I love Be! I take the weirdest things to her shop and she always does an amazing job! My boyfriend races road bicycles and had a couple nasty crashes that left us with some seriously damaged uniforms. Be cleaned them up beautifully! You would never know he had been in a crash! Her prices are extremely reasonable but she is cash only (I tend to forget that 9 out of 10 times) I recommend her to all my cycling friends and when the time comes where I wear something fancy that needs any kind of work I will definitely take it to her. Was having the worst time trying to find someone to alter my bridesmaid dress until I found Be! I needed the dress taken in at the top and hemmed and she did it all for $60 which was like half what everywhere else I took it quoted me and she did an awesome job! Both times I went in for drop off and pick up, other women were there picking up their items and could not say enough nice things about her and they were so right! Two of them were on their 2nd bridesmaid dress they had brought into her and loved her work. When I went in to pick it up and tried it on, she said she took it in a little too much in in her opinion. I told her it was fine but she said no you need to be able to breath and be comfortable, I'll fix it right now. She let it out a little and had it back to me to try on again in less than 10 minutes! It's really not a bad place to get your clothes altered. Be is nice but works slow. She also charges a lot. This is her own shop, and she doesn't have any employee to help with the workload. I have never had a professional alteration, but when I ordered my dress for my sisters wedding, I knew that I would need professional help. I brought my dress in and Be said she would have it ready in 3 weeks. I picked it up and the alteration was great (had the bust taken in a considerable amount). I got it home and wore my dress for several minutes and noticed that it was too tight around my rib cage. Needing the dress only a few days later but taking a chance and going back to Be to see if there was anything that could be done, she said she would have it done by the end of the day AND she wasn't going to charge me any additional money!!! Suffice to say I told her I would give her a few days and I insisted on paying her. Picked up my dress today and it fits great!!!! Her prices are extremely reasonable (we are talking like $12-$20 for most things) and she is so sweet!!! I will definitely be using her again, and recommending her to everyone!!! read more

I absolutely adore Be! I've gone to a lot of tailor/alteration/seamstress specialists in my life, being really petite, I'm used to things not fitting off the rack - at a minimum, most dress pants need to be hemmed...occasionally, I'll buy the smallest size in something, say a dress and it will still need significant alteration to really fit well. That's where Be comes in! Recently, bought a gorgeous heavy French terry cotton winter dress on sale at Neiman's...was like 70% off and I initially loved it, but wasn't convinced -I sort of drown in it and it was shapeless on my small shape...never having met Be before, I knew this could go either way - it would either become a treasured, multi-occasion 'lifetime' piece with her careful work or it would become a still expensive, 'eh, not sure I'll ever like it, wear it piece'....well, suffice it to say, I've now bought 4 colors of the same dress and it is PERFECT with her affordable, detail-oriented, meticulous alteration....my husband has the same problem for opposite reasonss - big dude, almost never wears pants, they never fit right & make him miserable! - he at long last have a couple pair in his closet he actually doesn't hate. He just took Be a pair to rework (same brand/cut, etc.) to take an ill-fitting pair and make them to the same proportions as the other pair - looking forward to receiving those back! Terrible! Brought in a vintage chinese cocktail and kimono and a silk Kate Spade A-Line dress on Sept. 28, 2013 for alterations. She said that she would have it ready in a week. I didn't live in the area, so I called 3 weeks later to check on the status. Be told me that the items were ready. I asked if I could pick them up on Monday, October 14. She said "Yes." When I went on that Monday, her shop was closed...apparently, Be "forgot" that she has a sign reading that she's closed on Mondays. She called me to tell me the clothes would be ready that Friday, and when I showed up to pick up the clothes, she took a long time looking for them in the back of her workshop. She then tells me that they are not there because she sent them out for someone else to work on them and gives me a variety of excuses. After not hearing back from her in several more weeks, on Nov. 10, I called her to see if my clothes were ready, and according to her, they were. After trying the items on that day, to my horror, the alterations were disastrous and performed by a butcher who at best, is a novice sewer to whom Be should not be subcontracting. The new Kate Spade dress had one armpit taken in significantly higher than the other. Luckily the person who did it was too lazy and unprofessional to cut the excess fabric prior to creating seams, and tackily folded and pressed the fabric to stitch the new seams. I made Be remove the stitching so that the dress could be taken to a tailor with a professional work ethic. Unfortunately, I will have to wait to see if the thread holes from the altered stitching will be disappear with steaming. The vintage chinese cocktail dress was ruined by Be's subcontracted butcher. I had taken the dress to Be so the dress could be taken in to fit my chest measurement. Instead, the butcher took in the sleeves and tore the fabric in the armpit area and left the ripped fabric exposed. Also, there was excess fabric in the upper back area. Last, the subcontracted butcher sloppily hemmed seams by stitching frayed inner fabric to be exposed outside of the garment versus doing the stitching inside the garment. In sum, Be should not be taking in orders if she has no intentions of performing at a minimum, satisfactory work or utilizing skilled people to perform the work and within stated time frames. I wish that she had not done anything with my clothes so that at least, I would have been able to take them in pristine conditions to a different tailor. Now, I'm in the position of not only having to find a new tailor, but also seeing if the damages created by Be's butcher are reparable. read more

Just had a very bad experience with Be over the phone. I requested to come in to show her my wedding dress after seeing great reviews to find out how much it might cost to get the bottom hemmed, and to set up a time for a fitting. She was very nice until she realized I wanted to find out the cost first, then she was extremely rude, listed off her business hours then hung up on me. I was 90% positive prior to the call that I would be going to her for the alteration.. after how rude she was I am 100% positive that I will not be going to her. read more

Be is the SWEETEST LADY EVER!! She's worked at Nordstroms prior to starting her own business and really does a wonderful job on everything from pant hemming to full on bridal dresses! I took my wedding dress here for an alteration and she did it in less than 2 weeks and fit perfectly! She was also very thoughtful and came up with ways to make sure my dress doesn't get in my way yet still look great for the camera. Going to Be's is like going to your mom's house to get your clothes fixed up - assuming your mom knows how to sew. She truly is the nicest, sweetest lady I have ever met. I came to her after going to Tina's across the street for a couple of years, and I'm glad I made the switch. I mainly come to get my pants hemmed, not much else, but I am pleased with her work and her pricing is great. Plus, I always leave feeling like I am her#1 customer. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 starts is that she has been late a couple of times on delivery, but it may have more to do with how many customers she has that keep her very busy. Plus the world didn't end by me having to wait one more day. The big thing for me is how she treated my fiancé when she needed to get a wedding dress altered (yes, she does wedding dresses). My fiancé ordered a dress on-line which is scary for any bride-to-be, but it came as excepted but still needing a few alterations. Be was awesome and made that dress look better than any dress my fiancé found at any of the local bridal shops. Be put a lot ofwork into that dress and got it back to my fiancé on time (hey, maybe that's why my pants were late. Oh well, happy wife-happy life right?) Hint for you ladies looking to keep a tight budget on a wedding - the total cost of the buying a dress on-line AND Be's alterations combined was still less than even the affordable dresses from David's Bridal. I needed to get my reception wedding dress tailored and it was pretty short notice. I didn't get the dress until late from the store. I went and got fitted with Be and she took all my measurements. Luckily she told me I could pick it up in about 14 days which was just enough time. I just picked up my dress and it is perfect! It fits amazing! It is strapless so I was really concerned about it being tight enough to stay up but not too tight to fit. Its exactly right. Best of all, she is reasonably priced. I have been going to Be for my alterations for about 15 years now (after a long and arduous search for a seamstress!). And, I cannot say enough good things about her. Such a great attitude, and a tremendous work ethic. She listens to you and does an excellent job. My sewing needs have gone from the very simple (hemming some slacks) to complicated (reconstructing a dress shirt to fit over, around and through a shoulder brace). But, dadgummit, she did it!
