Like others I had issues with Luis at the GeekSquad. TLDR: I got what I expected, but was given threats of illegal actions by the geek squad agents of this location. Shady and left a bad taste in my mouth. I want to start by saying I am a Long time Bestbuy shopper, a total tech plus member, and credit card holder. I purchased an ROG Ally and had the SD card failure that so many people experienced with the first batch. So as part of the warranty process ASUS asked me to utilize Bestbuy to ship the device to them. I went through the Geek Squad and they took possession of my device. It was noted that my devices was scratched in the drop off notes when that was in fact NOT TRUE. My ally was in perfect condition. I was fearful that something would happen in shipping and I would be out of luck because this agent decided to write that in the notes without informing me of the situation. Luckily when I went to pick up my device it was in the same perfect condition as when I dropped it off. But when I asked the same agent (respectfully) why he didn't go over why he was putting that it was scratched, he said that it doesn't matter because they don't cover any scratches that they cause anyways. (If you don't cover scratches, then why claim my device was scratched to begin with?) He also falsely told me that if I removed any stickers on the device in the future that they would deny any/all warranty claims which is a direct violation of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. All in all I got what I expected, I thought the agent was super cool when I dropped off the device, but everything post drop off was shady and making threats of illegal actions. I can't stress this enough that I know retail employees have a rough job. I am literally one of the most chill customers a store can get. Went to this location to inquire about getting some earphones fixed. I had a very normal interaction with Luis, a member of the geek squad who explained to me the process and signed me up for an appointment a hour later. Their policy prevents them from running diagnostics on merchandise without the owner being present so I couldn't just drop the earphones off, I had to come back for the appointment, no problem. I come back on time, fill out some paperwork and Luis gets the testing started. He's on the computer for a while and tells me the earphones are indeed defective and it looks like they can replace them as part of some Apple extended warranty program. Awesome. So he signs me up for the service, let's me know I'll get a text when they're ready and all that. Then I notice a panic in his eyes, he's at the computer erratically typing away for another 5 to 10 mins before boom, he lays it on me; apparently my product doesn't qualify for the replacement, my best option is to just buy a new pair. Oh well, too bad so sad right it's not like this is BB's fault but I just ask a simple question; why did you sign me up for the service and told me I'd be able to get em replaced? Well at this point Luis lost it, it was like arguing with a child. He kept talking over me, repeating that he never said they'd be able to get em fixed, that I misunderstood and so on and so on. Well maybe so, but he's behavior was completely uncalled for and just unprofessional. Acting like a child in front of his colleagues and costumers trying to prove me wrong. I was so embarrassed for him and this store. The service and training is abysmal but unfortunately it's the only location in town and they do good business so they have zero incentive to change. read more

Place looks like a thrift shop that's been picked over!! I am particularly disappointed that they don't update their website to reflect actual hours of operation! I travel extensively and cannot bank on a bunch of millennials that want to go home early to play with themselves. Lost my business!! read more

Pretty cool store...the staff was really helpful and the store wasn't too busy...they also took the time to open one of the Fitbit cases to allow me to try it on...and I felt bad when it didn't fit...poor girl struggle to open it too...but at the end of it all...they enjoyed helping me. read more

Follow-up: Just when I thought I had BestBuy all wrong they offered assistance. The result, BestBuy was able to broker for us sending the TV back to the manufacturer, at our cost. Then the manufacturer will assess the damaged TV BESTBUY sold to us and fix it, at our cost. Now if any of you have tried to fix a TV you know that it is usually cheaper to buy a new one versus having it repaired. After fixing it at our expense we will have to pay to ship it back. BestBuy has arranged to have us pay, I estimate, another $1,200 to $1,800 for the $1,300 pile of trash they sold us. My only negative, BestBuy did not offer kissing me while they screwed me. Would have been decent of them to at least offer a peck on the cheek. Look, anyone reading this I am not suggesting you to steer clear of BestBuy, but again, if you do not think you will be able to test the product within 72 hours, have them open and test the product in front of you before you leave the store. I will continue warning people so they do not end up with $1,300 of garbage. My wife works 15-16 hour days at a hospital, last shift on a covid-19 floor, so she could get me this TV. I am truly grateful. She is heartbroken. I told her we will buy another TV via Amazon as she initially intended. Amazon's integrity is outstanding. read more

There were long lines, and the employee that approached me wouldn't stop offering me financing. I wasn't there to get anything worth financing! Also this business is a scam, I shouldn't have to tell the teller that I don't want a credit card and be asked an ambiguous question that would probably trick most people into getting credit cards on the credit card machine. Obviously this place is set up to scam tge poorest customers into payment plans! Never shop here! read more

This is my go to Best Buy in Laredo. Definitely the cleanest and friendliest in my opinion. During peak hours it is sometimes hard to find an associate, but most of the time you can. I would recommend getting a couple more on schedule especially in the TV area, that's where I tend to have the most issues finding someone. Mobile section is amazing, all workers are ready to answer any questions and show you ways to save on your bill. Great open box deals and clearance! read more

Horrible service. Period. You have to know everything you're doing because they act like blind sheep and don't/won't acknowledge any requests or needs spoken or unspoken. Biggest problem I had was the profiling and the fact there were multiple associates just standing around talking to each other despite my wandering around looking for a product; in addition, I made eye contact with one and looked away to get around a display table and started to walk in their direction and they immediately dismissed and walked away to who knows where. I know it's not everyone's idea to help out someone dressed poorly when they're looking at relatively expensive products but I can guarantee you they lost my $500 the second that they butt kissed and sucked up when I went with a full suit. Never buying anything at this location again... or at least with those associates working. I appreciate the genuine care despite what I care to don or "show wealth" because I am the poorest millionaire in my world and I don't have money but I still buy things. read more
