The nursing staff and doctors when I was there, were awesome. They were a huge help and reassurance in a time of new adventures as this was my first child. The facility is modern and very nice, and the staff was attentive while allowing us space to enjoy the first days with our new baby. Maybe this is typical at other hospitals but I was pretty impressed with the food. They had menus for me to order and while it did feel like cafeteria style food. It was much more enjoyable than I would have expected. The staff here really seems to care, and made my experience pleasant.

I already am on the phobic side of things, and now I am just flat out aggravated. My sister drove me out on a Friday night after I put off checking into a foot injury. I had wanted to solely see a podiatrist but was convinced by peers to go bigger, and now I wish I had not succumbed to the pressure. The staff seemed more concerned about visiting with friends, and we waited watching HGTV while I tried to to shake in fear or cringe in pain. A woman wheeled a computer over to us to take down information and could not get my insurance card to scan (goo from being stuck to a mailer), so she simply said I should be fine and left me. Eventually I got moved into a small makeshift room and explained my symptoms to someone else, showcasing my swollen foot and explaining my foot and leg pain I had been experiencing. They brushed off my leg issues ignoring them and instead sent me back for an xray of the foot. We went back to the room where I started to cry (the phobia was getting to me) before getting shoved back into the lobby, where after a long, long day, I curled up in a ball. The security guard, who is the *only* reason this review gets a second star, came to make sure I was okay and asked if I wanted a blanket. After another wait, we got called into another room to be told that they could not find anything wrong with me, giving me papers and a bootie with a recommendation to go see a podiatrist and a perscription for enough ibuprofen for a person three times my size (I stopped taking them after a day to avoid any further problems and just dealt with the pain). The exact place I wanted to go in the first place. I took my papers and hobbled away, 3 and a half hours later. I did indeed go to a podiatrist who called their papers useless, confirmed I had wasted my time and money, took a new xray of my foot and told me I have a minor stress fracture that the hospital said didn't exist. But then again, their billing also said my insurance doesn't exist and made me go through multiple hoops to prove it does so that I can pay slightly less for a misdiagnosis after more waiting, so maybe I just don't exist at all. Except I do, because I'm writing a review to tell everyone to avoid this hospital like the plague, even if you have it. I'd like to give everyone involved (minus the sweet security boy) a swift kick in the butt with my good foot, but I wouldn't want to "not" fracture it.

As promised, I wanted to update my review since having my emergency surgery here (my only surgery…read morehere). First things first, they got me into an ER immediately. I was worried they wouldn't take me seriously as I had level 10 pain a few weeks back and then it suddenly dropped to a 1 or 2 and I signed myself out. However, what was wrong that day, did turn out to be an a urgent matter - one that couldn't be addressed due to waiting on my insurance to approve it - and so, back to ER I went and found out I needed emergency surgery (which I had 13 hours later). I will admit, I cried a bit out of fear. The older I get, and the more I fall in love with life, the more fearful I get. I'm also a mom. Upon expressing my fears, a staff of the surgery team assured me that although this is new and scary to me, it is something that is performed everyday and nothing new for my surgeon and I'll be ok. When I was brought up for surgery, I was a bit loopy ... I hadn't slept and was taking some pain medication to get by. I started blabbering from this combo to the lady checking me in .. A LOT. She was absolutely gracious and patient listening to me, even leaning in a bit when I started to whisper a bit for privacy. I wish I knew her name for a more personal thank you haha. I don't even remember being brought in to surgery to be honest. I remember 2 anesthesiologists coming to ask some questions and the next thing I knew, I woke up in my original hospital room. The hospital was good at treating my pain which allowed me to finally sleep that night (I was also fortunate my roommate left, and the next patient went bizerk in regards to sharing a room ... it was a while scene ... so I had peace and quiet too). When I woke up in the morning, I was brought a hardy but low fat breakfast and it was good (French Toast!). Some hours later, I ordered lunch but I was wheeled out to my car before it arrived by a very nice young man who had excellent manners. I waited to write my review to see how I was recovering. I am 2 months post-op, had a follow up today, and I am doing well! Thank you so much to the wonderful, friendly, and efficient staff here at my neighborhood hospital! You are all doing an amazing job, from the check in desk on through. Surgery can be scary, but you all made my stay here as good as it could be.
