Very dirty restaurant. The walls around our booth were filthy with food smeared all over and dirty cobwebs that have been there for some time. Arrived for dinner at 6:30 and food was dried out, obviously sat for a long while. The cheese wontons tasted sour so I didn't eat them. We don't often go to Best Buffet however have gone twice in the past couple months. Previously we weren't super impressed. This time was about 7pm on a Friday night. All the food was hot, buffet was full, there was a good variety of options. The sushi was full although my husband thought the fried sushi had been there a bit (I did not notice that). Our waiter kept our drinks full. Great place to pop in for a quick meal when we didn't want to spend over an hour plus to get dinner while out running errands. read more

Buffet is missing the top chief before Covid, since then the food has been the same, but it doesn't taste as good as before compared pre Covid. Best Buffet has some of the best sushi I've had in the Midwest for being a restaurant that doesn't specialize in sushi. They have a large selection that is out on the line, and also are willing to make special rolls individually upon request at no additional cost. Aside from the large amount of items out on the line, Best Buffet Also has a hibachi style grill that costs no additional money and is made to order. I believe there has been a change of ownership recently. They lost Sushiman, who made the best sushi, and have now changed ingredients in their sushi. I was shocked how good this food was for a buffet Chinese place. The only reason that I am giving it 4 instead of 5 is because there are some items on the buffet that we did not like (from the looks of it other people didn't seem to like it either) and it appeared like it had been sitting there for quite some time. From the outside of the restaurant you would never know that the restaurant is actually extremely big. When you enter, you are greeted with a nice little koi pond which my kids loved. (There were tooth picks in the water when we had walked in but I was pleased to see that they were removed by the time we left). We were immediately seated and then immediately approached by our server and got our drink order. He was extremely friendly and took the time to talk to our 3 and 5 year old. (Some of the other servers also came by and had a short conversation with them too, the kids loved it). Our drinks were quickly brought to us as well. The buffet is really awesome. They offer all types of options in the buffet area and then they also have a grill where you can pick meats, noodles, veggies & sauce and they cook it up for you immediately as well as offering a sushi bar which is fresh and very very tasty. My little ones really liked that there were mini pizzas offered on one of the buffet tables as well. There is also a nice salad bar and a very extensive dessert table if you are able to save room for it! We had lunch there and the bill for 2 adults and 2 kids came out to be $25. What happened to this place? Used to be so good. This will be my last time going here. Entire meal was dried out, Mongolian beef so tough you couldnt cut it. Crab Rangoon was just brought out and had not only no flavor but was tough. Crab casserole had no cheese in it. Hot and Sour soup had the most horrific taste and a metallic like after-taste. This place is way above average compared to the asian buffets you see in every town. This place is never empty so the food gets refreshed at a decent rate. I love the food. The sushi is super awesome. The gentleman who makes the sushi does a very good job and there is a great variety. All of the staff has always been very nice. I highly recommend. It is also one of the cheapest places in town to feed young kids (teens are full price). The price goes up a little more with age of toddlers and young children. read more

On August 12th 2020 around 1-2pm my grandma and I had lunch here at the best buffet. Within a few hours I started feeling extremely ill. I have been sick ever since I ate there. I haven't had anything to eat since I was there on Wednesday except apple sauce and crackers. And today I had to go to the emergency room because I have been having problems and horrible pain since I ate there. I absolutely love this place! The gentleman who makes the sushi, deserves a raise! Every time I come in he makes fresh pieces for me. I always leave him a tip. I dont quite understand all the great reviews aout this place. My husband took me and the first thing I though when I saw the food was 'this in NOT the best buffet'. The food looked like it was sitting there for many hours. It was bland and had no real flavor. It took 45 minute for them to refill the Lo Mein. Some of their food was so greasy that when you bit into it the grease just dripped out. Aside from the food, I'm highly surprised that they havent been turned in for animal abuse or neglect. There is nowhere near enough room for the amount and size of Koi they have in that pond, it broke my heart. When we are in the area, it's always a treat to stop by Best Buffet! Even as vegetarians, we have plenty of options to fill us up, ranging from great veg sushi, the quick custom grill service, and a variety of noodle, rice, and veg dishes - not to mention mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. The hot & sour soup is a great way to start and finish a meal, and the selection of fruit, salad items, and desserts are great! There is really quite an impressive variety of food here, including typical Chinese buffet options and an extensive salad bar. However, the most impressive thing about this place is the relatively wide variety of fresh sushi that is included in the buffet. I rarely eat sushi off of a buffet, but all of it is very fresh (and a lot of it, but not all, includes cream cheese, which is a bonus for me). There is a teppanyaki option that is pretty decent if you want it, and the Chinese food is pretty good as well. The price is very reasonable considering the availability of fresh sushi and the wide variety of food offered, and there are always quite a few people eating. My husband and I have enjoyed stopping at the Best Buffet for Chinese and sushi when we have been in town and plan to eat here several times more in the future. read more

This was sooo disappointing. The employees couldn't be nicer. Went In for a take out order. I ordered appetizer,BBQ spareribs,egg roll,shrimp fried rice and pork egg foo young and hot and sour soup. Let me just say,I'm not a picky eater so for ME to say something is in edible, THEN IT HAS TO BE REALLY BAD! The soup was absolutely tasteless. Had to just throw that away. Egg rolls were good but the spareribs had a lot of chunks of fat on them and the sauce was REALLY greasy and gross looking. It turned my stomach. Shrimp fried rice was ok but it did seem more like Mexican yellow rice rather then Asian fried rice. The egg foo young was horrible! It had the same rice with peas and carrots in it and the sauce was horrible and resembled nothing like what it's supposed to be. Go to Walmart and buy frozen Chinese food if your really desperate. Visiting here from Brookfield, IL for a family reunion. saw this on Yelp, had decent reviews, said what the heck...I thought the food was very good! Even my wife who does not like most restaurant's sesame chicken thought it was excellent. This is the second time back and the results similar. Variety is ok. The food turns so hopefully fresher than some buffets. Quality is ok. Sushi was fine and the chef friendly. Unfortunately sushi isn't a staple of this area and it sits for awhile so you need to get last out for freshness. Staff except the hostess is friendly. This is easily the best Chinese food in Quincy. It is always clean and the staff is always very friendly and checks on you plenty to make sure you are taken care of. There is a large selection and the food is kept fresh. The quality of the food is very good. It is priced the same as almost all Chinese buffet's are. As someone else said, the rice is yellow. The very first time I went there I was a bit skeptical because of that. I was not let down though and it tasted as it should. Who cares about the color of the rice if it taste good? Are you ever in a big party of people wanting to eat on short notice without reservations? Then this is the place. 60 of us showed up. 60 fricken people! We showed up without any reservations (because it was unexpected) and the staff at best buffet handled us like a pack of cool cucumbers. The food was great (as it usually is) and our drinks never ran dry. No sir. I was drinking Diet Coke and the waiters kept it cold and coming. This is the place to go if your like me (impatient and impulsive). The only down side is the fact that bulimia is frowned upon in today's society. Otherwise I certainly would have strolled into the bathroom with my head held high as I cleared the way for more kimchi, sushi, pizza, chicken, egg drop soup, pork dumplings, banana puddin, and Diet Coke. My wife usually cries as I stuff my face into the late afternoon there (when it's just the two of us), but if there ever was a place to pig out while scaring the little lady, best buffet is the best place to do it! read more
