He checked the store in Racine and they had an additional case. He put it all on one transaction (easier expense reporting) and I drove to the Racine store for an easy pickup of the additional case. I had a an appointment with the Geek Squad that was set up by Apple. My iPad had crashed and Apple had tried to help me repair it over the phone with no success. I didn't have much hope. However, Aseel and Kasia were miracle workers and were able to resurrect my device and I am so grateful to them. My wife purchased a washer /dryer combo set for delivery and installation. When the delivery guys showed up . It's like they knew it was supposed to be installed, it wasn't on our reciept of course. I find that the customer service and range of selection at Best Buys vary quite a bit, not just from store to store, but also by department in the same store. The CD part of this store isn't that big or conveniently laid out, and there's no one who knows anything about music working here...strike that, there's no one working in this section at all. We actually came in here to look at washing machines, which we did. Then we bought a surround sound speaker bar for our television. That's a little hard to explain, it's not really a fault of the store, it has more to do with what's more fun to buy and how easily distracted I can be when I'm not concentrating. The large home appliances choice is a bit limited, there were two color choices, whites and chromes, and two narrow price ranges for the washers/dryers, one bunch around $800 and another bunch I'll call the "Oh-My-We-Can't-Afford-That" range. There were inexplicably more choices in dryers than washers. The home sound system area was tightly packed with shelves, and it was hard to compare sound quality as not all the displays worked, or we couldn't figure out how they worked. It was more help to get online on our Smartphones and compare reviews by experts and consumers. The boys, or rather very young men, working in home theater had much more practical knowledge than the young man in appliances. I think that they should put someone older than him into appliances, I doubt he's ever even used a washing machine let alone bought one himself. On the other hand the young men working in home theater obviously have watched television and played video games as well as listened to music (imagine that), so they were able to use their own experiences to help us out. This is not a busy Best Buy and it's in a great location near Woodman's, Steinhafel's and White Castle. read more

We don't live around here but had to drive for a preorder release for the new Godzilla movie. And there was some hiccup in the system that allowed our item to get sold prior to us getting there. And the manager I spoke to, Rick, was absolutely the most helpful manager I've ever had. He expressed his apologies multiple times, even though I had a feeling it was a fluke situation that rarely happens. He was so sincere and apologetic through the entire experience. The cashier was super amazing too, sadly her sweater was covering her name tag, so I didn't get her name. But it happened minutes ago, in case they read this, hopefully they know who they are! I purchased a dishwasher along with the installation package with it. The fee for installation was $165 and $30 for new hoses. When they came to install they wanted another $400 because of " modifications" needed. I told them to not even unload the truck and leave. I called the store and got a typical runaround. I seriously doubt these installers were licensed because I called ABT showed them pictures of the plumbing setup and said everything look fine. I will never shop this rip off Geek Squad again read more

So I went to the station where two employee were talking to each other and it took few minutes for them to even acknowledge I was standing their. Worst shopping experience ever. Item said it was on time for store pick up. One hour before the store closed they sent an email "sorry it is delayed a few days". Customer service was terrible at store level and 888 number. Every person I takes to blamed someone else. I found out the item was coming from a warehouse located in the small city I live in. I will never set foot in this Best Buy, or probably any other one, ever again. I went to look at new laptops - found one I liked for about $1100, salesman then rings me up and tells me to take it over to Geek Squad to get Word loaded and data transferred from current computer Having done this many times in the past with Best Buy computer purchases, I didn't necessarily expect it to be done immediately, but I did expect to at least be able to leave it with them and come back another time to pick it up. No such luck - I was told that I had to make an appointment for the next day to leave the computer, despite the fact that a guy in line in back of me with no reservation got immediate help on an Apple I-phone problem. (I'm guessing Best Buy has some arrangement with Apple where their device problems take precedence, even over customers who just bought a computer from Best Buy.) Since I was not happy with that sort of customer service, I just decided to get a refund and buy the computer on-line from someone else. It then took me about 20 minutes to have my purchase refunded because customer services needed some sort of manager assistance. With this sort of customer services, how Best Buy ever expects to ultimately compete with competitors like Amazon is beyond me. If you can't get great in-store assistance, there is absolutely no reason to go to Best Buy instead of Amazon. (and the explanation from Best Buy that I should have made a "just in case" Geek Squad reservation before even deciding whether to buy a lap top is laughable....they should have some process for impulse computer purchases where you can at least immediately leave the new computer with Best Buy and pick it up later.) So, Best Buy has forever lost all my electronics business, and we've bought a lot of TVs, computers and printers from them over the years. I'm sure in the future it will be a lot easier to buy on-line from Amazon or Costco and get some locally owed computer shop to handle any technical needs. read more

The staff I have dealt with here make it my favorite Best Buy! Very knowledgeable, very helpful with out being smothering! Way better than Gurnee for Sure! Plus we like to hit up the Woodman's and Friend's Restaurant and Deli, which was recommended by one of the Friendly Best Buy staff! I thought he worked for them at first but he said no! I went to the geek squad when the hinge broke on my laptop. I asked if they suggested I use their repair services and the associate I spoke with said yes so I left them with my laptop. during shipment they completely broke the screen, it was completely damaged. the service center tried to charge me and extra $200 for that damage on top of the hinge. We sorted that out and they said they would pay for the damaged screen. This was not communicated properly though so my laptop was going to be sent back with even more damage than it originally had because I had apparently neither declined nor accepted my estimate. Trying to get ahold of the service center was a nightmare, sometimes I was on hold for 45 mins. I was hung up on and the lack of communication was just dumbfounding. I finally spoke with a geek squad manager at the Kenosha store who told me the service center is terrible, leaving me to question why the sales associate from earlier recommended that service to me in the first place. A month after dropping my computer off it was finally shipped back to the store, completely destroyed, but the manager did offer me a brand new computer. So in the end I got a brand new computer but I will NEVER be using their services again. Absolutely ridiculous. read more
