inch diameter cake with the colors that I wanted, but didn't normally do enough layers to get the overall mix, possibly could change that but it seemed iffy. Their starting price was more than the other 2 bakeries that I priced - so they came in #3 out of 4 in my cake race. read more

Despite the fact that I quit sugar almost 3 months ago, I just had to. My friend got the strawberries and cream cupcake, I got the cotton candy one. The frosting was TO DIE FOR. It was creamy and not too sweet. Perfection. I've always balked at the grocery store cupcakes and the frosting that were so sweet, they made you just want to retch. Not these cupcakes. Alas, what I wished for at this place was more than just cupcakes and full-sized cakes. I wanted other kinds of pastries, but alas, I didn't see them. VERY MOIST cupcakes with not the usual "American" sweet icing that I hate & think ruins cupcakes/cakes! Had the honeydew cupcake while in the bakery with hot chocolate & was pleasantly surprised how good the cupcake was! The whipped, honey dew icing was just right, & vanilla cake was just so moist! Bought a 4 pack of cupcakes to go - red velvet, chocolate cupcake with white chocolate icing, mocha?, & some caramel flavored? (sorry, can't remember exactly the correct names of each!). I had been dying to try this place for a while, since they had GF products, and it's not far from my house. I thought maybe I'd have a shot at getting GF baked goods there that might not taste and feel like sand. Eureka! I was right! The texture was quite good. The crumb wasn't sandy, but it did have a slight sandiness as it dissolved on the tongue. It wasn't nearly as good as mine, but far superior to anything in a store, and better than most bakery GF treats too. The texture of the frosting and the cake was pretty good! The cake was moist and dense. It did not, however, have that rich, buttery flavor hat you hope for in baked goods, but it was good. I opted for the chocolate frosting because it seemed like a safe bet for a first try. The texture was nice, it tasted pretty good, but it did have a slight starch aftertaste. All of the cakes are white, at least that I saw. I would've preferred yellow. My mom ordered the regular wheat flour stuff (no, not whole wheat). She got a lemon cupcake. It was totally bland. I tried the frosting, and it was so far from lemon. It just tasted like a bland vanilla with a hint of lemon. No lemon zest, no lemon punch or twang, nothing. It just fell flat, although the texture was creamy and not-too-sweet. My mom said the cake was super bland too. She said it didn't even taste like vanilla, just bland. At $2.75 a cupcake, which is standard for cupcake bakeries, you do expect something special. At most cupcake places, you get something inventive, flavorful, and decadent, something that makes use of quality ingredients to justify the price. I didn't really see that here. My mom also got red velvet, which she said was dry and overcooked, as well as quite bland. She said even the cream cheese frosting was bland, which is hard to achieve. Cream cheese tends to pack a punch, so they must not have used much cream cheese in it. She said it really lacked vanilla in the cake and frosting. What a pity. We both agreed that the frosting consistency was great and, for the cakes that weren't overcooked, the cake texture was nice too. However, the flavor missed the mark. The place itself is very cute and surprisingly large and open, done in a cafe style. It seems like a great place to sit and chat, read, or study. However, I won't be rushing back. I make better at home. It's not bad for gluten free if you stick with the regular chocolate mainstay, but for those who can eat gluten, nothing special, and the frosting flavors are bland. read more

Just opened a new location in Carytown, which sits perfectly amongst the shops and sidewalks of the shopping district. Pink Belle combines friendly service with beautiful + tasty creations. My personal recommendation is the pack of mini cupcakes. It was something like 12 for $11, so the price was affordable but the taste was a total win. Normally I'd expect to be paying maybe twice that for the type of cupcakes we got. Unfortunately that's all we were able to try. But I'll be back soon and will try to post another review! read more

Today is my birthday and when I went to get the cake I custom ordered, it was half frozen. There Cupcakes are the freshest there is but the cakes the bake and freeze before delivering to the store. When I called about this, one of the staff told me, "your frozen cake is not my problem sir". The cake was just ok and the frosting was something good and I would have it again. The reason why I gave it three stars is for what I ate, I expected to be wowed by it given a $35 price point. I ordered a mocha cupcake and a chai latte. Both were absolutely delicious. The icing on the mocha cupcake was very light, creamy, and just perfect.
