Going through pre-menopause, I lost a lot of muscle, struggled with chronic hip issues and weight gain of 30 pounds. Once I started my HRT, I knew I had to change my game plan. This is my gym now!! It is a CrossFit gym that offers membership like any other gym and offers…read moreseveral challenges. No you do not have to be a member to participate in a challenge. There are several different challenges that this gym offers. I did the "Hard Body Challenge" which is meant for individuals who are NOT interested in losing weight; This one is for individuals who want GAIN muscle weight. Another challenge which is the most popular, is the "20 Pound Weight Loss Challenge". All challengers take the same classes. I believe the difference is that in the 20 Lb Loss Challenge, challengers do more cardio as homework and the hard body challengers do more weights as homework. You can read more about each challenge on The Camp website as well or you can physically go and ask about the challenges. This gym is really well designed to keep you accountable! You have to sign up in advance for each class you take and you get charged for every class you sign up and do not attend, which is amazing motivation to get your butt to the gym! Another great motivator to COMPLETE a challenge is that you get ALL your money back if you complete it successfully! After you complete the challenge it is your choice whether you want to take your money back and never return, or put that money towards a year membership. If you are not able to complete the challenge successfully, you can still use the money you paid for the challenge towards a paid in full or month to month membership. In the challenges, you are also given a meal prepping plan which varies depending on the challenge you choose which helps a lot and you never go hungry. Why I love this gym: Environment. Playlists are fire! Positive vives only! Trainers are super supportive and encouraging. Very well ventilated and not crowded at all. Also, if you have a chance to attend a class after dark, they will give the room a night club feeling by turning off the main lights and turning on a few other party lights. Variety in workouts. You will never be bored of doing the same workouts. Mon and Thurs are upper body, Tues and Friday are lower body and Wed, Sat and Sun are full body. You have the option to come in on Sat and/or Sun but they do recommend to rest two days out of seven. Even if you do two days in a row of full body, workouts are always different. The corrections. Trainers really take the time to go around and correct your posture if you are doing it wrong to prevent injuries. You can modify each workout to your level or push yourself to lift heavier whenever you are ready For me, this way of exercising goes by super fast as opposed to a regular gym where I am in my own little world and trying to figure out what to do next What I learned: Not as hard as I thought once I got the meal prepping down. My mental/physical energy was boosted. Drinking about 1 gallon of water HELPS A LOT to reach the challenge goal (for whichever challenge you choose). I learned how to cook certain things like kale and make them taste good. In two weeks I was able two do a full push up! Not a knee push up, a full one. Obstacles: The hardest thing is definitely meal prepping. If you do not take the time once or twice a week to prepare meals, you will end up eating out and less likely to complete the challenge successfully. I would recommend trying out a class before you commit to a challenge or get the membership so you know if this type of workout is for you.

Once I signed all the forms and created my profile, the instructor for the 10 a.m. class came out and gave me a tour of what to expect, how to move between the different workouts throughout the class, where to look for instructions and what to listen out for. She was very thorough and calmed my nerves down (I don't want to be falling behind by myself in the class!) The class that I attended was divided into 3 stations: treadmill, rowing machine and floor (with dumbbells). Each machine/space in a station is numbered, so once you're assigned a number, that's the spot in each station that you're supposed to go. There's no need to "fight" over a spot with someone else. It's really organized. The instructor, Michelle, was entertaining. She's very motivating and I found myself entertained by her laughter, which took away a little of the suffering throughout the workout. If you're a data geek, you're gonna love this. They display your heart rate throughout the class (you're given a heart rate tracker to wear during the class) and you can easily see the zones in which you're operating. I'm looking forward to having my butts kicked in the next class.

From the moment you walk in, the front desk team sets the tone by greeting you by your first name and making you feel genuinely welcome. That same personal touch carries into the studio, where the coaches take the time to get to know you and regularly call you by name during class, whether they are cheering you on, correcting form, or helping you level up your effort. I appreciate their music choices, detailed instruction, and the way they balance encouragement with just the right amount of challenge to push us past our comfort zones. The coaching team is always clear with cues, form corrections, and modifications, which makes it easy to show up, work hard, and trust the process. I especially want to recognize Coach Michelle for her fun class vibe, positive interaction with the members, and engaging coaching style. She plays some of the best workout music, with energetic tracks that give you rhythm on the tread or rower, like Lauryn Hill's "Lost Ones," and it is awesome when she sings along and keeps the whole room smiling while we are grinding through the tough blocks. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does and loves the people working out with her; the way she calls us "my loves" matches the warmth and energy she brings to every class. The people and atmosphere here make the workouts genuinely enjoyable while still pushing us to become stronger and more confident every class. I am really grateful for this community; it does not just feel like a gym, it feels like a workout family that is always in your corner.

Hi Yelp! First off let me start by saying I have lost a total of 36 pounds in 4 months. I feel…read morestronger and more energized than ever before and it's all because of Kate! I originally called Kate to help me lose weight for my wedding in September but I plan to keep this going for as long as possible! I love how much stronger and stronger I feel every week. KATE is very knowledgeable about all aspects of working out, she guides you through every step and makes sure you are doing the movements correctly so you don't hurt yourself. She provides a full guide specifically tailored to your fitness needs (in my case weight loss), the program helps with what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat, and there are also specific workouts for your level of fitness you do on your own. Out first meeting was more like a consultation where she gets a feel for what level of fitness you are at, and I was level beginner :) And from there she builds that plan for you. I work out with Kate 2 days a week tue & thurs and then 1 day by myself usually Saturday morning plus cardio every other few days. I had a gym membership in the past but I only ever did cardio at the gym so I am a beginner when it comes to working out/weightlifting. Let me give you an idea of how far I have come. When I first started with Kate, I could barely do 1 push-up on my knees and now I can do 5 solid regular push-ups. And that's huge for me. I was so out of breath after 1 burpee and it was so awkward for me, but now I can do 10 still winded but nothing like before! We have done all this from the comfort of my own home in my garage, with 2 yoga Matts and a couple of dumbbells. Call Kate, it's the best decision you can make for yourself! My fiancé is so happy with my results, everyone in my life has been complimenting me saying that I look the best I have ever looked. I have totally gained more muscle and it shows, I am thinner but more importantly more Toned and I could not have done any of this without Kate. If I can do it anyone can do it. HIRE KATE! She will not disappoint. She is an amazing personal trainer!

This is my first workout class of any kind and I was a bit nervous for a number of reasons: 1)…read moreCo-ed class & lots of strangers. I'm pretty good at making a fool out of myself without much effort, but throw in some wrinkles like keeping in step or on pace with the group or balance moves and things get extra dicey. 2) I had not been to the gym in quite a while and was not feeling very confident. 3) It's a boot camp so I didn't want to get spit on me while the instructor got in my face and shouted "Get up you lazy sack of s#@*!" when I collapsed from exhaustion. But having met Tina and her extending a personal invitation and some gentle encouragement from some friends who attend the class, I took the plunge. Such a great decision. Two months later I am feeling better than I have in a very long time. I've lost weight and improved my diet. I feel healthier, more confident and motivated to continue and improve. Before I attended that first class I almost let my imagination get the best of me. Though I nearly puked, honestly, about 3 times during the first workout, when it was done it was so gratifying. Every class is a challenge because every class is different. Tina does an amazing job of providing variety to keep it fresh. My illusion of a belligerent drill instructor was completely shattered. Every comment she makes is either encouragement or informative. She helps you visualize your goals, provides diet tips or reveals the benefits of a particular exercise. She exudes positive energy and shows a genuine interest in helping you achieve your personal goals and invites you to share success stories. It seems her positivity is contagious since every person I've met in the class are cool people. If you want to sweat and get a great workout I highly recommend it. The class is never easy, but it's up to you to set your own pace. Tina is awesome and easy to talk to. If you're wondering if she wears the outfit in the review picture, the answer is "no". But, even in sweats & a hoodie she still smokin' hot!
