They didn't just pack up my home and clean my contents, they helped me navigate the entire process, constantly checked in on me and my family, and kept me aware of their progress every step of the way. There aren't typically a lot of positive experiences during a recovery and restoration situation, but Lindsay and Jonathan, and their helpful humor, were a bright spot for sure!

I have been in this industry for over 11 years, and NEVER have I had to deal with someone like the owner, Bret. When I first met with Bret about the job opportunity, he told me, "The role you will be doing will maybe be a little different from what you are used to. You will most likely be in the office a little more than your last role." Based on that conversation, I understood that this position would involve more office work than my previous role. During the two months I worked there, I did NOTHING wrong. I always did whatever was asked of me. I was on time, I did my job, and I was there for my customers. I was also still brand new and learning the company, its processes, and how Bret wanted things done. Unfortunately, the work environment was extremely difficult. Bret is an unhinged, neurotic atomic bomb who will literally explode all day, every day. He constantly argues with employees and cusses them out. All of his kids work for him, and he even tells his own kids to "F off." He also NEVER seems to let anyone be right--even when facts are presented that prove they are right. About a week before I was let go, there was an incident that really summed up my experience there. The crew was unloading contents from a job into the warehouse, and I was sitting at my desk on the phone with a customer, working. Bret started yelling at me because I was sitting at my desk. He wanted me to help the crew unload, and he even told me to "F off." I would have helped the crew if I hadn't been on the phone with a customer at the time. He literally got angry at me for being at my desk WORKING. I wish I were making that up. What made the situation even more confusing was what happened when he eventually let me go. About a week later, he told me I wasn't "a good fit" and also stated that I didn't go onsite enough. This directly contradicted what he had told me when I was hired--that I would most likely be in the office more than in my previous role. It was also difficult to understand how he could determine that I wasn't a good fit after only giving me two months, especially when I was still learning the company and its expectations. He comes from a general contracting background and seems to think contents work is the same thing. It is not. Contents work requires patience, attention to detail, organization, and care. In my experience, those things were often lacking. I would ask him how jobs went or how a delivery went, and more than once, his response regarding the homeowner was, "F them. I don't care about them." That attitude was especially concerning to me because contents work involves people's personal belongings and, often, people who are already going through an extremely stressful situation. Customers deserve patience, professionalism, and care. I have a good amount of videos documenting some of his outbursts. I genuinely feel sorry for his kids who work for him. After more than 11 years in this industry, I can honestly say this was one of the most unprofessional and unpleasant work experiences I have ever had. DO NOT WORK FOR PHOENIX CONTENTS RESTORATION.
