My son and I visited Best Buy on Rt 10 East Hanover yesterday 9/6/26. We needed to address a printer's malfunction. At customer service, we had the most satisfying experience, not because we got, necessarily, what we wanted but because of the person behind the desk: Anthony. What a breath of fresh air!!!!! Anthony helped us with much kindness, respect, knowledge and patience!!!! He had a "Will help" and "can do" attitude. He was the only person there and the line was getting longer but he did not lose his patience and was determined to give us the best possible resolution to our problem. We appreciate very much his help. And if Best Buy's managers read this review, thank you for employing great people at your store. 2026 has been loaded with a lot of "only me" moments, and my recent trip to this Best Buy was no exception. I had the misfortune of my car's screen conking out on me, so I decided to try to have Geek Squad do an installation. I booked an appointment online and it's like pulling teeth trying to figure out exactly which parts to buy since you need to go to your appointment with everything ready. There are many components needed if you want a new screen that will work with your backup cam and/or steering wheel controls. Prior to the appointment, I went with my fiancé to inquire about which screens would be the best option for me. We went to the Geek Squad desk, and I explained to an employee that I had an upcoming appointment. I said I wanted to get input from GS in advance on which radios I should browse at the store. The employee walked away and came back a few minutes later to tell me, "The auto technician isn't in right now, but he'll be here tomorrow. So, we can make suggestions today, but they might not be the best suggestions." This was one of the most ridiculous interactions I've ever had at a store, I couldn't believe the absurdity of it. So I wasted my time going there, now I should waste even more time by going again in hopes of speaking to someone for a pretty simple question? After this absolute joke, I cancelled my appointment and ended up going to a specialty shop that knew what they were doing. read more

Abysmal customer service. Ordered a product from Best Buy that was supposed to arrive a week ago. Package deemed lost. Hours spent on the phone between Best Buy, UPS, and the delivery company they subcontracted with. Nobody can help us. Eventually we cancel the order. Have to dispute charge on credit card. We go into the store to try and buy the same product and they refuse to honor the price we bought it at. The store manager offers to call the 800 customer service number for us to see if they'd honor the price. But the Best Buy employee couldn't figure out how to work the phone! Can't make this shit up. Once she figured out how to dial the number, she handed it to my wife and walked away. We already did this on our own, we wanted a Best Buy representative to call with us to help get it sorted out. We left at this point. We try calling the Rockaway store to see if someone can help us and you can't reach anyone in the store - you get a call center in Panama City. You will not get any assistance at this Best Buy! If you're looking to purchase an appliance that you'll need help with-go elsewhere. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment because I've been to this location several times and each time I've left frustrated. You will wait 30 minutes plus for help, and then the person will have no idea about the item. One time I was struggling trying to get a tv to the register and several employees walked by and didn't offer any assistance. There's always police activity in the parking lot which is weird. I don't know if people are stealing from BB or if they ride around and run the plates of the parked cars?! Someone is always being questioned or being given a ticket in that lot. I am Very aware of that "Blank Stare" that alot of Best Buy associates can offer you. Not just talking about this store, but at most B.B.s., or even worse than that is when the B.B. sales associate BullSh*ts you and acts like they know what they're talking about. Trust me on this because they probably don't. I mean some of them do, which is great. But some of them Don't Even Know What it is that They're Trying To Sell You!! Sad but True! Now here comes Melissa. And I can tell you that She Knows what she's talking about in Home Entertainment equipment. She is very knowledgeable and pleasant. She explaines options and differences between each home entertainment setup with solid choices that make sense. They sold me an "open box" pc, saying it was opened for display. A day later I realize the camera is broken- it's a full hardware issue. I take it back, they shrug, say "you can refund it if you don't want it." I complain to the manager, she can't do anything. As I'm walking out, she offers me 15$ on my next Best Buy purchase- I decline. I go back, they offer another "open box," I insist I check it first. It's really a hit or miss with this location. Last time I was here on Black Friday, I had such great service from this one young man associate. Then today, I had the exact opposite experience. I had to ask 3 different people for assistance. The first one, turned out to be one of the managers, Ruby. She was too engrossed in a conversation with a colleague to assist me so she paiged someone else. However, after 5 mins, no one showed up so I asked another person, wearing yellow. She rudely told me she was with another customer and couldn't help me. Didnt even offer to get someone else. The 3rd time, I asked someone who was stocking shelves and she paiged someone else who ended up helping me. On Monday I went into Best Buy to look at washer/dryer combos. I met Tahji & she went over the different models with me. I didn't have allot of space & she was very knowledgeable on the product information, she had an answer for every question and she was extremely friendly. I felt confident in the information she had given me so I went home and did some research. Today, I went back to Best Buy to purchase the machine - but had one more important question. Tahji was off but Topher helped me out. He was also very knowledgeable and friendly. Very impressive staff. Great personalities too. I purchased the Whirlpool. The price was very reasonable- It's the perfect size, and it has a glass top, soft close washer with the dryer on top. They have free delivery and only charged me $30 to hook it up. Just a little side note: I went to PC Richard first. When he priced out a similar machine for me they charge $75 for delivery and $150 to install. This review is for curbside pickup only, but we had a really great experience. Our order was ready the same day but we showed up the following night and expected delays. To our surprise there were plenty of parking spaces that were marked for curbside pickup. We checked in via phone and our order was out to our car within minutes and was placed safely in our trunk after they checked our order and ID. I booked an appointment to service my 7th generation ipod ( I know, old school but I don't like listening to music from my phone while I work out). On the website, I entered my product information and the service I was requesting. Once I got to my service appointment with the geek squad, the service for my device is no longer provided ( it's considered vintage lol). We're doing a full kitchen remodel so went to Best Buy to get a refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. We went to the Appliance section and the only person working there said they were a manager so they couldn't help us, but would send someone over. We waited 10 minutes and no one ever showed up so we left. Went to Lowe's and got all our appliances purchased after a very helpful salesperson explained everything to us. Absolutely horrible! I ordered an electric stove and was told that installing it would be part of delivery. But when they showed up today they wanted to leave it in the middle of my living room floor still in the box! I told them no and to put it in the space in the kitchen where it belonged and they got mad. They also refused to install it! When I told them that is unacceptable they got nasty and verbally abusive and called me a "stupid Americano" and a denigrating slur about being female!! Then they slammed the cables down on the top of the stove and left! Disgraceful! I called customer service to report their behavior but they didn't give a crap! I purchased a phone that I was given information about by the employee, and it turned out to be false causing the phone to be useless to me. I got home and set up the phone and called the 1800 number about the problem. The lady on the phone said that because the customer service associate gave me bad information the store would be able to waive the restocking fee. This store will not, and they sold me a trash phone based on bad information. They took no accountability and claimed that they can't help it if new employees don't know anything about their product. BB is truly hit or miss. Either you have 5 people offering you help when you don't need it or you have to search for them when you do. I only go here when I absolutely have to. I find it to be overpriced for the same merchandise you get on Amazon. Advantage here is you have the tangible product in hand at the moment of purchase. Their returns are simple (like Amazon). Layout is a bit all over the place. Staff is young and the one person we had helping us was friendly/knowledgeable. It's a good stop for wires/cables or accessories. Poor service from installation department. I came in to buy and have installed an apple CarPlay head unit, steering wheel mounts, backup camera and maybe even speakers. I was rushed and not really helped at all. The representative was constantly pushing for me to basically leave and order everything online. (If I wanted to order online I would have) Would not do any installation even though I had an appointment. Wasn't interested in searching for anything that I could have installed that day. After I left, I noticed him running not out the door with a coffee, jumped in his car and drove off. I guess his lunch break meant more than my service. Do not do business with Best Buy East Hanover if you want a large screen smart tv installed. We purchased a 50 inch Samsung tv there on July 20. We were promised in writing delivery and installation at our home by July 23. By a third party installer. When no confirmation phone call came on July 22, we tried to call the store with the number given to us and listed on the store website. We learned that one cannot contact the store , the salesperson , or the installer directly The first of several calls on long holds (an hour or more each). The first of many "escalations" to attempted installation on July 24. The system was promising July 26, today, the day before my planned surgery. After many long holds and unsuccessful escalations we learned that somehow no installation was available until July 28 or July 29. Going once or twice more to the store did not help. On July 24, with NO installation date apparently available, after five or more hours of on hold and brief phone contacts, we went to the store and cancelled our entire order. We then went to P C Richard and started over. Of course, after cancelling our Best Buy order, we got two phone calls today, confirming installation today then tomorrow. Too little, too late. Best Buy has no phones in the store and no direct communication with the store, customer service , or any supervisor. Thus it took us many unnecessary hours to arrange, rearrange, and finally give up on installation, only to have the insulting calls today about installation after we had cancelled the entire order. Because one cannot communicate with Best Buy or the third party installer, we will never do business with Best Buy again Best Buy needs to communicate much more effectively and sensitively with its customers read more

This Best Buy location is just as good as any other normal Best Buy place. Average customer service in person. The staff is helpful and friendly, however, the whole location needs to work on picking up their phone calls. This branch would be rated much higher in my opinion if I was not on hold for over 30 minutes. I'm pretty sure people have general questions about the stock of an item or the terms around the release of a new product, but they can't find an answer because no one picks up the phones. I've tried calling multiple areas of the store just to get in contact with someone, and still no luck. read more

I have never been treated so poorly in my life. The security guard Charles has no communication skills and acts like he owns the place. While making a return he walks over without knowing what's going on and verbally attacks me. I ask him for his name and position when leaving the store and then he starts screaming at me while I'm walking out. The manager had to escort him back into the store. I wanted to buy the new Apple Watch Ultra. The watch was on display but was tied down so it could not be tried on. Nevertheless I said I wanted to buy it. The so called specialist" helping me (who knew very little about the product) said someone else would have to get the watch from the stockroom. After waiting 10 minutes and not getting the watch, and seeing three other salespeople just standing around (including the watch "specialist") I asked what was going on. The specialist said the salesperson who was supposed to get the watch was still busy with another customer. I asked if someone else could get it for me. The specialist said she would see if anyone else was available, and disappeared. After waiting another 5 minutes with no watch, I walked out and went to buy it at the Apple Store for a little more money. The sales staff at this Best Buy were worthless. read more

I went in to BB to purchase a TV and schedule an appointment for an in-home consultation to redo our surround sound. When I never received a follow up call, I contacted them again on Sunday. They couldn't locate my record, but assured me that a new appointment was created. I was told I would receive a phone call with a timeframe for the appointment. It is now the night before the scheduled day and I never received a call. I called them again and spent over an hour with someone trying to locate my appointment (mind you I consistently told the rep that someone must have scheduled it wrong so please just fix this and have someone come out). He refused to listen and kept looking for an appointment that didn't exist. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told he'd call me back. I said no and demanded to speak to him now. I was then told by the rep that his hours were over and he won't get paid overtime. I am simply to wait for a call back. I have never been more disgusted with a process. If this is the kind of competence they have for their services then THANKS BUT NO THANKS !!! I WILL NOT SPEND ANY MORE MONEY THERE. I have frequently purchased items at Best Buy and in general I have had no complaints - that's why I gave it 3 stars. They are not really able to FULLY service Verizon customers. Today I purchased a phone and spent almost $1000! The first question: Can you transfer my data? They said YES. But after the sale was complete and 2 hours later -- they said they could not transfer the data. Huge disappointment!! They sent me to a Verizon store - and they would not transfer the data because I had not bought the phone there. Time and money and I still need to go to another phone store. I would not have bought the phone. They are not really able to service Verizon customers. read more

HORRIFIC SERVICE FOR HOME APPLIANCES. I rarely write reviews, but this is fully warranted. Apologies for it being long! I ordered a refrigerator through Best Buy online and it was scheduled for delivery and install today. I have an existing waterline with a dedicated valve shutoff so selected the option that did not require a new line. The installers arrive and refuse to install because the valve was not directly behind the fridge (it is directly below in basement). Proximity of the valve was NOT disclosed anywhere on the Website. The installers would not leave the kitchen and even when I turned the main water line off, they saw some water dripping (normal) when they feebly tried to disconnect for me, and stopped and would not continue for "liability reasons". They said I would need to get a plumber. My husband is a licensed plumber. customer service stated I could disconnect the line myself, which I tried to clumsily do with a wrench I admittedly have no idea how to use while the installers watched me struggle, hovered and repeatedly sighed in frustration. The customer service rep then told me I was taking too long and they had to leave. i had many not nice things to say and finally agreed to them leaving the new fridge and coming back to haul off old. I asked for a manager - none was available for DAYS. I asked to schedule the haul off appt, and they couldn't until tomorrow. the worst part - while waiting for them to bring in new fridge, I hear them outside packing up and I run out and they are driving away without leaving my fridge. I had to chase them down, they say oh ok, start to back up. I go to open garage, look back and they are driving away for good. even after this debacle, customer service could not contact their delivery team ("company policy?") and said a manager would contact me within 5 days. They also couldn't schedule a new appt for me without me calling again in the morning. Needless to say, i am cancelling my order and will never shop there again. I have NEVER been treated so horribly by a company and suggest to all that you go to local appliance suppliers whenever possible (those that still exist). I have never yelled at service providers, but if Best Buy thinks it's ok to have their customers misled, rushed and then running after their box truck for the product I paid for, they have another thing coming. Went in this past Sunday to purchase a washing machine. Staff could not have been nicer. As I made my selection the first question I asked, was it available for immediate delivery? The salesperson said yes and wrote up the order. The delivery was scheduled for yesterday(Tuesday). My wife received a call that they were on their way and she headed home. The truck arrives at my house and the driver says " we dont have a machine to deliver to you". Well why would you be stopping at my house if you dont have the machine???? Then to top it off one of the guys says" do you want us to take the other machine out." Were they looking for a tip? Both she and I contacted the geek squad seperately and dealt with a HORRIBLE person named Alexis. Worse yet, she is the manager so we couldnt even get above her. While we were dealing with her, I also reached out to the general manager of the store to try and get clarity of why I did not get the washing machine. He was at a loss as the inventory shows over 130 units in the warehouse. Upon bringing this to Alexis attention she said "he has no idea what he is talking about, I'm in the warehouse and there are none here." This woman could not give one hoot about the situation and did not try to reconcile the situation in any way. I told her I was very unhappy and would contact my credit card company to dispute the charge, she could care less. I have now placed the order with Lowes and actually paid less money and will get tomorrow as well. Came in today for a last minute screen replacement on my iPhone X. I popped in earlier than my appointment time and was still able to be seen. Before I left, I was told that my screen replacement might take 2-4 hours because the Geek Squad had other phones and computers to tend to that day. However, Dion took great care of my phone and was able to do the screen replacement in an hour and a half. I wasn't expecting it to be done so quickly, but I'm really grateful he was able to be so helpful and efficient. Dion is super friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.
