I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Best Buy. Less than two months ago, I purchased an Anker power bank for around $250. The device failed while it was still covered under the manufacturer's warranty. When I returned to the store looking for help, I was simply told that because I was outside Best Buy's 15-day return window, there was nothing they could do. What makes this even more frustrating is that I was never offered an extended protection plan when I purchased the power bank. Instead of making any effort to help me with the manufacturer's warranty or pointing me toward a solution, I felt like I was brushed aside the moment they realized it wasn't a simple return. To make matters worse, I've spent well over $8,000 at Best Buy in the last two years. You would think that kind of customer loyalty would count for something. Instead, I was treated like just another inconvenience. Customer service shouldn't end after 15 days, especially when a product fails less than two months after purchase and is still under the manufacturer's warranty. I wasn't expecting a free replacement outside the store's return policy--I was expecting someone to care enough to help me navigate the warranty process. This experience has completely changed my opinion of Best Buy. If this is how loyal customers are treated when they need help, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. DO NOT SHOP HERE. I came in store to order a tv to be delivered to my house, because the size I wanted didn't fit in my car. I was told that when i would get a delivery window, and a call/text 1 hour prior to delivery which was perfect because i was working and needed to run home to meet them. I get a text at 1:52 saying they would be there at 1:11.. what?? I call customer service and they tell me it was a glitch and they're on their way. I get home and wait an hour, missing pay from work, and call again and I'm told that they attempted delivery at 1:10 and I wasn't there. They tried to blame it on me. My delivery window was 1:30-530. I cancel the order because obviously I'm not going to risk missing more work for their delivery drivers, and buy a smaller tv in store. Then I call customer service again, speak with a supervisor and they promise me a gift card for the hassle, I just need to wait until the in store purchase processes. I've spent 4 hours in total on the phone with customer service at this point, spoken with supervisors and reps, and I'm still fighting for my life for this gift card that I was promised. They refuse to give it to me. This entire experience was HORRIBLE. DO NOT USE THEIR DELIVERY SERVICES. Every member of their staff is a f'ing idiot. I will never shop at this company again read more

Picked up a laptop at curbside. My window was open and the guy literally threw the laptop at me. It was so fast I didn't even have time to put my hands up to take it from him. I have a bruise on my chest from where the corner of the box hit me when he threw it in. I get curbside from Target all the time. They say hello and then confirm where I'd like my packages. They have a bin of CDs for $5.99, it's a mass of pure hot mess, no time to go through their pile. Still have a decent selection of DVDs. They have phones galore, Apple section, phone and iPad accessories, Garmin, headphones abound, kitchen appliances, TVs in every possible sizes. The oculus looks so fun as does the hover, would try them out once at least. Same issue most of the phone cases are on the web for less but at least they will price match. read more

I have a very bad experience with the Best buy personal for the installation of the Audio and Ethernet wires. The employee has a very bad attitude and zero personal relationship skills. The process of doing the work is very bad, very unprofessional. They make fun of customer request. I would NOT recommend anyone to go to best buy for any installation work. I will certainly talk to store manager and other responsible parties to take this matter serious and act upon it. If I had not given a deposit in the beginning, I would have not proceeded with the work. read more

The experience was so frustrating and disappointing that I don't know where to begin. This is definitely a warning to anyone attempting to buy a kitchen appliance from this location. From the very beginning, there was great concern and I knew this wasn't going to end well. We went to get a replacement dishwasher. The whole process to get it ordered was very difficult. The employee was unsure of which one we looked up online and how to find it online. They quoted us at $400 and some change for it and I knew that wasn't right. Turned out, it was the wrong model and we were able to catch it and correct it. Next came the delivery scheduling. The closest date they could get us was almost 2 months out. Unacceptable, luckily it wasn't an emergency. We continued through the wait until our delivery date. The confirmation email and phone calls didn't match up, which was concerning, and they gave us a 12pm to 6pm window. They arrived with the dishwasher, came in to look inside, and this is where the worst part of it all began... They said they couldn't install it because we "didn't buy the extension kit". The video indeed, shows that we need to buy it and they provide the installation kit and removal of the old device, but the person in the store said that they would have the extension kit as well for this model. We called the store to explain what happened and they said that they had it on the truck and weren't sure why they didn't install it. We were re-booked for a couple days later and tried the process again, verifying that we didn't need the installation kit or the extension kit, that they would bring it. Low and behold, the same delivery people showed up and had the same response. I completely lost it. The delivery driver refused to wait as I called the store and took off and left. One thing was different this time though, he said to go to Home Depot or Best Buy to buy it. After calling Best Buy again to explain the situation, they said they do not carry the extension kit at Best Buy and that they should have had it on the truck again. We cancelled the order and were asked to come into the store to get our money back. Hilariously enough, we got another call later in the day from a different third party telling us he's on his way to pick up our old dishwasher. That was not a part of the plan at all, let alone why would he be asking to pick it up if we never even got the new one? He got really mad at us that we cancelled his pick up and hung up. Overall, this experience was a total mess. Luckily we got fully refunded, and an apology from a store manager, but how can something like this happen? This used to be my primary Best Buy location and I regularly came in to browse and buy things including laptops, digital cameras, DVDs, etc. I also used their Geek Squad services including repairs under warranty. After a location opened closer to my home and in an area where I did much of my other shopping, I came here less often unless I was doing something else nearby. Recently I was back in the area and wanted to stop at a Best Buy so I came in and went to Geek Squad to inquire about a warranty repair for my laptop. It was purchased directly from the brand website with their extended warranty and I had inquired at the time of purchase about where I can take it for any warranty service. I was given choices of phone or website technical support, I could mail it in, or it could be serviced locally at Best Buy and others. I came in and explained the problem to them and that they were noted as an authorized warranty repair facility. It took a while for them to check on this and verify the warranty coverage. Then they said they could mail it in to the manufacturer for me. This was disappointing so I left and found another authorized repair facility that was able to test and repair my laptop. read more

When you go there for a refund or even to buy another computer, they will not give you your money back, or apply it to another computer and tell you that you have to file a claim with some on line .com place!!! But when you call the corporate office to file a claim they say they can't until they verify that the computer wasn't delivered!!! Even after that they say to call back another day and they might be able to help. By the way, the person in their corporate office was answering the phone from SOUTH AFRICA!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!! My review is solely based on my experience with the curbside pickup. I ordered my products online and the Madison Heights/ Troy location was the only one with stock. I got a text and an email when my items were ready for pickup. Once I arrived, there were clearly marked parking spots out front. I pulled in and clicked the link saying I was there. There's a 3-minute countdown for someone to bring your items to you. It took maybe a total of 5 minutes. The employees are friendly and polite. Everyone was wearing masks and gloves. Have been waiting over a month for a warranty repair. I was told when I bought the Total Tech Protection Plan that if there was a problem with the car radio I purchased, it would be replaced with another if there was an issue. That was an expensive lie I was sold. Ask specific questions before buying the Total Tech Plan. Secondly there has been poor to no communication regarding the status of the repair. Promises of "we'll get back with you" were not kept. After dealing with the Geek Squad I spoke to store manager Stan. In my opinion, Stan should not be a store manager, I found Stan to be smug and uncaring, at no time did he bother to look up the status of my issue on the computer. I will be addressing my encounter with Stan with Corporate and Investor relations tomorrow. This is not he first time myself or others have had issues at the Madison Heights Michigan Store. I rarely complain, but this issue has been so poorly handled, I felt compelled to share it here. Hopefully your experiences at other Best Buy stores have been better. read more

June 21, 2023, Purchased $1,300 computer, printer.... Was told the computer had to be left for programming and it would be delivered (paid $200 for programming and installation package), when the Geek Squad would come out for installation on July 5th. They show up without the computer. And, He says he is not allowed to go to the store and pick it up either. Great, I am at work getting this type of call. I had to leave work with a moments notice if I wanted this done after waiting 2 weeks. When I got to the store I was told that the customer is supposed to pick up the equipment. So, why was I repeatedly told they would bring it with them? No good answer, just a hollow I am sorry. Even after calling in to confirm?? A BIG o well attitude with everyone I dealt with. No answer on, how could this happen - doesn't Best Buy do this everyday?? No Management in site, couldn't wait any longer. I had to get back to work. So, I called the store after I left - I was put on hold for 20 minutes with a menu from Hell. Then a employee took my info, not a manager. Without telling me - he switched me over to Mexico City after being no help. No manager to help me. They seem to insulate themselves to reduce contact with a customer complaining about terrible service! No email at Corp. Headquarters either. I guess they don't want to hear how badly their customers are being treated. After hours trying to get someone to listen to my complaints they did offer me a $70 card. Seems like we screwed up standard procedure - here's a $70 gift card. Because they're taking in so much - here's some shut up money. That's great, but doesn't come close to cover my inconveniences. Even for free if the service is that awful - I would still look for a different retailer for purchasing expensive equipment. I got jerked around and talked to like I should just take it. No reason why this happened to me. Because there is no good reason. The reason is incompetence. Seems like a decent level of service and any sort of accountability is a thing of the past at Best Buy. I will be doing much more shopping around next time I need some new expensive equipment! Order a 2 TB External hard drive from Sea Gate for my Xbox at 9:00am. Get to the store at 2:30pm to be told that they don't have it available in store. My question is what was the delay in informing me that the item wasn't available at this particular store? I asked if there was something compatible they said no. I asked could i transfer the balance from this purchase to buy another external hard drive. Basically all I received was a sorry dude. I can understand not being in stock since I ordered online but to arrive 6 hours later and then receive an email at 3:00pm (after I already left the store) is ridiculous. I was in the area.. I had a free $250 gift card.. I just installed a smashing car stereo for christmas. Now I need to buy me some speakers. So off to the car audio section we go. When I told the woman on the phone that the salesperson told me it would be delivered "by Friday", she said that I shouldn't have been told that because there's no way to know when it will actually be delivered. I purchased a new Maytag stove. Best Buy moved the delivery date twice. With other issues also. Finally received it. No paperwork with stove. I is a regular stove, convention and air fryer so paperwork would help. Also to get the warranty. Went to store to complain. Was taken care of my manager on duty that day, David. Okay now got a new Roku 65" TV. Best Buy want $249 to install. I already have the wall mount. I got a company to do it for $49. The gentleman asked me if I had opened the box. I said no. No paperwork in it. No warranty papers. Also, the cord was taped to back of TV. He said usually taped to cardboard covering TV. TV is up and working. Went to Madison Hgts stove to ask about paperwork. Talked to manager on duty that day. He tells me they are trying to save the trees, so paperwork has not been printed for 13-15 years. Well, I know that is not true as my friend just got a new TV and the paperwork is in the box. Purchased from a different store. Told to call Roku to get warranty papers. So I do their work. My husband and I went to the gratiot store first which was amazing. They didn't have the TV we wanted, so they directed us to this location. We went there bought the TV, but it wouldn't fit in our vehicle. We pay for there mid membership which includes free shipping. We went back inside to set up delivery. The system would only let us return the TV which takes 3 to 4 days to go back onthe card, then purchase the TV again. We said we could come back later and pick it up, and the guy said they can't have purchased product in the store. What's the difference if they were going to ship it on Tuesday. Or we could pay 99 dollars and avoid all the returning and waiting for the money to go back on the card. No thanks. We decided to return the TV and take our business elsewhere. read more

Fraud committed at their store, with my credit card, online. Called Best Buy and our credit card company to cancel the day we saw it on our statement. Also filed 2 police reports. Get notification back that I am 3 hours away. Best Buy call center wouldn't help but say that they would start an investigation to find out why this store gave stolen property to someone not presenting an ID or a receipt. Best Buy said they didn't have sufficient evidence to dispute the charge. I called back- can't get ANYONE at the store, all calls go to the call center. The final ruling- you have to go talk to someone at the store. But you can't call anyone at the store and "if it takes a 3 hour car ride to take care of it, that is what you are going to have to do". NO ONE IN MY CIRCLE WILL EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM BEST BUY EVER AGAIN. read more

I think when many people go to a Best Buy store they already have an item in mind that they want to purchase. The one benefit about this location is it has plenty of parking available. Many other locations share parking with other stores. Today I specifically went here to purchase a USB drive. But I've been here many times to buy a microwave, cellphone, printer and even a Fitbit. On average there staff is friendly and "blue shirts" that's what I call them always approach and greet you. Here's the secret I only go here during the weekdays I avoid stores like this and the mall on weekends for obvious reasons. The service and wait is long, the parking lot is full the check out line is full. My advice- pay the warranty protection for a small price it's worth it. Electronics/gadgets break and Best Buy is pretty good with their guarantee. Oh if you ever need to get rid of an old TV for $25 Best Buy will recycle it for you. read more

Like another reviewer, I was also extremely suprised at their return policy -- I tried to return an unopened, shrink-wrapped, macbook power cable 19 days after purchase, with original receipt -- they told me they do not except returns after 15 days... They did offer me store credit, as an exception. Indeed, this was printed on the original receipt, I later saw -- but it just seemed so far from the current standard at most stores, and difficult to understand how accepting the return would have negatively impacted the store. read more

I've been here a few times now. It's always clean and well-kept up, for the most part. It's a bit of a pain getting there because John R. is usually pretty busy, FYI. I went here with a $50 gift card to spend (woohoo for blogging money!) and bought a Chromecast and a DVD and a Blu-ray. I was impressed because the DVD was like $2 cheaper than on Amazon, and so was the Blu-ray (Jumanji and Perks of Being a Wallflower). Went in to look at 2 things today on 11/2/22 at 1245. walked the entire stores looking for cordless landline Panasonic phones. Found a guy in the appliance section who stated he did not know where they were. Walked around looking for anyone to help. Found a small dark haired Mexican male employee who had 3 people waiting for help. I waited another 20 minutes. wanted to know if they had Samsung A7 Galaxy tablet in stock. Finally it was my turn, after a total of 45 minutes. He said yes and walked away. Said if I could buy it somewhere else, I should. Best Buy at this location is way under staffed. I left and went across the street where I got great service and made my purchase.(Office Depot gladly had item in stock). I won't be shopping here.
