I can not say enough good things about Janset. She was like my fairy Godmother. As a full figured woman I had my doubts about even finding the perfect dress. When I did, the only thing missing were sleeves to add a little coverage and modesty. She understood exactly what I was wanting and crafted it with expertise and care. The best! My dress needed a lot of work - it was too tight and the cup size was too small for my 36DD chest. I was bulging out and it was not pretty. I went in 4 months before my wedding and she was able to add 1.5" on both sides and added 2" of material on the cups for less cleavage. We also added boning to keep me looking good the entire night. It fit perfectly the day of and I never had to readjust. She is so sweet and a hard worker. She also does bridesmaid alterations and even did my bridal shower dress. My dress is beautiful! She gave great suggestions on the bustle! She won a bustle contest and recreated it on my dress. It came out beautifully. For the chest section, my skin tone and the seamless part was not cohesive due to different color bra padding. She suggested a padding closer to my skin tone. This really helped! It was one of the reasons I was hesitant to get my dress in the first place but she made it come together. Her pricing is so affordable! Where do I begin... I bought my dress in LA and spent decent $$ for my perfect wedding gown however while looking for a seamstress I had a hard time deciding who to go to.. thankfully my cousin had gotten married a few years prior and Janset had to complete a ton of work on her dress which definitely tested the water for me... so I thought I would give Best Bridal a try.. at first I was a little nervous considering the location.. but I'm so glad I didn't judge the book by its cover.. Janset is AMAZING... it's not just about her pricing that's amazing... her quality of work is absolutely great! I went to a total of probably 5 dress fitings to make sure my dress fit just right and Janset never made me feel like I was being too much... she made sure to listen to my concerns, and literally did as she said she would do... I was trying to lose 5-10lbs prior to my wedding and Janset made sure a week prior to my wedding that I had one last dress fitting, which of course my dress was too big since I lost weight... Janset made sure to put me at ease and made the adjustments to my dress the day after trying it on.. long story short.. don't look elsewhere.. I will recommend Janset to any of my friends/family getting married.. just hope to catch her before she retires. read more

The price was good, but not worth the stress. I came here to get my wedding dress altered. I went to what was supposed to be my last fitting, and showed up only to be told that she had forgotten to finish working on my dress and it was not done. She told me to come back the following week and set a time and date for my new appointment. I showed up to the rescheduled appointment only for the door to be locked and she was gone. After calling her, she said she forgot about my appointment and was already home. So she rescheduled me for the following day. Then, she had accused me of not paying when I had already paid for my alterations in full, and she tried to double charge me the full price. After pulling up my bank statement I was able to prove to her that I did indeed already pay the full price. After all that, the dress was still too long and not the right length. Overall it was a bad and stressful experience. I would not recommend this place. You get what you pay for. read more

What a nightmare! I went in, left my dress for 3 weeks to be altered and an hour before my 2nd fitting she calls to say she is going to have to cancel because she has not fixed the dress. I have only 3 weeks before the wedding and she could've mentioned earlier than an hour before to let me know she wouldn't be able to do it. Easy decision to get my dress altered here. I just needed a hem and bustle and wasn't able to even get a quote from any other vendor without the bells and whistles of an appointment - I knew it was easy as an ask but other Fresno alteration spots made it complicated. Not here! From calling to each appointment, the experience at Best Bridal was calm, affordable and professional. For hem and bustle it was $135 ($75 for hem). I took my bridesmaid dress to her for a couple alterations. 1. I wanted the straps shortened. 2. I wanted cups put in. And 3. I asked for the dress to be hemmed. She was very kind and said she could do it in just a couple days and my total would be about $40. When I picked up the dress she was helping a bride so I waited patiently, I would never want to rush that! She then asked if I wanted to just take it without trying it on, and if anything needs to be fixed to just call her, ok sure I thought! As she handed me the dress I noticed the cups were not inside the fabric, they were very quickly hand stitched and just attached to the fabric, which I totally could've done myself (see attached picture).. I thought that was strange, but whatever it works! So I took my dress. When I got home and tried it on I noticed the dress was NOT hemmed, but simply cut "straight" across. Making it look completely unfinished. Not only that but the cut had scissor marks, not even completely straight...which I also could've done myself. (See picture). She cut it exactly to the length I needed it, so when I contacted her to ask why it wasn't hemmed she said she always does original hem... which mine didn't have...but I specifically asked for a hem! So she said she could attach fabric and do a "flare edge" like "fish net" which I do not want! I just wanted it hemmed! She didn't offer a refund, or discount, all she said was "I hope you understand I always do original" and I simply responded "I hope you understand that that is something you should clarify BEFORE." The straps were also shortened by hand...which I also could've done myself! (See attached picture). Overall, very disappointed that I paid $40 plus drive out there twice for an unprofessional job that I totally could have hand sewn and cut myself, and Probably done a better job. I went to a "professional" because I wanted a professional hem, which o cannot do myself. Overall, very disappointed. I wouldn't take another chance on her. read more

Absolutely the best choice I could've made for alterations! When I got my wedding dress, the biggest worry for me was taking it to someone who didn't know what they were doing. After reading as many reviews as possible, I decided to take my dress to Best Bridal Alterations since, out of all the alterations places I saw, she had the most positive feedback. Thank God I did! She works on wedding dresses, bridesmaid, and mother of the bride dresses mainly which was extremely important to me. You don't have to be a seamstress to know that working on a wedding dress is VERY different from working on everyday clothes. From the moment I first scheduled a meeting, Janset came across as friendly and very knowledgeable. We talked prices (under 200 for bustling, hemming, a little nip and tucking and steaming to get the wrinkles out) which was 10x better than what I heard other brides paying. First trip, pinning. Second trip, making sure the hem line was perfect before she cut (the attention to detail was perfect. Even before I said anything, she found the points that she pinned too high and quickly made the adjustments). After the second trip, she told me she'd have the sewing part done in a week and she said she'd hold it until the week of the wedding so that she could steam it and the dress would stay wrinkle free. On the third and final visit, I tried on the dress and it was......I cried it was so perfect. It was like the feeling I had when I first said yes to the dress! While her work is beautiful and amazing, and her prices are great it's not worth the stress that she puts you through. I brought my wedding dress over to start the alterations, she pinned it and gave me my estimate and she told me it would be ready to go in a few days. We picked a day for me to come back for a second fitting to make sure everything was good and then she would finish the bussel. I came back a few days later and she said that she got my dress mixed up with another bride and didn't even start on my dress yet. I let it go because she assured me it would be ready by sunday. She said that she needs to put a few more pins in and then I would be good to go. We made arrangements for me to come back at 8:30am on Sunday to pick it up and pay. Sunday comes around and I arrive at 830 and she is nowhere. I thought maybe she is running late, so I give her a few minutes. 845 comes around and she is still not there, so finally I call her and she tells me that she is at home walking her dog and that she forgot I was coming. At this point im getting frustrated and worried the dress isn't done, especially because my wedding was the following Saturday. She asked me if I could come back in an hour, and I told her I couldn't because I had to go to work. I asked her if the dress was even ready and she said, "I don't know". I waited until the very last minute to get my dress altered. I had no idea it was such a big deal to get someone to fix your dress 2 weeks before your wedding. Janset is probably the sweetest person ever. Her cute and cozy little shop has pins strewn about, but that's how you know she's busy at work. She has such great attention to detail. I have the most complicated wedding dress in existence, and she is working at it with precision to achieve perfection. This is my 3rd fitting. We haven't reached the end yet, but i have been so please with my experience with her. She will give details on what she should do, and will ask your opinion also. My dress was supposed to have a French bustle, but i asked if we could do it a different way for a different aesthetic, and she did it right away. If she sees some of her own work that isn't to her liking, she will fix it right away. She wants to make sure it is perfect. As I was waiting for my fitting, she was helping a girl who was getting married in 4 days with her dress that another alterations lady messed up. I did my research as a bride and this place came recommended by another bride I knew.... TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!! I originally was going to go to a well known alterations place in Fresno, it even came recommended by the place I bought my dress, and they quoted me easily $500 to shrink the top a bit, add in cups, shorten it, and add a bustle. After visiting Best Bridal, Janset quoted me just around $250, depending on how many bustles I would need. She walked me through step by step. It made me feel so comfortable as a bride and I knew my dress was in good hands. I kept loosing weight through the whole process and came back for a total 4 fittings, having her shrink the dress each time, before taking my dress home! She even gave me tips and tricks for my veil that totally worked! My bill was $258, after all the work I caused for her lol. She gets very busy and has lots of brides, so I always made sure to call her the same week as my fitting to confirm the date and time. A few times, she thought I was a different bride with a different dress because we had the same name, so I'm not sure what their experience was with her, but this method ensured my dress was done well and on time. Like everyone else has sad, she has great prices. She charged me $200 for something another seamstress wanted to charge $400 for. She also took me the day I called her and said I could come in that day. She was immediately available and helpful. However, she did reschedule me twice which was frustrating. The first time she called me an hour before I was supposed to be there and she's if I could come the next day. Then the next time I called her to confirm my appointment and she asked me to come the next day again. So I'm not sure what would've happened if I didn't call, would she have taken me if I didn't call first and just showed up for my appointment? I guess she would've told me the dress wasn't finished which I would've been really mad about. So although it took to reschedulings and about 4 visits total, the dress got done. She did a good job, but I do wonder if someone else could've done better? There was a part of my dress that continued to pucker up and still does, even though it got better each time I went. But she always blamed it on the dress being 'a bias cut,' and I have no idea what that means. But she said that about 100 times each time I was there and would follow it up with things like, 'that's the best we can do' or 'there's nothing you can do it about it.' These kind of comments definitely didn't make me feel good about the dress o was wearing or her work on it. She also made a few other comments about 'my belly sticking out' of them back is really tight' and I just felt we're inappropriate and not something she should say to anyone. So although her price was right, being rescheduled was very in incident, and the comments she made just made me not want to work with her. I don't think she meant anything by the comments at all, but I feel a person working in her field should know not to make negative comments about anybody's body. read more

I wanted to wait until after my wedding to write my review. First, I will start off by saying that Janset is very sweet. She was very helpful on the phone like other reviews say. That is what convinced me to use her. I called in March to schedule my dress fitting. I brought my dress in to Janset on April 8th giving myself two months for the entire process since my wedding was on June 10th. My first fitting appointment with what should have been the first go around of my dress being hemmed from my April appointment was scheduled for May 11th. I had to leave work early and my mom left work to and I drove to the shop only to find out that Janset had rescheduled four other brides and she missed calling me! I rescheduled for May 23rd and left. Learning my lesson of not calling the first time to confirm my appointment, I called Janset the morning of the 23rd and at that point she claimed that she had the wrong number for me even though she wrote it on my tag in front of me, so I gave it to her again. She said she needed me to reschedule for the 25th and I said fine. She called me on the 25th and rescheduled me for the 27th. I went in on the 27th and finally had luck because I wasn't rescheduled and my dress was at the shop. The dress was still pinned and not hemmed. I'm not an expert in alterations, but I do know when I had a bridesmaid dress hemmed at another shop, it only took one fitting, so I wasn't sure why I was back in the shop getting repinned instead of trying on a hemmed dress. I'm not expert though. Janset promised me my dress the next day, on the 28th but couldn't give me a time to come back to get my dress since she wanted to ask the other bride who was coming in after me what time she could come in that Sunday so our appointments could be near each other. I asked Janset to call me to confirm the time I would be coming in that afternoon and she never did. I called Janset in the morning because I had no idea what time I was coming in for my dress and didn't really want to sit and waste my Sunday just to find out I would have to reschedule again. I didn't receive a call back, but she sent me a text that it would be ready today or tomorrow. I text her that she canceled my appointments and this would be the fourth time by this point since I was expecting to get it that day and I was starting to panic, that I wanted my dress before my wedding. She called me around 5:00 to come in at 5:30 like I was doing nothing all day and she even ran late because she forgot her keys to the shop, so not only did I stop my errands and rush over from Herndon and Clovis to meet her, but I ended up waiting. I took my dress in two months early just for a hem, a bustle, and the cups sown in, and she literally worked on it for just two days. Her attitude the entire time was oh her wedding is next week, I am working on dresses for this weekend's weddings. It was honestly not worth the stress to save some money. The sad thing is, I never received a formal apology for her stressing me out and she kept telling me I had a lot of time! She didn't even offer me a discount for canceling appointments on me and me having to drive to her shop multiple times. I even had to make an extra trip to the bridal store to get my dress steamed since they were closed when I finally got my dress. I called the bridal shop about the rush to steam my dress, and they said I was the third bride of the week who called about their dress not being ready from Janset. She did a good job on my hem for hemming my dress so quickly and luckily my bustles didn't break the day of my wedding, but I would be very cautious about bringing your dress here. My mom had recommended Best Bridal Alterations to me after she had some work done on one her dresses. I was trying to find someone who could shorten some athletic pants (with zippers) that I had. Everyone I called wanted to charge more than the pants cost. After visiting her and having my pants measured, I got them back in a week and they were fantastic! She did a fabulous job, you'd never know that they were even shortened. Plus the zippers still work; she didn't have to take them out to shorten the pants. I originally bought my dress at Davids and had all my alterations done their and about a year after my wedding I was going to box my dress and get it preserved. I noticed there were holes in the bottom of my all lace dress. I called Davids and they said they would not touch the dress because I wore it already and they only do alterations on brand new dresses that were purchased from their store. So I called here and she asked for me to bring my dress in so she can see what she could do. It turns out she had some scraps of my exact lace and she fixed my dress. When I got it back (less tham a week later) I couldn't even tell that it had been damaged. I highly recommend coming here for alterations and I wish I found her before my wedding!! read more

She was the only, and I am not kidding, the ONLY sweet person over the phone when I called around for quotes. She was also the cheapest! I thought, I have found my match. I came in for a bridesmaid dress that I needed to be altered for my friend's wedding. Instead of telling me "you will have to come in so I can see your dress" (like everyone else), she gave me the price range for alterations for the length and the bust. I wanted my dress to be tight so I won't have to pick up the top of my dress every dang minute. Plus, I'm short, so I needed to cut the length or else I would probably trip while walking down the aisle. Super affordable, I couldn't believe it! So I was excited to come in to do my measurements, I booked my appointment right then and there via phone for the next week. I was also able to fit in my other fellow bridemaids in that day as well. (Note: I believe her fittings/measurements are on Thursday's only) Cons: The day of the pick up time, I walked in early assuming it should be ready. I was in the area anyways so I didn't feel the need to call ahead. She told me that she didn't get to press it yet (steam) and to come back later. The other dresses weren't even done yet either. But I was okay with it because I wasn't in any rush at that moment. It was during prom too, and wedding season, so I get it. When I went in again to pick it up and to also try the new dress on,....boy....I was suffocating in my newly altered dress! I almost couldn't breathe! I guess that's what I get for wanting my dress to be tight. I had to adapt to a new breathing pattern. My dress was way shorter than I wanted. I was really bummed because it kind looked high-waters on me. I wanted it to slightly touch the ground, not come to my ankles. Pros: Sweet sweet lady! Great prices, the best in town! There's candy treats in a vase, too. So that's a plus! :) Tip: Bring the desired bra you would like to wear or something almost identical to it (as far as padding goes and probably style) and also shoes that you will wear for the event. This way you can feel and see how the dress may look on you. Also, bring your dress in advance! Weddings, no later than one month before the big day. Janset was sweet over the phone and during first fitting. The first fitting I let her know the date of my wedding and she said she would do the alterations for me. My dress was about 2-3 sizes too big for me, which she said she could fix. I scheduled to have my second fitting 2 weeks after first one, scheduled for 5/14/18. When I called to confirm appointment she said she had "misplaced" my dress and it was not t the shop and I needed to come in a different day. I asked what she meant by "misplaced" and she said she had left it at home and was not in her shop. I asked if I could go in later in the day, she said no she could not go and get the dress for me, and to come in a different day. Of course I was very upset, since I had requested time off to have my dress fitting. However, she said I had trust her, that she would get it done, so I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. Today I went in for an appointment at 3:30. When I got there the place was full with other fittings and I waited about 30 minutes for my fitting. Which I though was not a very big deal, especially if she's worked on my dress. When I tried to put the dress on, it would not go up past my hips. When I originally took the dress in to her it was way too big, and now I struggled to get into it, and when zipped I could barely breathe. The fabric was scrunched everywhere, as well as the zipper puckered in the back. After the dress was zipped, the zipper popped. She had not done any other work other than this and I was so disappointed. She began to say that taking it in too much was a normal part of fixing dresses, and she would fix it. When I questioned her, she said she's very busy, it's only her at the shop, and "you cannot judge me" for the amount of work she takes on. She continued on and said many things, most I blocked out as o was trying to stay as calm as possible. She also mentioned that my wedding was too close (although she entered into business agreement with me knowing the wedding date was in June), so I couldn't "expect" her to have it perfect. She also said "you must already be too stressed with your wedding", in an attempt to discredit my feelings on her work, at which point I decided I would not argue with this lady, I would pay her whatever I needed to, to rescue my dress from her shop. She charged me $120 for terrible work, as well as a terrible experience. I have taken it to a more reputable place, and will be charged 60$ to have it back to original (or as close as they can get it), as they could not work off of the mess she created. Although Janset is a sweet lady, she is not someone I recommend to entrust your wedding gown too. I'm sure she is great with smaller alterations, but something as important as wedding dress should be taken somewhere else. I was recommended to her by Premier bride, I have also let them know about my experience. read more
