Made a SAME-DAY Geek Squad appt in the afternoon to replace an iPhone screen. When making the appt online, it showed that they can do it the same-day. Before going, we called to double check and they said they can replace it the same-day. Planned the rest of our day around this appt and drove the distance to get there. Upon arrival, we were greeted and identified as the next person to be assisted. We told the employee why we made an appt and he said he's not sure they have the screen. He went to the back to check and came back and said that they don't have the screen and we would have to wait about 3 days for it. WOW! The screen replacement was a time sensitive issue and having Best Buy going from they can do it the same-day (even after calling to double check) to now being 3 days was extremely inconvenient. If replacing a screen the same-day, I'd recommend calling ahead to make sure AND ask the person to check for the physical screen instead of just checking their computer. Employee said they just assume that it's in stock, but it's not always the case. read more

Have visited this store a handful of times and wasn't really blown away by anything. When you go there unfortunately, it seems like you have to know what you are looking for and knowledge about the product. I wasn't asked if I needed any help, any of the times that I've been there so that was a common theme. Common theme not only at just that location but other locations. I did see people get asked if they needed help. This most recent time I went which was a couple of days before the holiday, it seemed quite chaotic in the store. Masks don't seem to be mandated and the checkout line was all over the place at customer service. There were clearly signs on the floor showing customers where to stand but they stood wherever they wanted to which was blocking the store entrance/exit but that wasn't corrected. I went in particularly looking for a gaming system which don't seem to be on the actual floor locked up or anything, or at least the one I was looking for which was the Nintendo Switch. I had to flag down an associate to ask and was told to go to customer service. So I had to stand in line even though I wasn't buying anything just to ask if they had an item. I online ordered an electronic adapter, one that I could use to quickly download mp4 files off of the microSD card in my GoPro. Ordering it online was so easy, and an email message told me that it would take an hour for the employees at Best Buy Alpharetta to prep my order so that I could pick it up at the store. About 30 minutes after I placed my order, I got a confirmation that I could pick up the adapter at the Best Buy store! Parking at this location is easy to find. I hadn't been to this location before, so I had to ask the employee stationed at the entrance where I could pick up my online order, and he smiled and directed me to the checkout registers near the exit door. I had to wait in the queue for only 3 minutes before a helpful and friendly cashier was free to help me. I told her that I was there to pick up something that I ordered online and was ready for me. She asked to see my ID, and then asked for my phone number. The employee then went to retrieve it from wherever online orders are placed, and, within a minute, scanned the label, allowing the purchase transaction to go onto my credit card, and then handed my purchase to me. We went to look for a tv for me and my wife. Our TCL we bought in 2016 has been flaky with the software glitches on apps. The vast amount of tv technologies makes it confusing to decide on which one to buy. Everyone wants to buy the cheapest one yet the most bang for the buck. Best Buy is a good place to buy because of their free home delivery! I'm not gonna lie (not that i do like Jim Carrey or George Washington " I can't lie!) tv technologies are ever evolving from Zenith to curtis Mathis to LG they've come a long way! I use to buy only Japanese tv's because they were far superior like their cars but soon the south Koreans and Chinese would catch up. So figuring out which models today work best for picture quality and bright lit rooms or gaming requires close inspection. This is where the sales associates can verify your internet research. Since its the last weekend before Christmas I knew getting a free associate would be difficult. However, having patience paid off because a young salesman Peyton asked us if we needed help. He answered all of my technical questions and my wife's logistical questions about delivery and our home. We were real impressed with his knowledge and nice customer service. Attention management this man needs a raise! I wasn't sure customer service like this still existed.Having said that, he helped us pick-out the best one for our needs. I am so dissatisfied with Best Buy's customer service. I had to return an unopened unused item and was 7 days past the return date. (Our daughter had emergency surgery and had been in the hospital and I never had the chance to make it to the store in those first two weeks.). The store would NOT refund my credit card and would only give me a gift card which I do not need. I tried calling their 800 number and they set up a case and said I would hear back within 72 hrs. Needless to say, I have never heard back, and after 3 calls to the 800 number today (total of over an hour), I still don't have a resolution. I couldn't be more disappointed and annoyed. read more

They recently re-arranged the home theater to provide show rooms for speakers and projectors, quite nice actually and yes, not cheap but it seems to be decent qualities. I believe the employees actually try to hide from the customers. The lack of communication that Best Buy provides when it comes to there warranties is the worst ever. You can't tell a consumer to renew their membership to order repair parts only to find out that because the membership expired it cancel out the warranty you had on your product. Back in the day, Best Buy was a great place to purchase music and electronics. I purchased my very first high definition TV and blue ray DVD player there. I probably spent over $3,000 at Best Buy between 2004 and 2010. I always knew that the staff was extremely knowledgeable and they would help me make the right purchase decision. Things have changed. When I walked in to the Best Buy in Alpharetta, it was very difficult to find someone to help me. I walked around the store and finally saw one employee. I literally had to chase him down to get his attention as he darted in and out of aisles almost like he was trying to avoid any contact with customers. After I got his attention, I asked him for the difference between various noise cancelling ear pods. I also wanted to know which ones he would recommend and why. He literally gave me a three sentence response which didn't tell me anything more than what I could have found on the company's website. So, unfortunately, I think that Best Buy has lost me as a customer for life. When it came time for me to purchase my new noise cancelling headphones, I ended up going to the Target in East Cobb. I bought a $4,000 outdoor TV here. I paid $700 to Best Buy Magnolia to mount it on my patio outside house wall. The TV died 15m later. It was under warranty with Samsung, but Best Buy wanted $150 to take it off the mount and $300 to remount it after the repair. Really? It's under warranty and I paid $700 already for mounting support. It would be impossible to be less satisfied with Magnolia and Best Buy. The customer support I received was nothing short of aggravating and insulting. I've probably bought electronics in this store for 20 years. It will be a cold day in hell before I return. I have to hand it to them - I love Best Buy. I could spend hours there just browsing around. There have been many an afternoon that I've been in the North Point area and passed through the store. The chain: I think the concept of a store with bunches of technology is any nerd's dream (even non-nerds can enjoy the accessibility). The layout: Each part of the store is clearly dedicated to a specific selection of products and is organized intuitively - phones leading into laptops, headphones leading into speakers, and toothbrushes leading into larger appliances. While there aren't extremely helpful/noticeable signs, it's not too difficult to navigate. The deals: While there aren't huge deals, I find the prices are generally fair and there are often discounts on products or ways to get packages (ie - laptop + Office subscription). Product availability: I love the variety that Best Buy has with some of the new products that come out. However, for a store that focuses so much in tech products, it often lacks in versions and accessories. For example, they only have certain colors of some products in stock, so you can order a different color but cannot see it in person before purchase. Also, there might be a computer with pen-enabled technology, but they do not have/sell a compatible pen. The service: The obstacle for this store is the service. Don't get me wrong - I've had personable and friendly help approach me here every visit. However, it often takes quite a few minutes of being in the store before a team member asks if you need help. While I usually don't mind, I think being offered help is valuable in a store with such expensive, customize-able products. Every time I have made a purchase, the time to acquire and pay for the product has taken 30+ minutes. Whether it be a tablet or drone that they have to track down in the back or a laptop that has no available team member nearby, it is a huge task to actually buy something that can't be picked off the shelf and taken to the front. Overall, I still go to this Best Buy to browse on my own and try out some items. I just always do my research on the price and product availability and leave plenty of buffer time when intending a purchase. read more

My appliance delivery was a nightmare. Best Buy drivers/delivery folks are unprofessional or do not know how to set up appliances. I have called them more than 8 times for the same order. I feel bad for the call center folks cause they want to help and cannot. They let me vent and say this time you will get it and Best Buy cancelled my order twice. I looked online for a TV and the stores closer to me were out of stock. Since the item was on sale, I guess it had low inventory and they wouldn't ship it. Pain in the butt, but I understand. I ordered it online for curbside pickup for this store instead, since they said they had two left. They wouldn't hold it for me, so I ordered ahead and paid online, which was fine. It said it would be ready in an hour or two, so I drove the hour to pick it up. I parked out front and ran inside, since it said it still wasn't ready... not sure how fast they usually grab items and have them ready. But it was a busy Saturday. So I was a bit nervous it wouldn't be able to pickup yet... but the guy at customer service was very helpful, scanned my online barcode, got the item ready for me promptly, and brought it to my car out front for curbside. He put the tv in my trunk and was helpful. Great customer service. TV and it's box were in good condition, and it works well! Great buy for a $189 on sale 42". It worked out well! After going to the AT&T store in hopes of buying a new phone, I learned that you can no longer just "buy a phone." It's not a come in and leave with a bill of receipt anymore. (Which I guess shows you how long it's been since I bought a new phone!) Now you need to put it on your bill to ensure you'll be using their service. Long story short (too late!), I ran over to Best Buy to get my phone without the hassle. I walked up to the tech area. There wasn't an AT&T person there to help me, but it didn't matter since I knew what I wanted and they had it in stock. The clerk who helped me was quite knowledgable for any question that I did have, as well as the people who popped up to ask her questions while I was waiting. I was in and out within ten minutes. I could've waited a little longer to have someone change over my SIM card, but I knew I could do that on my own in the comfort of my own home, so I didn't wait. Unfortunately, my work hard drive back-up crashed and now I am having to deal with a $1K recovery charge. Amid my mental and financial stress, Geek Squad provided me with helpful insight, consolation, and knowledge I will carry with me in the future. Technology, especially if you don't have a formal education in it, can be a difficult wheelhouse to navigate. Ask for either Cal or Brad to help you during your appointment. Both men are extremely well-versed in data storage know-how, do's, and dont's. I left feeling relieved in an otherwise highly stressful situation. Brick and mortar...a slowly dying breed. It's good to know there are still places around to try out the latest gadgets and maybe even make a purchase or two. The sales people here are knowledgeable and unlike other stores actually know about the products for sale. The appliance sales associates are the most helpful. The front end staff leave much to be desired. There is always confusion at the customer service when I've gone to return something. So I went in for an appointment with Geek Squad for a screen repair on my 6th Generation iPad. There was already someone with the tech with I arrived, in which I came at 2:00 P.M and my appointment was not until 2:45 P.M. While dealing with the current customer the technician was clearly getting flustered because another employee had not came back from a break. After about almost an hour waiting, I am finally able to get seen for my appointment and he instantly tells me that they don't have the part and they would have to ship it for to an Apple Repair Center for repair and that it would better if I went to the Apple Store. All in all, it was okay but it was a wasted trip and I don't see my self returning to use their services in the future. read more
