Do Not, I repeat Do Not hire Berton Ring to represent you as an attorney you for any reason. He shouldn't even be hired as a para legal or a dog catcher. He is inept, incompetent and I have filed a grievance against him with the Illinois Bar Association and with the AG's office. The case he filed on my behalf was riddled with grammatical errors, missed statute of limitations and sued the wrong parties. The opposing counsels absolutely destroyed him that the case was thrown out, and I must come up with the funds to get a new attorney. All he did was was use AI to generate a case. Not once did he fully understand the basis of my case. My case had nothing to do with a parking spot and he filed it as a complaint. I have sent him a formal demand letter to refund the thousands of dollar I paid as a retainer and he only offered $500. During my case, I spoke to more than three para legals who all left his office within weeks. When I finally visited his office to meet face-to-face, he had no air-condition or heat because he couldn't pay his bills, the entire office was filthy and disgusting. He is currently uninsured. Alll he talked about was his Russian Bride who left him. When I visited his office, he spent about 5 minutes updating my complaints after pointing out all the documents and evidence I sent to him that were missing in his filing. Berton Ring is a fraudulent Lawyer and I will do everything in my power to get him disbarred. Do not hire him. He is a fraud. He shouldn't even be a para legal at a law firm. read more

Berton quickly assured me that my landlord's case against me was fraudulent (it was) and reassured me that after some simple negotiations with opposing counsel, he would quickly resolve the issue. After providing the initial retainer, he went radio silent for over a month, despite email requests for an update. Finally, I called him for an update. He charged me $500 for a call that simply updated me to tell me there was no update. He also charged me to create a counter claim (which I provided to him to the letter) to the tune of $2,5000, which was never filed for damages (so a service charged but never provided). Finally, for a charge of $11,000, he informed me opposing counsel's client was under the weather so I'd need to give him more money to continue pursuing the case, indefinitely. He still has not told me whether the case has been closed and told me it would require a $11,000 payment to get the answer for which I'd already paid. He is currently threatening to sue me for $11,000; an amount to which I never agreed or was even aware of; essentially, a blank check which he wrote with no results. After questioning him on his lack of information or even conveying the status of my case, he said he would not provide more information unless I paid him $11,000, in addition to the retainer. He threatened to sue me for that balance without ever providing an ounce of results. If you want to lose your case and throw away money to an incredibly rude person, then go for it. read more

According to the ARDC (Attorney Registration & Discipline Committee) web this lawyer does not even have Malpractice Insurance. What does it mean? It may mean that he has had so many claims against him that he can no longer get Malpractice Insurance. Or it may mean that his practice is so broke that he can't afford to pay even his malpractice premiums. Certainly both his ex partner and his son in law have left the practice. read more
