Was too careless to cut the backsplash to the windowsill . The cutouts for the outlets were gouged and jagged, not finished. And the worst part: Even though he and I had agreed he would tell me when to visit his store to decide which parts of the slab should go where, he went ahead without notifying me and cut it. He then had his men surprise deliver it to me ( he said they were going to do something different, not delivering). When I wanted to send it back, so that we can look at the entire slab, to see whether I like how he cut it, he became extremely vindictive and told me he would tell his men to " leave the stone on my front step" and " not return." This meant he would keep my money and the other half of the slab. And quit and leave me stuck. He also never comes to your house to supervise or contribute to the work, he leaves everything to the workmen. He also doesn't communicate, not when the slab arrives at his store, so you are deprived from your preferences on which parts you like best. He also fails to tell you when there are long travel delays. There is no way around this incompetence and callous disrespect..

When it was time to pick our flooring, my husband and I went looking for a floor in our given price range. We went to Home Depot and Floor and Decor and picked out flooring that we liked. Alexis kept telling us that she had a place for us to pick out flooring and kept avoiding talking about flooring we like from other companies. Since we were into the project for approximately 8 months already due to COVID, we decided to go with her contact. We wound up picking a floor with their contact, but we're concerned about how thin the flooring was since it was going over tile that was under our original pergo We were told not to worry about it and that they would make sure that everything was done right. About a month after install, the floor started buckling. We callEd All Island to ask Jay, the owner to come take a look at the floor. He said it would cost us $7,000 to redo the floor. We explained that we had reservations about putting this thin floor in, given our circumstances and that Alexis assured us that it would be fine and they'd take care of it. Jay told us flat out that he would replace it for another $7,000. Since then the floor has been separating in many places and even sticking up. We cut our feet on it and my husband had to tape it down. Since we only looked at samples and don't know the company they got this floor from, we have no warranty on it and have to redo the entire floor ( in four rooms of my home) costing us $9,000 more only four years later. The reason we waited these few years was because we knew it was going to cost a lot to redo this floor. Now we are in the process of getting it done right at a big cost. Home Depot professions said they don't even sell less than 8mm thick flooring, but All Island installed 5mm even after our concerns. I have many pictures of this disaster. When Jay visited us, he went around our kitchen kicking the planks to close up multiple gaps. The flooring was a big part of this disaster, but there is way more that happened with the crew that was working on our project. Paint splatter on our brand new windows and screens, holes left in corners of the room, kitchen cabinet handles screwed in crooked, grout started falling out of the backsplash tiles, and I could go on. Wish they would have done right by us.

The work was never completed to industry standards, and we were left with numerous serious issues, including defective workmanship and damage to our home -- including a basement flooding incident that occurred during the course of the work. Despite having a signed contract with clear expectations, those terms were not followed, and attempts to resolve issues or have the work properly completed were unsuccessful. We paid for a quartz countertop listed in the contract $1500 and he put in Formica. We are still taking the steps to get our money back but I want to warn everyone We also had serious concerns regarding licensing and insurance. Documentation that was provided raised questions about whether proper credentials and coverage were in place, which we found out he lied and is not licensed with Suffolk county and he forged his photocopied picture of it. This is all very alarming as homeowners trusting someone to work in our home we would have never hired him. There were ongoing concerns about professionalism and respect for our property. While I was nine months pregnant and we had our own dogs, the contractor brought his personal dogs INTO OUR HOME, allowed them to urinate throughout the backyard, and repeatedly left the front door open, which resulted in our dogs getting out and roaming the street while we were at work -- an unsafe and upsetting situation. There were also instances of unprofessional conduct on site, including making messes in bathroom areas and yelling at employees, creating an uncomfortable environment. We have had to spend significant time and resources addressing unfinished work and correcting problems that should never have occurred. Home renovations are a major investment, and homeowners deserve transparency, accountability, and professionalism. Based on our experience, I strongly recommend that others look elsewhere.

Everyone who showed up were professionals and did their work quickly and efficiently over a four visit project spanning almost two months. After breaking up and removing the old asphalt, a base layer was put down and then had to settle for 4-6 weeks. In the meantime, we add brick pave edging and had the whole porch done in one long day. FYI, asphalt projects are dicy and depend to a great deal on the weather and tends to throw off the companies schedule. The work tended to drag a bit, but they stayed in touch and when ready, came and did the job to my complete satisfaction. The owner agreed to come by to look at it and was unwilling to hear any of the concerns.
