Today was supposed to be my in home installation of my new TV. For this installation, I pre-paid $269.99. I was given a window of 11:30-3:30 for the installation, so I went to work at 8 and planned to be home during the time frame they gave me. At 10:19 am, I received a call from the Geek Squad tech saying he was 4 minutes away from my house. I told him that I was at work and this was not within the time frame I was given. He said he could only wait 15 minutes and if I was not at my house then the installation would need to be rescheduled. I raced out of work and sped home. I passed the Geek Squad van as I was entering my neighborhood and he was leaving. I called and texted him that I was home but he cancelled my appointment. I lost time at work and did not receive the expensive installation I paid for. I immediately requested a refund for the installation and do not intend to shop at Best Buy again in the future. I have already found a private individual to install my TV for a fraction of the cost I was prepared to pay Best Buy. read more

I have been to this location 3 times in the last month. First time: walked in and asked for a charger the guy at the front pointed me to the back right corner. The person in the back pointed me in the front left corner and the person up front pointed me to the back left corner. Neither of them were the chargers and none of the associates bothered to help find it. So I left and ordered it off of Amazon. Second time: I came in to buy a laptop charger and the same thing happened except I ended up finding it myself. I paid $80 for a charger that is literally cheaply made. Third time: I walked inside. 2 guys standing in the front having personal conversations not even bothering to greet me. I walked to the back looking for a capture card for my camera and there were 2 guys standing in the back as well just having a personal conversation and I signaled at one and he turned his head as if he didn't even care to help. And he didn't. So after spending 30 minutes waiting for help and out of all the associates there not working (I only saw 2 working). I decided to just leave. It's actually sad that they don't care to help their customers and what's even sadder is they are going to be just like RadioShack after while and go out of business. Poor customer service. After my iPhone was stolen and I needed a rapid replacement because I was leaving immediately on a trip where I would need a cell phone, the men here (Abel, Jordan, and Spencer) worked to get a new iPhone in my hands as rapidly as possible, putting the glass and otter box on it for me ASAP. I was on the road quickly. Much appreciation for understanding of the situation and their help. The store is located conveniently off a busy street, near other stores and shopping areas. I would rate this experience zero stars if I could. I'm a 16 year old who spent over half of my savings on a the new iPhone 16 pro max at Best Buy. We were helped when we came in on Sunday night where we ordered the phone. The man helping us evaluated my phone and said I would receive $108 when I brought it back as a trade in. When we brought the phone in on Wednesday, the supervisor took a look at my phone that works perfectly fine and said we would not be getting the gift card for trade in. Her employee gave us the wrong estimate and regardless of what we were told she wouldn't give it to me. She wouldn't even give me the screen protector for free, again after I was promised $108. Keep in my mind, I spent $1500 on this phone. I even mentioned to the guy I was surprised they would give me money for it considering Apple wouldn't. He reassured me multiple times I would be getting this money. I had even purchased the Best Buy Apple care plan, the least they could do was give me the $25 screen protector. I wanted to buy a product. I found the product in a case. No one would open the case so I could buy the product. The staff member sitting in the front was rude and unhelpful, and treated me as if I were bothering him because I was asking for help. I waited for over 30 minutes for help. No one showed up. The Geeksquad guy I was able to talk to suggested I order the product online. THE PRODUCT WAS 20 FEET AWAY! Just needed a key. I did order it online, but not from Best Buy. I had trouble with a delivery service from ordering through the app (which obviously is not connected to this specific location) and it did not get delivered and was returned by the driver (which was from a service called roadie and not your typical UPS or Fedex) I went in to this location to try to fix my issue, I arrived in a panicked state as I needed a certain item for a Christmas gift and was in a time crunch, Will P. from the Geek Squad at this location was EXACTLY who I needed in that moment. He was kind, talked to me in a way I could understand without making any excuses for the situation I was in, he helped me find a solution that not only worked but was better than I had even hoped for. He helped me find the right item I needed, it was priced extremely well, (best price in my area for the ps5 games I was looking for) he reassured me my issue would be solved in a timely manner (which it was) and he went out of his way to make sure it all worked out for me even though I could tell it wasn't in his usual job description. I hope that he gets the credit he deserves, he really turned my entire experience with best buy from a 1 star to a 5 star. I purchased a docking station, Best Buy employee handed to me and told me this is what I need, it works for 2 weeks, which is out of their return policy, and then it gave me snowy green and pink dots on my screens. I tested several ways by switching cables and monitors. My conclusion was the docking station. I called Best Buy in Athens, GA where I purchased it and asked if I can exchange, I didn't ask for a return, only exchange. Their employee, Tory, told me that it's out of the return period (which I am not asking to return) and they don't have any information for this manufacture for me to get in contact with, and he said "even if the employee recommended it was my choice to buy" so it means that I'm stupid enough to purchase products from Best Buy that they only can guarantee to work for 2 weeks, after that I'm practically SOL with the defected product, even Best Buy didn't have their contact info. I asked to speak to a manager to verify the procedure, he said there is NO MANAGER. I want to confirm there is no manager in the store, he said "there is NO MANAGER to take my call" Please BEWARE of what you purchase from Best Buy, the worst customer service EVER, they only stand by anything you bought ONLY for 2 weeks, after that you're on your own, unless you buy their "extended warranty" another way to cost you more. read more

I bought a Toshiba Firetv about four months ago. I loved it for a month; then it developed a glitch. I can no longer get to television (streaming is no problem) without totally rebooting the television. The tv will not switch to HDM1. I called Best Buy and they will not be responsible for this problem (and selling a defective television) after 15 DAYS! They said, "Call Toshiba." I say call the Better Business Bureau. I had to get a replacement tablet charger and called first to see if they had it. They NEVER pick up the phone if you press sales. So after the third time i called, i pressed the prompt for geek squad. A geek squad guy checked and they didn't have the exact model i wanted but he found one that would work. I drove to the store and told the guy on the floor what I needed and that i had just spoken to a geek squad specialist. Sales floor guy tells me he'd check to see if they have the exact one from the manufacturer: what part of "I already called and you didn't have it" don't you get? Then he argues with me about what plug i needed. Until I pulled it up on my phone, he refused to believe I needed a micro usb set up. I know what charger i need! He finally goes over and finds a charger that he said would work. I walked to pay for it and realized he gave me a charger with a usbc plug! I go back this time to the geek squad counter. I explain the spiel. I say "the guy on the floor gave me a usbc". This geek squad girl says she doesn't know what that is. I have to explain the differences in usbs to the geek squad??? I tell her I spoke to a geek squad guy on the phone. He knows what I need--why not get the guy I just talked to on the phone? No. Geek squad girl instead proceeds to find out if they have the exact manufacturers model. I just told you that you don't. I decided to just scour the aisles on my own. I finally found what the guy on the phone had described. Walking to pay for it, geek squad girl comes back up to tell me that they don't have the exact manufacturer's charger (Really?? Shocking!) I tell her i got what I needed (no thanks to any of them) and she proceeds to try to tell me that what i found won't work. And I'm gonna listen to her when she didn't know what the different usbs were? No thanks. They need to hire people who actually KNOW about electronics. read more

One of the worst customer service experiences of my life. I bought a Sonos sound bar and subwoofer for almost $1,500 and paid CASH. The sound bar was a real dud so after four days, I took it back to the store, with the receipt, expecting a full cash refund and they gave me the longest runaround about they could only send me a check in the mail, which is ridiculous. Screw Best Buy. The employees are stupid. I mean so stupid. You might as well go to Walmart. At least there, you expect it. Zero stars! Best Buy screwed me out of a price match. Customer service stated they were processing refund. Went to the store and store manager Roberto and associate Daniel called customer service and Hanah at customer service stated they were sending me a $500 gift card. I was ready to return the phone in hand and buy the other deal somewhere else because this store had the phone way overinflated in price. Now, the sale is gone and I still don't have the price difference. Bottom line is they keep you in a circle jerk until you get stuck with their merchandise. I don't recommend them and that will be my last purchase ever from them. Online retailers or direct from manufacturer is a better option for the best price and you don't get caught up in their circle jerk. Not happy and will let everyone I know not to shop there. Other: Spent days there, literally, trying to get my phone transferred. 4 people and all day couldn't get it done. Second day, a girl gets it done in an hour but I am in store past close. I needed my laptop repaired and Apple recommended I go here instead of drive to the nearest Apple store. The Geek Squad guy said it would take a few weeks and the repairs would be about $400. A place down the road would do it for $650 in 24 hours, they said, but Best Buy would save me a lot of money. I said fine, I'd rather save some money. Best Buy just contacted me over a week after I dropped off my laptop, and said it would now be $650 to fix my laptop. At this point, I should've just gotten a new one. I bought an Asus gaming laptop 3 months ago. I recently adopted a dog from a local shelter. This week my new dog chewed the power adopter to my Asus computer while playing silently at my feet. I went directly to the Athens Best Buy to obtain a new power adopter. The salesman was very helpful but regretfully the store did not have a power adopter compatible for this computer. However, he pointed out that the part was covered under the warranty I had purchased with the computer. The Geek Squad representative helped me process the claim for the new part. I was told it would take a few days for the part to arrive. I explained I needed a working computer before then if possible. The manager consulted another sales rep and both men promptly went to work to resolve my problem in the middle of the busy Friday night pre-Christmas shopping night. I was provided a working power cord that night and I could not be happier. Across this country large "big box" department stores are closing (Sears, Toys-R-Us, Circuit City,...) but Best Buys thrives due to their customer service. read more

This store never keeps popular electronics in stock, if they even stock any of them. I've lost count of how many times I've gone into this store to buy one specific thing and I end up being told they don't carry it. I was really sick today. I had extreme body-ache, was super nauseous, and I haven't eaten a proper meal in three days. Basically, I had an extremely bad cold. Despite my better judgment, I followed my roommate to Best Buy. While my roomie looked around, I sat down in an aisle and just spaced-out. All of a sudden, a very concerned looking male employee walked over and asked me if I was okay. I told him I'm fine, just really sick. He offered me water and when I refused, he told me to let him know if I would need water later on. Anyways, from my experience, it was a very clean, well-organized store with friendly staff.
