Went into BB to the Geek Squad for a simple battery replacement on my iPhone. They "finished" the replacement in about an hour and sent me home. Within minutes, I knew something was wrong with my phone. It was continuously rebooting itself every 3-4 minutes. I took the phone back and spent the next 3 hours pacing around the store. Eventually, it was determined that they had damaged the motherboard of my phone in the repair process. Thankfull, Apple agreed to replace the phone since it was damaged by one of their "certified" technicians. However, I didn't get refunded for the battery cost and it took 4 days to get my phone replaced. I wouldn't recommend Geek Squad after this experience. Definitely take the drive to Park City and the closest actual Apple Store. read more

So, they don't have everything in stock at all times which is a little frustrating but at the same time it's OK because you can't expect that. But anyway, they have very great and knowledgeable. Employees who know what they're doing. They have a wide selection of things to buy, as well as computers, laptops, phones, speakers, and so so so much more! Everything there is definitely good price, like averaged. And that's honestly the best that you can expect from one of these places. The best thing though is that my sister broke her computer that she got here and it wasn't like a cheap knock off one. It was a computer like a Chromebook with fingerprint touch and everything, and they took it in fixed it for her, and gave it to her for free like no charges. We did end up buying a new one because she needed one at the time and it took too long to get fixed, but I actually ended up getting her old computer that just got fixed, and it was definitely brand new. So come here if you're looking for really any electronic, they have great service and a wide variety of selections and people who are very happy to help. read more

I am surprised to see that this store has so low of a rating. I have been coming here for ~15 years and haven't ever had a bad experience. Yeah sometimes you have to wait a few minutes for a staff member if you need help but no one has ever given me attitude and on the contrary, I've always found the staff to be super accommodating. My best experience here EVER was in 2019 when I went in to buy my first "big boy" TV. I had a $1500 budget and as I was looking around the $3200 flagship LG C8 caught my eye... it was beautiful... low and behold the C9 had just been released and the employee told me they could give me a $200 discount and I was like I'd love this TV but I can only spend $1500 (wife said). After about 30 minutes of some unexpectedly successful negotiation and discussion the manager ended up coming down to $2000!!!!! I called the wife and got the ok and walked out of the store with a $3200 Flagship LG OLED C8 for about $2100 after taxes!!! 5 years later my 65" LG OLED C8 is still going strong and it's one of the most incredible purchase experiences I've ever had for any product EVER! I am a Geek Squad Total Tech member too and as long as you call ahead and schedule an appointment they are always very helpful. I was just in there yesterday looking for a microphone boom arm for podcasting and the guy at the front told me right where it was and even gave me a secondary location to check if it had been moved from the first place he told me... he was right the first time. Many of the negative reviews seem to be people that get snippy with the staff. One person apparently threatened the manager with an attorney when they weren't able to get anything but store credit outside of the 14 day return Window. I mean... do you not expect to be asked to leave when you insist to get special treatment then threaten to sue them when they don't give it to you? I have been outside the window once before too and they still let me return, but only offered store credit. A little bummer but they clearly state that rule before you purchase, at least they let you/me return it! In another situation I had purchased a $1000 PC monitor that I ended up not liking and on day 12 or 13 brought it back and they returned it no problem! I was here to do a little research on security cameras I was help by a young man who was quit knowledgeable and helpful in what I was looking at! Security Doorbells as well as the Battery Security Cameras. Definitely help making my choice easier! Now the other thing is the competition. I can definitely get what I believe I want cheaper elsewhere as well as in packages which are not offered by Best Buy! Best Buy does have the products if you want to purchase things independently or in smaller packages but do your research sometimes you can find the better deal elsewhere! I took a bit of time to check out the computer stuff which was well stocked and prices clearly marked. Accessories, software, peripherals and laptops/desktops ready to go. Unless you want a tv or phone, good luck finding help. I have been looking for a range. I found one at a fair price, but was told I had to wait for a while for someone to help my because no one staffs that location. They rang up the price it was incorrect. Sign said $719 and price was $799. However, with an electric range you are REQUIRED to purchase a cord for $49. I do not need a cord, I do not want to have to return the cord and the cords price is inflated. The big box home improvement stores sell them for $29. Chains in general these days are horrible. This is why I purchase most items online. Best Buy won't match prices at B+H photo and video anymore either. Best part is Best Buy's review give itself a 4.7 rating and it is a 2.4 here! read more

I was just in the Best Buy store in Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania to return two items totaling roughly $220 that I purchased December 20. They said they would only give me a store credit because it was past the 15 day return policy and outside the Christmas return by a few days. I asked to speak to a manager who promptly came over and said pretty much the same thing and that that's their policy end of discussion. I simply said I can't believe that I have to ask my attorney if that's true. At that point the manager said sir I can no longer speak with you you must leave the store immediately. I said no I have shopping to do here. He insisted that I leave the store immediately or they will be getting help to leave me ask me to leave the store. The worst customer service ever! There were no harsh words said her voice is raised just leave the store now. Now I am left with a $220 gift card or store credit card store that I've been asked to leave. I think this is the second review I've ever written in my life because I usually don't complain. This is the worst service I may have ever experienced and if anybody from Best Buy would like to contact me I'd be happy to explain my experience but from what I can see they don't give a damn. I received numerous emails informing me that it is shipping, then updated to delayed, then another "arriving soon" then another "delayed". It is a nightmare attempting to speak with a human being for customer service. I call local store. They say cannot help me because it is "shipping" to my home. 10 days later it arrives at my house, box damaged, re-taped. I did not open the box. I take it to local Bad Buy store. Tell them this is how it arrived to my house. I do not "trust" this electronic device/laptop when it arrives like this. They open the box. The internal box that holds the computer is dented/damaged. Person at counter evens says, "Yes, I would not trust this, wow." They have the exact same laptop at the store. The store manager tells me that he CANNOT give me that some computer because it is no longer "on sale". WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS? AFTER ALL OF THIS, NO FAULT OF MY OWN AND YOU WANT TO CHARGE ME A HIGHER PRICE! $300 MORE? GREAT customer service Bad BUY! I will go higher up. You have not heard the last of me. Best Buy Geek Squad installations - terrible. We bought two TVs just before Christmas and paid extra for professional installation. We had to schedule almost a month out, but we were willing to wait. First installation, no issues, guys were VERY good. 2nd installation - terrible. After scheduling almost a month out, they called a couple days before to push it off a week. Then they didn't show up on the day. 3 hours after the end of the installation window THEY gave us, we called and finally got thru. They had only one guy on, and it needed two, so they pushed it off almost another two weeks. So why didn't they call us the day before, or the day of? Because they don't understand what "customer service" means. I was reluctant to go buy there in the first place, now...can anyone recommend another electronics store in Harrisburg PA area that has professional installation and adequate customer service? read more

Bought a new Sony TV. Was 2500$. Got a bundle with the mount that is usually $300 by itself. Out the door was like 2650 plus tax. Within a week Sony refreshed their entire lineup. The TV was 2k and the bundle was $2150. Was told the price protection policy excludes bundles. Even though Bestbuy had the same sku for $500 less they wouldn't do it. Always liked BB for the simple fact that they compete with online and they have to maintain a show room. Wow...I just got off the phone and I will never be setting foot in a Best Buy store again. I called and asked if they carry a UV light to cure 3D prints. This is a fairly straightforward Yes/No question. The first person I spoke to acted as if I were speaking in tongues and sounded incredibly high. I'm talking "Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle" high. They sent me to the sales department and after I repeated my request I was put on hold. When they came back they started trying to sell me a 3D printer. I had to make two attempts to get them to stop talking long enough so that I could repeat the request and was told "Oh. No. We don't have those." I am an older gentleman with several health issues that exempt me from wearing a mask (and I look it). Almost all of the big box stores; Giant, Wal Mart, Lowe's etc. have been very accommodating to me. Most either ask and accept my reason, but frankly, in the last few months, no one hardly says a thing, because at this point if you see an older person putt-putting along slowly without a mask, you can probably assume they have health issues. Upon walking into the Mechanicsburg Best Buy, there is a sign on the door saying those with medical conditions that prevent them from wearing a mask are welcome to enter the store. After going through the front door a girl inside mentioned something about me not wearing a mask, and I said I have medical issues. She said ok, would you like a mask? I had to tell her again - I have medical issues. Then she finally let me in. Then when I went to the back of the store, the sales associate said something to me, and visibly freaked out and backed up saying he does not have to serve me. Apparently they will allow you to enter the store, but they won't actually serve you... I was so embarrassed and distressed by the way they treated me, as there were other customers standing around watching this. Ok ok, so you have this mask policy, although it has the medical disclaimer on the door, as per the state rules. Their employees have obviously not been trained on how to handle these situations subtly without causing a huge spectacle and making the customer feel like some kind of leper. They could have pulled me aside, or told me to wait there until they called an employee that doesn't function on the false assumption that a person who is maskless but NOT coughing and sneezing is somehow the spreader of a deadly disease. I kind of expected them to ask for my papers, but I doubt that producing them would have changed a thing It really is discrimination against the elderly and those with disabilities. By the way, I was just looking for a cable/adapter - and finally the manager who walked me out told me they didn't have it. Note the other reviews on this store and the repeating pattern of bad customer service. You don't want to give your money to people like this. AVOID. read more

I had to replace my mac power cord, with the incompetent help of Brian, he assisted in helping me purchase the wrong power adapter. So 1 hour I drive back to the store, using my cellphone to find out the real answer (realize no one helped me while I was standing there) found the adapter and decided to exchange it at the "Customer Service" desk, managed by a very unfriend Clint. His cocky attitude, and lack of courtesy only made me smirk as I recalled what happened to the last big box store (Circuit City). Only a matter of time till this company goes bankrupt (BBY down another 2 points today) and this dissatisfied customer will be encouraging all his friends to use Newegg. read more

I used to really like Best Buy. I signed up for Geek Squad Protection when I first purchased my iPhone and for all of the many issues that occurred they were great. There was often a long wait time, but as they took care of everything they said they would it wasn't a problem. Based on this previous experience, this is why I decided to buy my new laptop from them. I was recommended a laptop that was on the cheaper side that a helpful associate said would meet my needs. When the thing arrived a week after the guaranteed shipping date just about everything was wrong with it. The keyboard sat on a slight hill. Windows 8 just sucks. And the time and date function did not have an EST setting. So, after calling the Best Buy help line with little results I decided to trade the thing in and just get a Mac. When returning to the Best Buy store I practically had to beg them to let me buy a computer that was over double the price of my original purchase. I had to wait 30 minutes to speak to someone. And, when prompted it seemed I knew way more about the product than he did. At checkout, the cashier could not answer why suddenly the insurance policy was double the price I had paid for my first computer. Is it because this one is more expensive? I asked. He said No, he didn't know. So of course I didn't buy the policy. To really top matters off, my shiny new MAC, which cost me over a grand was handed to me without so much as a plastic bag. And when I asked for one, the cashier seemed a bit stunned. A box would have been nice. I wrote a letter to Best Buy detailing this experience and they did nothing. But first, I would like to take a moment to mention something that will become important to you later: I have always been worried over online purchases, even with (and despite of) the advent and rising popularity of websites like ebay, amazon, google, etc. Oh sure, I'll see the occasional Forbes report claiming that retail outlets (such as yours) are on their heels in an attempt to keep pace. But for me, the lack of human interaction always felt suspicious. If something where to go wrong during the shipping process, who would I hold responsible and how long would it all take to fix? Which leads me to yesterday. I went into your store with an issue. Seven months earlier one of your Goon Squad boys had convinced me that it was time to upgrade, despite the fact that I didn't really need to and was already (happily) off contract. But hey, he convinced me and for the past seven months I have enjoyed my latest high tech gizmo... that is, until two days ago when the damn thing stopped working. I went into your store, receipt in hand, expecting to be helped with the 1-year limited manufacturer warranty and everybody involved seemed to agree that this was a manufacturer defect. Actually, I was just expecting to be helped in general. But after waiting ten minutes, even that pipe dream faded. However, your employees (like good old "Dave" who I will never forget for as long as I live) where more than happy, even giddy, to inform me that fixing my phone was something I was going to have to explore on my own and attempted to send me on my way and out the door - never mind that I had taken off from work and driven 25 minutes down the road to visit them so I could wait another 15 minutes inside. In fact, I would even go so far as to say that that the snide motherfucker was downright gleeful when he informed me that he would not help me. In fact, Dave smilingly told me that he couldn't even give me a way to contact Samsung in order to help myself. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised, and should count myself lucky that someone approached me at the cellphone hut in only 15 minutes. So instead I did exactly what Dave suggested and I helped myself. I pursued the limited warranty on my own and it's all been taken care of, and now I am coming back to tell you stupid assholes that it's going to cost you in the long run: If I can make these purchases online and with similar or better results, than I don't see the goddamn point in wasting my time, effort, gas, and rising blood pressure dealing with you. I have already bought my college laptop, my girlfriend's college laptop, countless DVDs, CDs (back when you sold them), and my last two phone upgrades at Best Buy. But you will never see another penny from me again for as long as I fucking live, and I plan on being around long enough to make those previously mentioned purchases seem trivial. I knew exactly what I wanted and I called ahead to double-check stock inventory. Upon entering the store I was immediately approached by an Associate. I clearly stated that I wanted a specific television and a model and he not only sold me a two-year warranty but had me out the door in less than 20 minutes. I was presented with many other offers which I respectfully declined and he was not pushy. I don't generally give reviews good or bad but this one definitely deserved it. Anyone can sell a product but providing face-to-face customer service that is Untouchable is amazing and hard to find these days. Kudos to your employees. read more

I just upgraded to a Galaxy Note 8 phone. I sure was spoiled when I purchased my last two phones for $1.00 or $2.00. It took hours to purchase and have my data downloaded; however, I'm glad that the sales associate was able to do that for me. When I got home and tried to log into my email, I was unable to. I went back to Best Buy and asked the associate to help me. He determined that I tried so often that Yahoo blocked me for 12 hours. I returned the following day and he got me up and running in 2 minutes. Thanks Quentin. My only suggestion is that they offer training on Android phones like they do for Apple. read more

Unbelievably , unbelievable poor customer service. National tv advertising promised Delivery on orders December 24th. I ordered a tv for my elderly assisted living father home alone with a broken tv today. I ordered before 11 am. At 4 pm the order status showed order being "loaded, getting ready for delivery". At 7pm I received a text stating item unavailable and out of stock. Obviously there is a great disconnect here. A good employee should have called and asked if a substitute item would be acceptable. I called the Mechanicsburg, PA store directly - no human available. I called the 888-237-8289 customer service hotline and the agent actually hung up on me. When I called the number again, I got no answer. I just wish I could go back 8 hours and order from a different company that would have actually delivered today. Now my poor dad will be all alone on Christmas Day in a virtually silent room just waiting for someone to call him. BEST BUY- THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS KIND OF BUSINESS. The employees responses were "not my location, I can't help you" . I would then ask them to kindly get someone to this department for help and it still took them over an hour to get someone there.
