I'm updating BEST BUY again - holy cow! My daughter wanted/needed a laptop for her upcoming first year of (gulp . . . ) college! When I tell you that my knowledge of pc equipment is poor, we're talking expecting toddlers to understand algebra! Tom, who I think specialized in MS products, helped us BIG time, didn't rush us, or belittle me in my lack of PC knowledge. He was also so nice, friendly, and knew a lot of "younger" people stuff with gaming, which impressed me (and my girl) for sure. My daughter was thrilled - she went home with a good brand (p. well priced) laptop, a Canon printer, and some other fun little things. I scored a wireless keyboard (had to be ordered), that took just under a week to arrive at their store for pick up (I could've had it shipped, but there was a cost attached - no thanks!). I ordered a 55 inch Sony TV on 11-06-2025 and scheduled for a deliver and install on the 13th of November. On the morning of the 13th I received a call from a guy who's English was so bad, I could not understand him. He was trying to tell me that the technician called in sick and we had to reschedule. We rescheduled for the 28th. When the date came and went, nobody showed up. No phone call, no nothing. Not a peep. I called the phone number that I thought was directly to the store but it is really directed to an off shore call center. I discovered they never bothered to assign a tech to the appointment. I cancelled the order at that time. I went into the store the following day and explained what happened and had to repeat myself at least three times because I was getting that deer in the headlights look from the clerk and manager. This is only for my poor experience with Geek squad My hp envy laptop was having issues where it wouldn't boot up properly with the caps light flashing 5 times intervals which online said it could be a processor issue. I called and spoke with someone on the Geek squad team and they told me that I could bring in my laptop and they could try to back up the hard drive to external drive for $106. What she failed to tell me is that their data management system that's used to backup hard drives has been down I only found out after taking a $40 Lyft since I have no car and I was told that that data management machine has been down for 2 months! The guy suggested I try the Cherryhill location so I requested a Lyft to go there and fortunately their machine was working but had separate issue at that location. So if you're looking to have your broken laptop hard drive backed up to external drive call them first and make sure to ask! read more

Came into bestbuy deptford location last night to price match a CPU that was on sale at Micro Center. Mind you not even 24hr since I priced matched another CPU from that exact bestbuy location that was on sale at Micro Center . They was making up all types of rules oh if it's local it has to be within 25 miles when jawn maps the micro center in north jersey oh it's 90 miles away. Micro Center isn't a little mom and pop shop. It's Micro center you price match them period. Then oh I don't see it on the list and my computer is giving errors. Then oh it has to be sold & shipped by Micro center it can't be a store reservation. Mind you I dropped $15k at this location last year and this year I've dropped $2k so far and I'm a Totaltech member. All I do is shop and price match . . I called corporate and they priced match right away with no problems at all. Agent Sandra Hall literally said everything's automatic and that when she hits price match on bestbuy.com a list of stores shows and one of the stores was Micro center with the price of $499.99 the same price I was trying to match . It's already automatically in the Bestbuy system period. She didn't have to go to the Micro center website and double check. . The thing that really pisses me off is the fact that the manager claimed that I was yelling at him and that he was intimidated for no reason. Literally it has to be cause I'm brown. I do not normally write bad reviews, but am making an exception in this case because I am so angry. Felt like I was taken advantage of with underhanded business practices. I will not ever patronize Best Buy again. I purchased a vacuum on September 28 and used my Best Buy card for 0 interest payments for a year. I made a payment three days later on October 1, and then paid the remainder of the vacuum on November 1. They charged me a late fee for October which I thought had to be a mistake, and admittedly let it go a couple of months because the thought of having to deal with customer service was not ideal, and again, this had to be a mistake right? It was not a mistake. When I called to figure out why I was given the first late fee it was nearly impossible to get a live human on the phone, and when I did, I got the run around and was told that if I had made the first payment on the 3rd of October, I would not have gotten a late fee which is insane to me. The associate clearly had their talking points as to why they were correct, and I just gave up. Ended up paying the late fees and canceling my card which I had for years. I purchased $799 an LG washing machine at Best Buy in Deptford NJ. Then there was a $30 delivery fee. Then a $50 removal of old washer fee, then a $39 install fee, then a mandatory $35 new water hose fee, then they tell me my existing pedestal by the same manufacture will not fit ,that will be another another $259. So my $799 washer cost about $1300 after tax. It will take 10 days to deliver it. It finally gets delivered today, and ait wont fit down my basement steps. I told the delivery it will take me about 3 minutes to remove the shelf. He would not wait! he took a picture and called his supervisor. i had the shelf out when the supervisor called me back. the delivery people are still out in front of my house and they wont come back in to deliver the washer! The best buy guy on the phone is telling me they can come back in a week. I said they are outside my house now! Then he hung up on me. I will NEVER buy another appliance or product again from Best Buy. The service was absolutely horrendous! ...I could only imagine how bad it would be after the sale I called the store and told them don't bother delivering the machine, KEEP IT! I went to a local appliance store, Albo's, and got a better washer, an Electrolux, with no delivery fee, no hook up fee, no take away old machine fee. I bought the upgraded stainless steel hoses for the same price as Best Buy's rubber hose, plus a five year service contract for about $100 more. but now I'm getting a $1000 washer, and a service contract! The staff isn't very friendly here, I asked a simple question about an in store pick up and got an smart answer which never did answer my question. Quick overview: Be careful looking at reviews from over 3-4 months ago, a lot has changed. This particular Best Buy branch is not like it used to be. There is minimal staff and they seem to have minimal knowledge. Further, on the internet you can likely find not only better prices, but also better and faster help/assistance online via chat or calling. My recent experience: Yesterday, a Saturday, they had literally only two people working in the TV and audio. I know they only had two because after waiting for an hour by the checkout stand in that area I essentially started stalking the only employee who I had seen in that area over the last hour, and even I asked for help he told me there were only two of them working and he was busy and couldn't help me. Not that he would be with me in a minute. Not that he would call someone else to help. Just straight up that he couldn't help me Note, the help I needed was paying for $5k-ish of home audio equipment. I told him I would just go home and order it online, and he didn't say anything but gave me a "thank goodness, now I don't have to help you also" look. Thus, I went home and started looking online. My future plans will be to buy from online retailers like Amazon, parts express, B&H, new egg, crutchfield, etc. Even if it costs a little more, which it likey won't, at least I don't have go to a store and wait around for extended periods of time to convince employees to take my money. Honestly, it is sort of sad as Best Buy seems (or seemed I should say) to be the last decent brick and mortar electronics store, at least in South Jersey. However, now it appears to be heading down the "soon to be forgotten" dark road. Question for Best Buy management: I doubt they read reviews, but if they do here is a question (and I'm not asking this rhetorically, I really would like an answer). Why should I shop at Best Buy? The prices aren't great compared to online only retailers. The effort and work to get products from Best Buy is more (ie. Driving to store, waiting extensive periods for help, loading into car, etc ). Really, the only Best Buy advantage is seeing and hearing items. However, with no employees answering questions or assisting with checkout in a timely manner, that advantage is drastically reduced. In fact, it creates a "try (at Best Buy) before your buy (at lowest priced online retailer)" scenario. Conclusion: I have a feeling that a few years from now Best Buy, at least this location, will grouped into the "remember when we used to go to" conversations with the likes of Blockbuster, Radio Shack, Borders, Circuit City, Power Records, Sam Goodies, etc. read more

Let me first state that I have only lived in this area for a little over a year, so I have not always shopped at your particular store. I did pick up my TV from your store and a host of other items. I purchased a home theater system from the Magnolia department of Best Buy in Mount Laurel. When the consultant came to my house he asked what I would be doing with the Bose surround sound system that I had. I explained to him that the subwoofer was making an uncharacteristic sound (which is to say, it sounded blown) and I would not be doing anything with it. He asked if I had had it for less than one year. I replied, "Yes." He then told me that Bose had a 1 year warranty on their speakers and that I could bring it back for replacement. He then asked me to allow him time to make sure before I brought it in. The next day, Saturday, January 19, 2019 he sent me a copy of my receipt showing that I had in fact purchased the items in June of 2018 and that I could bring it back. I was at work at the time but I planned to take the speaker to the store once I was done work. I arrived at Best Buy of Deptford Saturday evening on the 19th. I took the subwoofer to the customer service counter. I explained what had occurred to your associate. He took my receipt and went into his "supervisor's" office. He came back and told me I had to take the subwoofer to Mount Laurel since they told me that!!!! As far as I have learned the return policy is from Bose. The professional who helped me from the Mount Laurel store didn't ask which store I purchased it from. He simply stated what could be done with defective equipment. I took the speaker to the Mount Laurel store and they helped me. They even wondered why your store couldn't help. Personally I believe it to be a matter of wouldn't help versus couldn't help. Everything has been handled no thanks to the so called professionals at your store. I wrote an email to the store manager, who of course was not there the night this all happened. Anyone who wants a better shopping experience please take the drive to the Mount Laurel store - YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! The Mount Laurel store is significantly larger and they have everything! In addition to this review I plan to tell anyone and everyone I come in contact with not to shop at your store. I truly hope people listen because that was the worst experience I have ever had at a Best Buy location. Mount Laurel is not close to me, however, the drive is worth it because I get to deal with consummate professionals at that location. One loaded me up on so much computer jargon I just looked at him and said "uhhh what " all I want is the difference. I even explained to this kid I was "computer illiterate " so please explain it to me like I was a 5 year old. I also enjoy the guy or girl that comes up to you and asks if you've been helped. Finally I thought an employee sees a customer in need of assistance. They ask you questions , what do you need, who is it for, what is your name. That last one got me when I asked why do you need to know my name? Response given: Oh so I can find a representative to assist you better, when I give them this info. I don't know about you , but that whole thing was pointless. I felt I just went nowhere, because that "so called" rep asks me the same EXACT thing after I had already told. This Best Buy is about like any other one we've ever been in. Not bad, not outstanding, with non-competetive high prices. Hubby likes to stop in to check out the sale bins of DVDs when we're in Deptford or nearby, but if it weren't for him, I'd probably forget the store existed. In the past, we've bought appliances and a laptop at BB (different store, different state), but those have been our only major purchases. The transactions went well, and we did get good prices on those, but truthfully, when we think of looking for a good deal on anything, Best Buy is never, ever the first place we think to check. Hubby found some good movies in the sale bins, today, but the one that he really went in to buy, "The Incredibles" was still marked at just under $20...for a 14-year-old movie? Come on! He can be a pretty patient guy; he'll wait for it at Walmart. Poor, Poor Black People Service! I came to this Best Buy location to get my husbands cell phone fixed by Geek Squad. I'm standing near the counter waiting to be served. A man was standing at the register for about 10 minutes, never acknowledges me and just walks away. So, I continue waiting patiently for the other worker to finish with his customers. While I'm waiting a white gentleman walks up with his computer. Came here because Samsung customer service told me to come here, gave me the hours 10 AM-9PM. Rushed here after weekly service with my phone that needs complex diagnostics around 8:30 PM, and Will stood at customer service and refused to accept the phone on behalf of the Samsung people, saying he could not take the phone even though I drove a long way to get here. Basically, was the least helpful experience I've ever had with customer service, and he did not even understand the issues with my phone... Almost like his eyes were open and his ears were closed. Kept saying things about warranty after I explained it was out of warranty, etc... tried to be nice to this guy but this was the worst experience I've ever had. It would be so much easier just to make an appointment at an Apple Store. However the gentleman that helped me, Gabriel was excellent he originally had told me that he would not be able to help me because there was not a tech on duty even though I had made an appointment online. I seldom post a review but i need to post this time. Never ever buy home appliances here again. Costumer service is not good. No good communication with the delivery dates, kept promising of the delivery dates and have thousands of reasons when the near day comes for the delivery.I have to call them if they are coming or not. I ordered a dishwasher and range here. The dishwasher delivery was not great .They have to come back twice to deliver it and so many confusions of the first delivery. I have to spent hours to communicate with their Costumer Service to explain and resked my appoinment for the replacement of the dishwasher. I have to refuse it due to dents of the appliance. Since i spent hours in the telephone communicating with the Costumer Service communicating with them & confusion of their peeps i just decided to go to their store. It is easier. I gave them a second chance for the other appliance that i ordered with them. I thought because of the pandemic and it is causing them with lack of peeps due to sickness,etc. I waited for months. The first promise month was delayed and i i understood due to Covid cases. During my waiting time, no one communicated with me of the delays of the Range that i ordered. It just happened that i browse my email and saw my order number .I remembered i have to follow up my order. I went to the store to follow up because it is easier to follow up in person i guess, and found out that the range is already available and can be delivered. I scheduled for the delivery and told that i will be expecting a call from them a day before delivery. 1st sked delivery- didn't happened due to the bad weather, resked... 2nd sked delivery- no call, i have to call and verify if they are coming.. not coming again due to something happened to the appliance in their store room and i have never encountered as bad as this situation. I went into the store yesterday looking for an adware/malware software for a problem with my computer. No one was in line at the geek squad line and I ended up waiting for 15 min until some one came out to talk to me. Both people in the back looked at me at least a dozen times until one of them came out. I informed him of what I was looking for. He stated I had a virus and I would have to purchase at least the 199.99 plan for them to look at my computer. Funny that my problem was diagnosed with out my laptop being there. We've had a terrible time with getting the new sound bar, Polk, to work. Also, our bill came in as a lump sum, but not itemized. Calling on the phone is frustrating! Sunday, we'll be visiting the store to see if we can get an itemization. Jose was pleasant. The in home advisor, Steve, was useless after the purchase. We definitely would not recommend to use them ever! So far, I've cancelled our dryer and the system doesn't have this registered yet,but it was cancelled on 7/13/19.
