Worst place ever. I was there for Black Friday deals, and one of the Hispanic supervisors were helping me. He had just assisted me with applying for the Best Buy credit card, which I was approved for. I asked him to show me the Sony bluetooth speakers and I was in the process of purchasing one, which, at the time, was about six hundred and fifty dollars. To make a long story short, someone else came over looking to also purchase a Bluetooth speaker and the guy literally just walked away and left me standing there, I walked away and the people he abandoned me for I did not make a purchase. I went up the block PC richards, and made my purchase. The customer service was much better, and I actually got the Sony bluetooth speaker for a 100 bucks less. read more

I looked at other reviews and they're right: this place sucks. Idk if it's because it's the Bronx and everyone here is ghetto and hates their life or if it's something else I'm not seeing but here's a breakdown: 1. Store is unorganized 2. Floor staff don't speak English. At all. Asked for help looking for something and he just stared at me and basically told me to go look around. 3. Register staff don't know store policy, features or promotions. I was given conflicting information and had to provide them with the accurate info instead.. 4. Customer service is curt and un-engaging like they're being forced to service you. 5. Item stock is abysmal. I was told by staff that this location had far less to offer than others. I wanted to give it a chance because ppl always complain about the Bronx and I'm defensive bc this is my home but they're right about some stuff. Ppl here, establishments here, it's like walking into Hell. You wouldn't get this kind of poor service in Downtown Brooklyn, Queens or Manhattan! Granted the area is very rundown with addicts, the homeless, the mentally ill and thieves so I'm sure they get burnt out working in Best Buy but that's another conversation for another day. I may pop in for a quick item or two but if I need to do thoughtful or meticulous shopping, I'm switching boroughs and making the trip to another location instead. Hope this helps. read more

The service here is horrendous . There is barely any staff working to assist customers. Waiting time to purchase unreasonable. I stopped by to purchase an apple charger . I went upstairs one worker sent me to where apple products located no help available. I finally found out the chargers kept on first floor at least a half hour wait , only one person working at customer service. Best Buy you have to do better with staffing and customer service. This is the only time I have written a bad review on this site. But, if I went to a bagel place, asked for a plain toasted bagel with creme cheese, and they gave me an untoasted bagel and butter, suggested I repurchase the cheese, then sent me home to toast my own bagel, while they took hours to unsuccessfully operate a toaster and told me how hard it was, or just simply handed me a turd while telling me to eat it, I would do the same. The geek squad made me feel like I was in a bad skit. I bought a laptop and hoped to have the licensed software neatly done without needing to interface with my redemption codes so when I fired up my computer for time sensitive work it would be closer to being ready to go. I mean, if I dropped over a grand and they suggested the service, would that not be a reasonable hope? Do I ask too much, have too much faith my fellow man despite their humanity? They were unable to install a group of programs. It was the toasted plain bagel of with crème cheese of instillation. A simple packet including basic antivirus, office, and adobe reader. I later discovered they were frantically googling how to install different programs then the one I had purchased, given them receipt for, and stated I had purchased... no less than four times. I am not the most tech savvy person, but even I noticed they were entering the own codes for instillation incorrectly. After some time one of the managers noticed that as well and successfully performed the instillation in under five minutes. The person assisting me insisted she had done everything correctly. As far as professionalism, I am hard to disappoint. I really do not expect much from BestBuy. I am not the secretary of defense reviewing the Marine Corps silent drill team on November 10th and do not aspire to airs as such. I, like any other reasonable person, am entitled to basic professionalism and courtesy in a transactional setting, especially one above a thousand-dollar threshold. I would be much less upset if they simply told they could or would not help me rather than subjecting me to a farce. I also know honey catches more flies than vinegar and at no times showed my frustration or spoke with any less politeness than "sir, ma'am, please, and thank you", so I am convinced this was not a result of rudeness or hostility on my part. While the staff member wasted 172 minutes of my time and kept trying to wander off, the staff member would often pause to loudly snort while pursuing their lips and say something like "this is really hard" or "I don't understand". As they did not seek guidance from another staff member to resolve the issues that they had expressed to me, I began to suspect they were just not that invested in doing their job and helping me at that time. This sentiment was reinforced when they started to try to get me to repurchase software I had just bought upstairs from another part of the store. As it seemed like they were trying to get rid of me, I suggested that if they were having difficulties with a part of the instore receipt, or that they call the source that it came from, or simply have them replace it with an activation code "that works". They told me they just would not do that because the person who had sold me the program "could be helping another customer". I really started to think they were messing with me until I realized some of the staff is truly that untrained and certain individuals are just kind of... slow, like people who breathe by relaxing their jaw inadvertently when they think. Bless their hearts. So, as sit here while I install my new overpriced programs, on my new overpriced computer, basic programs that other people were paid to install, I need to see the big picture. I will forget that I also paid 172 minutes of my life, my partner's life, and a further 172 irrevocable minutes of the lives of other customers (almost a workday in lost man-hours) I don't blame the staff member who helped me. I also don't blame BestBuy. The way I see it, they cannot be in business if that is how business is normally done there. It must be the fault of an upper manager at that specific location for failing to uphold basic standards of training, readiness and proficiency for their operation. Still, I will put them on blast on every site that I can think of and tell every person I can about these deficiencies. read more

My recent visit to Best Buy was the the best shopping experience I have ever had. I was in dire need of a new phone (my Galaxy S4 was shattered after dropping it at work 2 months earlier) and decided to stroll in to my local Best Buy to see what my options are. I've heard a lot of negative stuff about the Fordham Best Buy, but I was willing to take my chances. Thank the tech gods I did! I was helped by two of the amazing staff at the Mobile & Activation dept, Diamond and Jahne (excuse my spelling- it may be off). They walked me through the whole process, helped me make the decision on which iPhone fit what I was looking for (I decided on an iPhone 8 Plus). They were extremely patient while speaking to Sprint customer service to verify some information. They answered all my questions, gave me tips on using my iPhone, and helped me get totally set up with an Apple ID and all that jazz. They both took their time to help me decide on the accessories to protect my iPhone, being that I work in healthcare and do a lot of running around at work. I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. I walked out of there with a brand new phone & feeling like I made some new tech savvy friends. THANK YOU! read more

The only reason my boyfriend and I made the drive out to this Best Buy is because the TV he wanted (TCL) was sold out at all Best Buys within 250 miles, except for this one. Luckily, we found 1-hour metered parking right on the side of the store. The service here was...horrible. The woman who helped us was so slow, and kind of just disappeared on us for awhile after she said she would go get the TV. We did have a funny moment, though, when she asked my boyfriend why we were getting this brand of TV. GURL, you don't know!! I feel like a lot of Best Buy employees don't really read up on the latest tech news. But my boyfriend had been doing months of research on this particular TV and hey, it was sold out everywhere else. Then, we asked for some help to bring the TV downstairs and outside to the car. Beware: their in-store prices do not match their online prices. I recently visited this location to buy a new phone case, and selected one that was under a $15 sticker. After I purchased the phone case and a charger, I saw that the case was listed as $49.99 on my receipt. I went back to the cashier and asked about the price difference - he said the case was in the wrong location and told me I could return it. I returned it and left feeling frustrated. Later that day, I searched the case on Google and saw it listed for $23.99. When I clicked on the image, I was shocked that it brought me to the Best Buy website. I do not understand how something can be $49.99 in store and $23.99 on their website. I called the store thinking there must be some kind of mistake. They explained this is why Best Buy has price match, and said I can show this in-store and pay the lower amount. Maybe I have a severe misunderstanding of what price match is, but I thought this was matching prices of local competitors - not your own website. Moral of the story -- if you need something from here, check their website and price match or just buy online. read more

I had literally, the worst experience ever at this particular Best Buy location. I purchased an open box laptop online for store pick-up at this location. When I got there, I picked up my item without a problem. I checked my receipt against the label on the box to ensure that I was leaving the store with what I had purchased. When I got home and finally got around to opening the box, I realized that the laptop in the box was an inferior model to the one I had paid for. I had to then go all the way back to this store to have them fix this situation. Apparently, some genius grabbed the wrong box and slapped on the purchase order sticker over the box label, so it looked like I had the right item. The manager was called and we went upstairs to see if they had another one. They tried to sell me something else, but I explained to them that after a lot of research, I had determined that this particular model was perfect for my video editing needs, and the model had tons of positive feedback. They found another unit, so we took it downstairs to the Geek Squad area where they turned it on and found that there was no operating system installed. This computer was on the shelf, boxed and ready to sell with a Geek Squad certified sticker on it, but nobody realized that there was no operating system installed? They asked me to come back within the hour while the operating system installed. I took a walk...went shopping, ate, sat around Best Buy to finally be told that the unit was defected. At this point, I was ready to just have them cancel the order and cancel the card I had applied for because I only applied for credit just to purchase that particular computer. The manager went upstairs telling me she would make it up to me to just wait a minute. So I thought maybe I get hooked up with something better and that I'd get a nice little discount, or manager discount. But no. She came down with yet another unit that was a floor model. There was an employee log-in on it, so basically I would have to wait for them to wipe the machine clean and reset to factory. It was close to closing time, so they asked if I could come back the following day. I had already spent 3 hours in this store. I cancelled the order and going to call Best Buy and have them cancel my card. I will never, ever purchase anything from Best Buy again. The level of incompetence is mind boggling. I ordered Sony Vaio online at their website and opted to arrange an in-store pickup. i was given a quick call-back and I urged the rep to get my order ready as soon as possible as it was kinda a present to my brother (he is military returning home). This probably raised some red flags as a "suspicious situation". Anyway, I spent half a day with them on the phone confirming this and that and finally I was granted an opportunity to come to this location and get my laptop (I knew by that time it must have been a lot easier and faster just to win some nice Ebay lot). When I came to Best Buy I was told that my order was still held "for verification purposes"! I could not stand that any longer so I took this matter right to the branch manager's table. The issue was quickly resolved and I was given a small gift as a reward for my consistence. I wonder how many orders do get fulfilled this way. read more

Wish I could give more stars. The 1st sales rep almost took me to an unhappy place but came thru because all I needed her to do was pretend they didn't have an item so I could surprise my son with it on Xmas which she did once she knew what I wanted was simple. The 2nd sales rep was AMAZING not only did she help me to further pull off the plan she explain all the xtra fees (most reps just add on) she also explained how to apply the codes. She wasn't in a rush and never got irritated as I added on other things to my order as she went to retrieve what I ordered. Yeah yeah yeah she was at work and it's her job, but I added on like 3 other things as she went to shop for what I asked for. It felt like I was shopping with a friend. i was in dire need of a tv. i purchased a tv from the fordam road store on november 7, 2022. i was told my tv would be delivered november 11. 2022. i received a call 7:25 am on november 11, 2022 the tv was not available. i then received an email the tv would be delivered by 1:05 pm the same day. then learned it was being delivered by 7pm same day. i called to learn they wont deliver it until november 16, 2022. after missing a day of work this is unacceptable. i asked to speak with a supervisor or manager they unfortunately were too busy to speak with me. ill be visiting the store in the morning if i dont hear from them by end of tonight. i only gave one star because you cant post unless u leave a star. read more

This is the worse store ever! I called the Geek Squad for electronic advice. I purchased a router on-line and then went to the Bronx store (10468) to pick it up, their professionalism was absent and needed an overhaul. I had to cancel the original order and pick it up upstairs, again where I was met with a lack of professionalism. Then to add insult to injury, the product was defective. I attempted to return it at another location in Connecticut and was told the usual 30 day policy was voided, now its 15 days and I had to return it to the original purchase store, in the Bronx. Once I returned to this venomous store, I was told it was three days over the return policy. I immediately called customer service to complain and asked for an extension since I am an essential worker that lives outside of the Bronx. They were professional enough to pacify my request, saying no but telling me to speak to a store manager at their deplorable Bronx store. I rather keep a non-working device, close my account/membership and purchase with another electronic store that honors their products and respects their customers! read more

I ordered an INSIGNIA REFRIGERATOR 10 CU refrigerator during their Memorial Day sale this year to replace a Sears model. I purchased it with a service warranty ( which I now realize was a scam ). I set the unit at 3 and it got cold real fast. It gave me no problem until September when the rattling noise from the freezer became audible. I contacted a Geek Squad member who was contacted the Insignia associate to come today but I received a call an hour ago saying he couldn't come in to do repairs & I WOULD HAVE TO BRING THIS UNIT IN! With what? I don't own a flatbed truck! Reason being? They have a policy of working on "certain" units & mine wasn't one of them! I was pissed beyond belief because 1. I was inconvenienced & 2. Best Buy? More like Worst Buy! There is no guarantee that what you pay for is what you get! It happened to me at a Best Buy Store in July 19th 2018 at #1891 E 402 E FORDHAM RD Bronx. I had bought the Nest Secure alarm system and other products, which amounted to a total cost of $1738.69. But once I went home to open the Nest Secure box I realized that one product priced at $198 was not in the box, and instead there were thick wires ! Somebody at Best Buy had probably replaced the Nest product inside the box and disguised it as a new legitimate product. I immediately went back to the store for an exchange on the same day. A lady named Adriana (she said she was one of the managers in the shop) didn't give us a refund or exchange, but took the disguised box with the wires inside and told me that they would investigated it and reach out to me via email. They were informed that our family would revisit the shop when we were back from the holiday in a month. Once I came back from holiday in August, I went to inquire about our case. The same lady Adriana was very rude and very impolite this time. She vaguely told me that the investigation had no results and refused to even tell me what kind of investigation the shop had done. When I requested the store to return our box back and let me do my my own investigation (via the serial number) Once she heard that, she immediately replied that she had thrown the box away, therefore no one could track the product! She refused to provide more information and refused to give us a refund. What I was most disappointed in BestBuy was that not only did they sell us a fake box, the staff and Customer service were rude, arrogant, unhelpful and overall very unprofessional with the way they handled the situation. I was there to get the Kindle and it was difficult to find. One associate pointed out where it was but he should have walked me over to it. When I finally found it by asking a random associate walking by, the display was in shambles. I walked over to the samsung area and asked a young woman (I think her name was Yamina) if they sold kindles and she said they did. She called for it from the stockroom and it took about 5 minutes to come out. She was handling multiple customers so I had to wait another 5 minutes to be cashed out. They needier staff there! This location is just like any other best buy location. The staff are okay, did have a argument with a floor employee once over price value of an item. The major issues which this store must fix is the blantent loitering right outside the front of the store. I know the area around the store always has people but if u have crowds gathering in front of the store without leaving that would make anyone hesitant about going in to the store at all. I think this location and store needs to improve on there pick up purchase time. The last 2 times I purchased an in store pick up the item is never completed with in a hour or after an hour. The first time I waited 6 hours no email item is ready so I decided to ask. The young girl who works at pick up gets an attitude like its not ready yet. When most of the workers are chatting or walking around. If they dont work in that dept. They are not willing to help much. Since I told her it was more than 6 hours she asked the other girl to help look for item. She advised that it might not be available since it was 1 left, or someone may have stolen it. Not sure why those too options were mentioned. The second time doing this same girl gave me attitude again and I asked her how to cancel since I needed the item as a gift I cancelled and repurchased item at the 42nd location and the item was completed for pick up in 30min after I made the online purchase. I think Bronx location needs to take a page from the manhattan location because both purchases I made at 42nd and 23rd location items for pick up are ready right away with no issue. 2 times I went to this location items for pick up never see the light of completion. Who ever manages this location needs help in item pick up location staff attitudes need work on as well. read more

Worst store experience ever! I went in and there were not a lot of people shopping. But don't let that fool you, that means even less store employees available to help you! I sought out 3 different people for assistance purchasing a tablet. When I picked up the tablet I was interested in an alarm went off. The first rep came over, turned the alarm off and left without answering my questions. The next person called for assistance, but was ignored. The next person who came over got an attitude with me for bothering her! Frankly this is not the first time I've had a bad experience here. Don't order anything and have it picked up here. MCSA(store pickup) team is horrible at their service. Standing in the store waiting for them to pick my item, a phone case that's on the wall, for about an hour and a half. I wasn't gonna order it but I figured instead of me having to look for it they could save me the trouble. I clearly found it myself as soon as I walked in and just waited for someone to come grab it. I also stood in the middle of the mobile department (purposely dressed quite suspiciously) and went completely uncontacted. I actually had customers asking me if I worked here cause they too were uncontacted. This store is basically a free for all cause it seems no one works here. read more
