I wish I'd read the reviews before ordering the mac and cheese with brisket. It was just as horrible as the review in June and the Caesar salad that came with it had 2 little hand fulls of limp romaine with 2 croutons and about a teaspoon of shake on powdered parm cheese. The order of brisket poutine fries, omg, so dry, hardly any gravy and what was there, was watered down and tasteless. The brisket was dry and tasteless. The 8 wings in a pound of wings were soggy and not cooked through. With the cost of restaurant food now.. don't waste your money here. Shame on you Bernie's!! read more

To start with, I ordered a Caesar and an ice water. The server walked away without bothering to ask my husband what he wanted. I assume she thought the water was for him? He had to raise his voice to give her his order as she walked away. She didn't apologize or even come back to the table. We ordered the panzerotti and a salad. I thought the salad would come first but, no, it came with the meal. The food was okay, not great. I had to get up and go find my own cutlery. Our server was nowhere to be seen. Eventually the server came back, barely made eye contact, hardly slowed down, "Everything ok? Ok, you guys are ok." and walked off. Maybe we looked like small tippers? All the food was cold we had asked for it to come out as it was cooked but it all came out at once like it had been sitting back there the restaurant was not busy Wings were undercooked and soggy The hot and honey sauce on them was excellent The fattoush salad was very good but when the highlight of your meal is the salad there's a problem They used to have good apps they are gone The spinach dip had no flavor and was watery like it came from the freezer and was pre-put together I did like the flatbread but everyone else said that it was soggy and they didn't like the flavour so I'm alone on that one If done right the wings are good the nachos are good lots of TVs good beer go here to get drunk and watch sports don't go here for a nice meal you're better off at crabby Joe's Kelsey's shoeless Joe's and others for a roadhouse read more

Went in hoping for a casual meal with my girlfriends family and wasn't expecting to leave disappointed. For starters the gravy was pretty watered down to the point of just being salty water without much flavour, I had ordered the braised beef mac n cheese hoping it would be pretty solid for being almost 20$. Shockingly it wasn't and was likely the worst mac n cheese I've ever had, it was lacking a rue base for just simple mac n cheese and used ricotta and flavourless parmesan as the cheese bases, at this point you would hope the meat was good but it was basically dried out pulled pork with no flavour either very dissatisfied I do not recommend eating here or at minimum ordering the mac n cheeses, just cook it at home for 0.99$. read more

I'll give it a couple of stars for the decor and service. Our waitress was pleasant and there a plethora of TVs on the bar side to appease my constant need for stimulation. From a food perspective, things got off to a good start with a solid spinach dip (which is usually judged by my 13 year old as this is his go to app). Their hummus was also decent. Unfortunately, the good times stopped there. The Caesar salad (another of my son's staples) was lazily mixed. I should have known that something called the Bernie's burger would be close to burnt...it was one of the driest burgers I've tasted in a while. Even places like Fireside and even Jack Astor's have elevated chicken fingers and fries by focusing on homemade fingers and/or fresh cut fries but Bernie's looked like something out of a President's choice box and a McCain bag. It just wasn't good. It just gets three stars..mainly because of the decor, vibe and service. If I went back, it would likely be for a beer and a small bite in the bar side while hyper-stimulating myself with a dozen TVs but I wouldn't make it a point to frequent again for a sit down meal. read more

We visited your Bryon location this evening and were majorly disappointed with the service and food. We first waited 20 minutes to have our drink orders taken and then an additional hour for our food. When our food came 2 of the 4 sides with the meals were incorrect. That was dealt with and then a meal was returned as it was extremely spicy with no mention of spice on the menu. When mentioned to the waitress she simply brought another but nothing was mentioned by management for the mistake. Overall, both couples left rather upset and with no desire to return based upon the service received. If you have over an hour to wait for your food, then Bernie's is the place to go. Otherwise, go elsewhere where you'll receive the service you desire, and the food you ordered. read more

Not a very good experience. Kids got the pizza on the kids menu, 1/4 of the pizza had no cheese on it (1 slice). Amazed that they would bring it to the table. Wife had a Fish & Chips, they were ok, served with no lemon. Wings were good though. read more

Went to Bernie's again Wednesday past. It was the second and last time. When I drove in I remembered that they didn't have mashed potatoes on the menu. I asked if I could get mashed potatoes and between the waitress and manager coming to the table to explain that they didn't serve them they could have provided them in less the time. I suggested that they take a couple of baked potatoes, scoop out the potato, add a tad of butter and milk and mask them. They reluctantly agreed to do that. At that point I was questioning why I was in there. Are they really that hard to make?? I like a steak but only with mashed potatoes and gravy. The vegetables were only half cooked. The bill was 84.00 for the three of us plus 15% tip. Even for lousy service I never leave less than 15%. And for good service (And Mashed Potatoes) more. What a way to make sure the customer never comes back. Shame. No wonder so many restaurants close and open each year. We had a Scores restaurant in Mississauga a few years ago and I enjoyed a steak there three nights a week. Always great service and a perfect meal. read more

My friends and I are always looking for a place to have a meal, a couple drinks and a good time. We probably come here around twice a month and each time is a different experience. On busy days, we are seated the moment we walk in the door, but if we walk in on a weekday for lunch, we can be waiting there for quite a long time. Regular customers and usually the service and food has been very good. Today's experience was anything but. To start the service was exceptionally slow, waiting an extended period for fountain pop. We ordered fajitas as it was Mexican night. Our topping and torts came out and the torts were cold. My GF had a bug in her lettuce to which we notified the server who replied "gross" after looking at it. My GF had lost her appetite at that point. We waited an extended period of time for our hot food to arrive. My chicken was luke warm like it had been sitting for a while, it was dry and tasteless; I could not eat it. The server took for ever to come back. We reported to her and the manager came over. He said they were making fajitas all evening and that they're prepared from scratch in house and no one else complained about it. He said he would take the food off. We were still charged our pop; at $7 for two fountain pops!! The server took forever to come back so I went to the bar to pay. The manager greeted me again and said he would take care of the pop. He again defended the quality of his food, said that there was no bug in my GF lettuce and made no attempt to apologize for our awful experience. Needless to say, as semi regular customers, we were shocked and very disappointed with our whole experience. We will NOT be returning. read more

My sister and I took our father to lunch here today. We had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated even though there were less than 10 customers in the restaurant. The first booth we were seated at was dirty so we moved to another which was also dirty, but the hostess/server wiped off the booth for us. I noticed the booth beside us was also very dirty (crumbs and chunks of food on the booths - seems like they wipe the stuff off the tables onto the seats and leave it there or something). The server was nice, though. My sister and father ordered soup which came right away. My father said his soup was way too salty, but being a pub, they tend to make their food salty so you'll buy more drinks, so that was understandable. It then took a really long time for our food to come, which was sandwiches (should have taken about 10 minutes and we were waiting for about a half hour). I had a club wrap. It was ok, but it was about 80% lettuce. My sister got the Montreal smoked meat sandwich. She said it was good, but it was very dry since there was no mayo or mustard on it. My father got the BLT and said it was good. None of us had ever been there before and thought we would try it, but I won't be going back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

we have been going to Bernie's for the last couple of years and at first was really happy with it. recently we have seen a real decline in quality of food and in customer experience. we usually go on wing night because we liked the wings. During one experience I asked for an additional order to take with us and was refused. Said it was their policy on wing night that you can't order them to go. Then last week we asked if we could have a take out container for the leftovers and was initially refused again stating it was their policy to not give out containers on wing night. we advised them that they could deduct the wings from our bill. we would not pay for them if we couldn't take them. they then brought out a container. My partner who is a smoker asked if he could smoke on the patio where we were seated. he was told no he would have to leave the patio. During our meal we watched several other patrons light up and smoke not more then 10 feet from us while servers walked back and forth in front of them. Nothing was said.
