It's my second time having something altered at Mesa Tailors! I bought these vintage inspired pants that were expensive and it ended up being too large on me. Since these were expensive, I really wanted to make sure they would be altered with care (I also figured it might be a complicated job given the changes I needed). I first went to Lisha Tailoring, and I was dismissed pretty quickly- she didn't want to do what I asked and so I went back to Mesa Tailors. Once I arrived at Mesa, she took the time to listen to me and agreed to make the changes I asked for. I picked them up today and they fit like a glove! Her pricing is fair and her tailoring is fabulous. She even lowered the price because the alteration took less time than she anticipated and I really appreciate her honesty too! I hate that I'm even writing this. I have been coming here for 8 years. I have always been happy to pay the prices since the work is good. Today, I went back in the find a missing item. Yesterday I picked up my 4 pieces that were altered and I noticed one piece was missing when I got home. I live a block away from the tailors. I parked right in front of the store. I searched my car and home for the item.....wasn't found. I went in today and asked if it's there. I thought it may have fallen under the racks...since the three other items were on one hanger. After very minimal effort, I was told I likely left it in the car or my home...which I had already looked through... Okay, can you take my phone number if it's found??? I feel sort of bamboozled. I very well could have lost it, but so could they? And I just was totally blamed. I should also note it's a rare piece, and it cannot be replaced. I bought this second hand but it's a sweater that can be sold for a lot of money...it makes me feel sick. (This was written a few days ago). Recently, I went in there to get a zipper in a sweatshirt, and the girl could not have been more rude and grouchy and literally I said to her, I will draw a picture of how to do it and I asked her if she had a pencil she said no. Then I said to her you just don't wanna do it do you? And she said yes! Anyway, I'm from New York and I can't even imagine a Tailor who turns away putting a zipper in a sweatshirt that's pathetic! I initially found Mesa tailors on Yelp and I have truly never been more satisfied. She has your best interest at hand. Sometimes I want some clothes altered and she lets me know if it is the right decision or not. I come in thinking the clothes can be altered a certain way but if she believes the clothes will be damaged or it won't look good she will refuse to alter it. She wants to do an amazing job if the clothing can handle it. I've brought in everything from a bikini to my little sisters maid of honor dress for her wedding this past week! I brought my now ex there too to alter his suit because it did not lay flat and winged open slightly and she said that moving the button on his jacket won't change that, and it's because his chest was wide and it was the cut of the suit. I wish I took a before and after picture of the pair of overalls I dropped off! I bought the wrong size and she was able to completely size it down for me. Changed the waist, the length and width of the pants, and make any needed adjustments. She did a really good job of taking my measurements and very accommodating on what I was asking for. Worth every penny! Turnaround time is a week, so I dropped it off and picked it up a week after. No issues whatsoever and left very satisfied. Will come back for any future alterations. read more

I don't think there's anything she can't do. My shoulders and torso are much bigger than my hips and my legs so whenever I buy suits the pants are always too big. I had tried other tailors but they mentioned they didn't want to take on the job out of fear of messing up my pants ("there's too much material to simply take in the pants"). I took them to Mesa Tailors and she didn't even bat an eye. She had me put on the pants, made her measurements, and less than a week later my pants were the perfect size/fit. read more

I bought a dress in Falmouth, Jamaica while on a cruise. I love the dress but it had a jagged hemline that was too long so I took it to Mesa Tailors to have it hemmed and wanted the hem not jagged. I bought this velvet dress that needed to be hemmed because on a normal person, it hits above the knee, but on my short self, it hits at this awkward past knee length. It's difficult to find a good tailor around the CM/Irvine area. Based on reviews, people either seemed to be too pricey, have slow turnaround time, or terrible work. I took a chance on this place --- even though it didn't have too many reviews, the ones it did have were good. It was $20 to hem my velvet dress about 4 inches. Although that's a little pricier than I'm used to, I thought it was reasonable considering my delicate fabric and her workmanship. It was this dark green color and she managed to find a thread almost identical to the fabric. She promised to finish it in 1 week and guess what --- it was finished on time (some places don't finish by their anticipated pick up date). I moved to Costa Mesa in 7 months ago and started taking a bunch of my clothes which had become baggy on me. I LOVE the work that's done here! First time customer, and I will definitely be back. I dropped off 3 pairs of jeans for hemming and requested the "original hem" method. She had me try them all on and for one pair she suggested/explained why they should be tapered as well. They were ready on pick up day, slightly less than 1 week. They all fit and look amazing. I used to go to another tailor but they found excuses to not want to do original hem, then I tried another and wasn't pleased for the cost, they didn't do original hem as well.
