After not working for a week it suddenly may start working again. Although DNL responds on the phone, they always had some excuse why they could not come and fix the problem within any reasonable time frame. Garage door is not working at all right now and they say they can't look at it for at least 3 weeks. When we had this problem last month they said they couldn't come for an indefinite period of time. I think there was something wrong with the initial installation and they are forcing me to call another company to fix the problem since I don't want to wait a month before they can service the problem. This is unacceptable and I am going to suggest to my builder that he not use them in his future construction projects.

I have been waiting for my garage door for over 2 months. The installer was efficient in installing the door. I had asked him if he could install a garage door opener that I had still sealed in the box. He called his office for permission to install the opener. The installer was told if they installed the opener the door's warranty would be null and void. I told the installer that it was fine (the warranty is only a year). I then told him that I would pay him for it or I could have the contractor pay for it. I called and got an okay from the contractor. The installer refused to install the opener. He said that the company would only install openers that they buy. I suppose the makes more money that way.

He did a great job explaining what happened, what alternatives there were, and in general, his problem-solving skills were top notch.
