Affordable prices, great customer service, but questionable care towards customer's garments. I had made two trips to Tina's Tailors to request for a few sweaters to be hemmed, and had discovered upon receiving the first set of finished items that some of the care tags had been removed. This is likely due to the need to shorten the garment past where the care tag was located. I'm not sure if that's common protocol, so I won't fault them for it, but definitely would've preferred if they had asked/told me about it before simply discarding the care tag -- which now leaves me with a sweater that I'm not completely sure if my dry cleaners will know how to deal with. To correct my initial mistake, I had requested for the care tags of the remaining sweaters that needed to be hemmed to be re-stitched on if necessary. They listened, but the care/attention they put into it appears to be subpar at best. The care tag stitching is uneven on one garment, and is flipped & upside down on another. Overall, these are all fairly trivial, but it does make me worry about how much care they'll put into higher stake garments I might bring. Will likely not come back. read more

I did couple alterations at this place before and it was fine. The last time I left 3 items for 2 weeks at the store, and whenever I went back to pick it up (with my ticket number) they couldn't find my clothes. I had to go to the back to try to find my clothes with someone from the store. Also all 3 items I left there for alterations, were NOT adjusted the way were discussed!! Some parts I requested were not altered at all! I only realized after wearing it. So frustrating. I'm never coming back. read more

took a brand new (tags on) bridesmaid dress in for very minor alterations (strap adjustments) and it was returned to me with runs all over the fabric. on the front of the dress there are 6 runs all the way down the front and the back is the same. the dress is completely ruined and they did nothing about it when I brought it up to them. no refund nothing. horrible service. read more

I brought in 3 items to get tailored. I had to wait 3 weeks which was not a big deal because I didn't need them right away and I knew they were busy because of the pandemic. but it was not worth the wait. The hem on the bottom of my jacket was noticeably uneven on one side and then my jeans which were supposed to be a straight cut just above the ground, were hemmed and way above the ankle! I had to take them back to get fixed, and when I picked them up they asked me to pay again. Understandably, because of covid, I think the place is disorganized and overwhelmed right now, but that's why I gave them extra time in the beginning to do it. They fixed my jacket and undid the hemming in my jeans, but the bottom of the jeans are soo uneven and have choppy cuts. They took out the hem without fixing their original cut and it's still too short. These were $90 jeans and it's been over a month of getting them adjusted. This place was highly recommended, but I'm definitely not coming back. They are overwhelmed and the quality is so poor. read more

I would NOT recommend bringing your clothes here First they lost my clothes and told me I had them I assured them that I didn't (I had to bring them back because they messed up the alteration and needed to be redone !!! ) Then they found them ... This is after I had to go back several times to get the alteration job correct After paying for the alterations the first time I had to repay for the re do She was rude to me and insisted I pay again for the 2nd attempt alteration job So I did ... Tina is the best tailor around! She is the only one I will trust with anything beyond a basic repair (like a loose seam or missing button). She has done an incredible job on everything from my wedding dress (taking in the sides and moving the straps) to hemming jeans to even fixing an oddly styled Indian blouse for me. When my husband needed his new suit tailored, he wanted to go somewhere cheap. I told him, nope: go to Tina. As usual, she did a phenomenal job, taking in the sleeve and fixing the cuff length as well as hemming the pants. Her tailoring always looks as good as or even better than the original stitching. There seems to be a constant stream of customers which can be annoying if you're in a hurry, but it's a sign that it is a good place, so I choose to accept that it takes a while when I take something to be fitted. It is the highest quality of sewing (she practically re-designed a dress for me that was way too big!) and it is worth every penny! read more

Tina's is a great place to go for simple alterations and repairs. She hems dresses, fixes zippers, takes in paints, and does all the basic necessities a person would need from a tailor. Her prices are also reasonable, and her staff are always friendly. I've brought gowns here to be shortened that had 3 layers of fabric and all of them were hemmed perfectly. Best money I've spent on clothes in a long time, possibly ever! I had the waist taken in on two different pairs of jeans... one pair was 1 size too big on me and the other pair was 2 sizes too big. Both fit perfectly now! Better than any other jeans I own. Good prices, too. You could maybe save a few bucks per item going somewhere else for a simple alteration, but you get what you pay for! The location is a bit unusual and could be more convenient, I didn't expect it to be on the second story of an office plaza, but whatever. Also, when I came to pick up and drop off the items they were extremely busy both times (3 or 4 people waiting for measurements each time) but they blow through the line really quickly! read more

Finally found a place that does a really nice job of tailoring. Took in some high end jeans for a hem and they came out beautiful. Had a suit tailored as well in which she did a mice job of tightening the coat a bit and tapering the legs of pants. Try them out. read more

After my experience at my first U.S. tailor, I really needed to find somewhere else to go. (I was too embarrassed to review the other place--it involved an old man slapping my ass amongst other things...and the dress didn't end up fitting well either). I bought a pretty white dress on sale for a mere $10 (or was it $5?) while walking around UCI. The small, however, was super baggy and too long as well. Tina's charged me $40 to 1) take in the sides to tighten it, 2) turn it into a pencil skirt, and 3) shorten the top meshy part. They said they could finish it in about a week. When I picked up the dress, it was still too long (such that the part that was supposed to hit my bust did not). The woman who was helping me immediately noted this and arranged to have it again adjusted. I was pretty impressed by this. Overall, I was quite pleased with my experience and will definitely come back again if I need anything tailored and I am not going to Asia, where things are dirt-cheap, anytime soon. Too bad I'm poor, so I probably won't be doing much of getting things custom-fitted. I got a lot of compliments though on the dress when I wore it to the Yelp Holiday party.
