There's no way I'm driving across the country without my kids having headphones! So we yelped the closest Best Buy. Was shopping for a TV, waiting for labor day to catch some of the deals. Did my research through many online reviews and knew the TV I wanted (priced at 1799.99). Maybe its me, but there was no one coming up to me asking if I needed help looking for a TV. Finally, someone came up to me and began destroying my opinion on why I should avoid this TV, and instead 'lets' take a look at one for $500 more. Nice try, but I am one stubborn sob. Asked if they price matched, they stated yes, (their fine print online list about 6 companies they will price match) Showed the guy 2 different companies from online retailers/box stores. 1) NO on the first one, no real explanation except it is a 3rd party seller, hm, okay (would have been a $$100 savings for me) 2) Yes on the second one except I had to show my ID card to state I was a member of the wholesale club chain, ($50 difference) I stated I was not a a member, and he quickly and in a rude way stated 'No, we cannot price match'. What? Ok, its $50!, $50, you are telling me you're going to let me walk because I was trying to save a whopping $50!!??! HA. (if you are still reading this, it continues to get better). Now for the fun part: I had a 10% coupon, which DID NOT state exclusions on Sale items, the Brand I was purchasing or a UMRP (Unilateral Minimum Retail Price) The guy goes, 'I believe this is a UMRP TV, so no we cannot honor this'. Dude, I worked retail electronics before, I know what to look for. I of course told him 'No, its not, its not stated on the price tag, therefore it does not fall under UMRP' He looked at me almost angry, but proceeded to start the sale.(At this point the 10% showed all green lights that it would work) We set a delivery date and had the final price all set with tax, I had my credit card out and he then typed in the 10% code. Did not work. Apparently, the 10% states that it will only work under regular based prices. HOWEVER, it DOES NOT state that it would not work with sale prices. The language is not clear. Remember, I had my credit card out and was ready to pay, give this guy a great sale and help him in receiving a paycheck. He goes, "cant use it,". I then went "talk to the manager, because I am ready to pay for this right now" His response, "Nothing he can do either" Ok guy, this is exactly why box stores are closing and people are just buying online. Went online to Bestbuy.com the next day, put the coupon code in and boom, 10% off. Terrible service from the box store. Other competitors will match prices no questions asked and will honor coupons. I will never shop here again. First if you shop at Best Buy you are getting ripped off try Amazon.com. I purchased a computer here with an extended warranty and also a No Lemon Policy and I had Lemon computer kept breaking for the same problem. After a computer has to be repaired 3 times for the same repair they say they will replace it with a comparable one. I had my laptop break 5 times in a period of 2 years for the same problem and yet they would not honor there contract under the extended warranty. Had to take them to small claims court and the judge ruled in my favor and I awarded me the cost of the original computer. read more

I haven't been very happy with Best Buy lately. Recently I purchased a deep freezer (February) and it was back ordered until March, no biggie. So over the weekend I received an email stating that my order was ready for pick-up from the Mentor store so yesterday I took a stroll out there (15 min drive) only to find out the freezer wasn't actually coming in until the 28th of March. SOB.....what is going on with this company?!? This is the 2nd time in recent months that this has happened. I also waited 10-15 minutes for someone at Customer Service to help me, again, unacceptable. This specific store itself has all the bells and whistles that each Best Buy has. The location is great, store is huge, and most of the people there are young, inexperienced, but nice. rumor is that Best Buy is downsizing its stores and providing more online content. I bought a 55 inch TV in 2019 with an extended warranty for geek squad. My TV broke on the precious Saturday when I was at work, so I called geek squad that afternoon and had to set up an appointment for them to come out on the following Tuesday because the tv was to big to bring in to the store. The appointment was set for the following Tuesday between 1 and 8 pm. I was told they would call 2 hours before they got here to make sure I was home. I got home before 4 and waited until after 6 to call them. For some reason they changed my appointment for a week later. So I called geek squad and was told that it was moved because of not having a qualified technician. I told the lady I was never notified and of course she apologized for it, but there was nothing she could do about it. I asked for a supervisor and was put on hold for 45 minutes and then I was disconnected. Never got a call back, so I had to go through the same process again with the same results and a very nasty woman named Algene who kept talking over me and getting agitated with me so I asked for a supervisor and was put on hold for over 30 minutes. A supervisor named Ryan finally came on the phone and kept arguing with me that the day was set originally for the later date and not the earlier date. He said there was nothing he could do about it. I asked for a manager and he refused to put a manager on saying that he was capable of taking care of the problem. I demanded to speak to a manager and he kept refusing me. Kept telling me he is capable of taking care of the issue and I didn't need to speak to a manager. He was very rude and nasty to me. Telling me he was going to end the call by hanging up on me. I asked for a manager at least 15 times and was refused each time. I will never buy anything from best buy again because of the geek squad and the inappropriate attitudes these people have. Best buy needs to contract their geek squad out to a different company than what they have contracted with now. It's not my fault they don't have qualified technicians available but to change my date and to cover it up is just wrong. I paid extra money for this warranty and I paid cash for everything. They didn't have to wait 2 weeks for my money why should I have to wait 2 weeks before I can get my TV fixed? If I could I wod rate them a zero star. read more

Bought some devices from here bought a lap top several years ago forgot the guys name who helped me but he was great! Ansewered all my questions new what he was talking about whole bit. Just a few days ago I purchased an Apple Watch a I-pod touch and a charging station. Took a little bit to long to find someone to help me out one guy looked right at me and kept going. Finally another guy came by and asked if I needed help and he was very god ansewered all my questions went and got all the extras I asked for cases protectors etc.. he was very knowledgeable and helpful. To bad for the first guy who ignored me all together with the electronics cases and warranty purchases I spent over a grand so happy to give his sales commission to some one who wants to help. However they set up my watch for me and when I took it to my phone service provider to get it activated I noticed the band was to small asked service provider if they had any larger bands available they said no not for my particular model next day took it back to Best Buy to see if they had any bands they also said no I would have to go to the Apple store or special order it from Apple or to try amazon. I looked on amazon still no luck so called Apple and lady on the phone said there should be an extra longer size band IN THE BOX I rechecked it and there it was hidden in a super thin sleeve that I thought was just the warranty and directions literature! But whatever you do.... NEVER try to CALL their customer service line they will keep you on hold forever .... it's been days now and still NO ONE has ansewered the phone! read more

Seriously, guys, if you are ever in the market for a new TV then you would be doing your self a favor by going to this Best Buy and speaking with Alex. He is a very knowledgeable sales associate that does not try to push products on you or upsell you. Overall the associates at the store are friendly and helpful. The environment was friendly clean and I will be returning for future purchases. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is because of the lack of product availability in store. OK,bought a iPower Trace 930 1600.00 dollar bill) on Friday 13th at the Mentor Ohio location from a sales person named "Nate". Spent a good 30 minutes with the guy (Nate - remember that name). Told him I wanted a decent gaming computer (they didn't have the Dell XPS, I wanted). Call me "crazy", I said let's look at options. NATE said iBuy is awesome - "this is what gamers buy". "I build my own computers" NATE said, "this is good". I asked if it would work with my existing Samsung Monitor, he said "yes". I said I'd be interested in a gaming computer at a later date that could handle 144 megahertz. Got the "BOX" home (oh yeah, prior to that, another sales rep said where did you get that off the shelf or off the truck, NATE said "off the truck"). Opened the box, NO OWNERS MANUAL (as advertised on box), no cables (except power), no cable for graphic card hook-up to monitor. Called BB in Mentor on Monday (some fool - don't know his name) said,(and I'm paraphrasing) "Oh, they rarely do owners manuals and cables anymore". I said, "it's on the box", he gurgled and mumbled. I said "I'll be in". He said GEEK Squad, could check it out in store, but, I might have to leave it. Already called "GEEK Squad" and asked them to come out to the house for a $106.00, pay up front fee, even if the couldn't fix it, and they can't show up until April 25th (Order # 43284690, repair mans name is Evan). Overall a decent Best Buy location. I am giving 4 stars because sometimes it is really hard to find help, especially for sections like movies and video gaming. Their rewards program is pretty good and their gamer club membership program is excellent. I exclusively buy all my new video games at Best Buy to save that 20%. There we were, my fiance and I, shopping for a remote start for her vehicle. We were definitely looking to purchase and eventually have Best Buy install it based on their schedule. We were directed into the area where vehicle stereos, GPS, and Radar Detectors were. The was no sales associate anywhere to be found. I spotted a Blue Shirt walking briskly like Pac-Man in and out of the aisles. My fiance gave chase and finally hunted him down. She asked for assistance and he quickly got on his CIA approved ear bud and called someone to assist us. Ok, cool, we got someone on the way. Still waiting for another 10 minutes, I sought out the small kid again in the Blue Shirt, and not knowing I was with my fiance, he seemed eager to help me. I told him what I needed, and he then realized I was with her and knew that I was just getting fed up. So, again, he called for someone on his ear bud, not sure why he just could not help us. So, instead, a kid from the camera section comes over who barely knew anything about the remote start, let alone anything in the automotive area. We had many questions to ask, and at first he seemed to take them on decently, but then it was getting out of his realm. He called for an installer, and slowly slipped away, as someone was chatting in his ear bud about a camera question. This whole process was approximately 35 minutes now. I think we waited another 2 mintues and walked out of the store. That is the first time I have walked out of a Best Buy disappointed!! I really don't know if I would go back there. I know I wont for anything auto related. The sad thing is, we called Auto Sound in Willoughby, and were given all the answers to the questions we had over the phone, and bought and installed the remote start that same day!!!! Best Buy had us waiting a week! All in all, I think the Automotive area of Best Buy is lacking and I don't think their associates in the store know too much about that stuff.... It is the installers who can really help but they are busy in the garage. They need to get a rep who know what they are doing, but in my case, they are too late... I will never go back there for that again. read more
