BEWARE!!! IF YOU'RE IN NEED OF ACTUAL CARE AND OR DME, THIS ISN'T THE PLACE!…read moreTime and Time again, we all seem to be presented the same opportunities to show care, and compassion. But somehow we as people seem to continue to fail, ourselves and each other, as human beings.
I was made aware yesterday, by Kalos, that my needs and concerns for my DME, specifically a motorized wheelchair. That I have been fighting for years to get, was of no concern to them.
Now of course, it wasn't said exactly this way. This information came nicely packaged, frosted, and with sprinkles.
The summary was, this isn't our job to handle, it's a Medicare issues, so figure it out on your own.
Kalos, my MLTC ( Managed Long Term Care) isn't here to fight for me or take CARE of my needs. Then what exactly is it that I'm actually paying for? I have an MLTC, due to my many disabilities. But somehow despite them getting paid through me, I'm still left to hold the bag on my own.
And the one person in this company, who's EVER shown me any kind of care and compassion, no longer works for this company. Well it's not hard to figure out why.
Hasn't this virus taught any of you anything? Do we as people still feel the need to continue to treat each other unfairly because it's simply "NOT YOUR JOB". I pray daily that none of you ever finds yourself at the hands of someone who could possibly help you, but carries the same mindset that, they would, but it's simply not their "job" to care about you. Despite their job in the " HealthCARE" system.
I don't do this for my benefit only. But for all of those who don't know that they too have a voice.
I will continue, as I always do, to press forward for my needs, fully knowing that I am alone in my journey. I am only one of millions subjected to the CARELESSNESS, of the supposed HealthCARE system. Designed not to help, but to hinder anyone seeking help and fairness, and to fulfill bare minimum necessities.
I'm basically paying them to NOT care, NOT to help with anything. My last Care person was absolutely amazing, attentive and caring. Up until yesterday I hadn't heard anything from these folks. And when I did, she asked me if there was anything that she could help with. I told her that I haven't been well, and I'd like some help with getting my wheelchair. Which prompted her to explain that " That falls under Medicare, there's nothing we can do". Of which she said several times. And then asked again is there anything that I can do for you.
The backhanded gaslighting within the HealthCARELESS System is absolutely despicable and disgusting.
As I do this, I will not harbor resentments, or ill willed intentions for any who chooses to turn a blind eye, and finger point to someone else to do something but not themselves. For these things only serve to make me stronger. We all have the opportunity to stand up for what's right. Most won't do it, for fear of what others may think, Followers, not Leaders.
This is my journey, it will go on, with or without the help of another, or this MLTC.
