This Best Buy in South Beach (5th Avenue) is honestly a great spot. The store is very nice, with a wide selection of electronics at really good prices -- probably some of the best deals you'll find around here. I really like that they have the Apple Shop, Samsung, and Geek Squad inside, so it makes it super convenient if you need help or specific products. The vibe of the store is modern and clean, and I personally enjoy coming here. Most of the time, I've had good experiences with the staff, especially at the Apple section where they really know their stuff. That said, since it's usually busy, sometimes it takes a while to get someone to help you, and I've seen a few mix-ups with orders or delays on deliveries. It's not perfect, but honestly the prices and product variety make up for it. I was excited and hopeful when headed to Best Buy to pick up a health wearable. I left frustrated. The store is well spaced out. Had a few people browsing, but not crowded by any means. Some areas had weird caution tape and other displays seemed bare. However, no real support to be readily found so I checked with the front desk (a pro for going in person supposedly). They put me on a waitlist that lasted over an hour and didn't even get matched to a support person. While waiting I asked if they could even verify they can allow me to size the device, a point where a big box retailer has over e-commerce. The young gentleman at the front was pretty apathetic and uninterested to help. Basically told me no after speaking to the unseen manager, whereas a Best Buy by my sister's house accommodated the same request for her. So I left without support nor the item I intended to buy and despite wanting to give the retailer business will order online with another vendor. It's actually cheaper elsewhere. The best part about this location was easy parking. Outside of that, I actually regret going and wish I could regain that lost time. Useless. I purchased a brand new 75" LG TV from Best Buy South Beach. Because of the size and weight of the TV, I had to rent a truck to transport it to my apartment, and I wasn't able to mount it right away. The TV stayed in the box for about 5 days until I was able to get help lifting and installing it. About a week after the purchase, once the TV was mounted, I noticed several scratches on the screen. I called Best Buy customer service twice -- once on Monday and again a few days later -- and spent over 30 minutes on the phone each time explaining the issue. Both agents were helpful and understanding. They said I was eligible for a partial refund since the TV was scratched and I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it due to the size. However, both agents had trouble locating my purchase in the system -- none of the numbers from my receipt worked -- so they told me I would need to go to the store in person in order to resolve the issue. When I went to the South Beach location, I had a completely different experience. The manager I spoke with was immediately rude and dismissive. She refused to consider a partial refund and accused me of potentially scratching the TV myself while mounting it. She showed no interest in what customer service had promised and gave me zero support. She incorrectly told me I had waited too long to report the issue -- even though I was still within the 14-day return window clearly outlined in Best Buy's own policy. Her only "solution" was to bring the TV back in for an exchange -- which would mean renting another truck and going through the entire process again, with no guarantee the new TV would be in better shape. She even told me to call LG directly, as if the problem wasn't Best Buy's responsibility anymore. I've been a longtime Best Buy customer, but this experience -- especially the dismissive and unprofessional attitude of the South Beach manager -- was extremely disappointing. Installer came with TV's ten days ago and I paid additional $650 for installation and it took him about two hours to install and configure the two sets. He told me I would be able to do everything from cable remote. Immediately the larger TV could not be controlled by the cable remote. I called the installer, Nicholas Mathews, as he said I should if I had a problem. Always got VM and left message. He called back once and said he would come that afternoon and I waited for five hours and he never showed up. I then called again every day for the next eight days until today he called back and I told him I would seek redress from Best Buy. I had one single question about a keyboard, I had to wait in a "queue" to be helped. I waited 20-25 minutes for one single question. The store was moderately slow. Employees walking back and forth past me like there were plenty of more important things to do other than help the fucking customers. After I got helped, add on another 20 minutes to check out (2 people in front of me, 1 person checking people out). I was waiting for two weeks for my purchases, I didn't get my money either, we were waiting for 2 hours in the store and when I complain about my case ERIC starts insulting my mom and me, and cancels the order..... I've come here twice in the past few months; on both occasions I'd purchased items online and simply came here to pick them up, but I've also spent time shopping around the store before taking delivery of my items. During my most recent visit, I bought an item that fit in my vehicle, but stuck out just a bit so the trunk wouldn't close fully. The kid who brought it out and helped with loading first told me I needed to move my seat up. Not only was that impossible, but it wouldn't have helped. I asked if he had tie downs or thick string to tie the trunk closed, similar to the stuff every home improvement store has, and that's also offered at nearly any place that sells Christmas trees. I assumed that, considering the amount of items that go out the doors of Best Buy every day, they'd have stuff to tie a trunk lid closed as I couldn't have been the first customer with that issue. He said they didn't have anything, and as he was walking away uncaringly with his cart, he told me I could call an SUV from Uber to come and take the item to my house. Great, kid...Very helpful. Aside from that, this store isn't the largest Best Buy I've been in, and some of the displays don't showcase their products very well. TVs are kind of hung in a haphazard way, for instance, and it's not always easy to understand which of the electronic price displays goes with which item. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! A laundry machine was delivered on May 6th. According to the technician, the laundry machine was working properly. Before the technician left, my husband asked him if the wet floor was normal and he confirmed saying that it was because of the installation. Once the technician left, I went to wash my clothes and when I came back, my entire floor was soaked with water. The water leaked all over and under my floor. We told Best Buy about this issue and they sent over a tech to inspect the washing machine. The tech confirmed that the washing machine was damaged and he scheduled a delivery of a new washing machine. Upon the delivery of the new washing machine, the new techs confirmed that the initial washing machine was not installed correctly and that the drain hose was not hooked up correctly. Causing the water leak. I reported that damage on the same day of the delivery. (May 6th) The damage was reported to Best Buy AND I FILLED A CLAIM. WHAT HAPPENED? NOTHING! Geek Squad in this store is probably the WORST GEEK SQUAD SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN SOUTH FLORIDA. It all started with my laptop, I just needed a quick and simple service with my laptop. This short blonde girl at geek squad has never seen a computer in her life. Knows less than my 12 yr old kid. She didn't even know what an ssd was( how can someone at geeksquad not know what an SSD is!?). I just needed a simple setup and she kept blabbing about her membership, quoting me 200 dollars when I was telling her i could get the service at Aventura for 50 bucks. She didn't even know the prices and was looking for them in her phone. Horrible Service, by dumb people. These guys are obviously on commission, the way they push memberships. I purchased multiple televisions and sound bar and wall brackets on July 3 in California for installation in Florida for vacation home. I was told July 17 was soonest for installation even though we would only be in town July 8-12. I was told to call Geek Squad daily for cancellations and earlier today arranged new installation date of Monday July 12. Received a confirming email so cancelled golf and cleared my schedule. Then received email stating sound bar was not in stock and needed to reschedule that part of installation for July 17. Then received email stating total order was cancelled and called back and was told items were not in stock (huh I purchased them July 3) and even though stores have them in inventory. Called back and was on hold 1:15 and then disconnected and called back and was told too bad. I'm a lifelong best buy customer. my wife and I love the experience of walking in, viewing the products and talking with the associates. We just moved to Miami Beach from Little Haiti and needed a few things for our new home. As a long standing customer with the Best Buy credit card, we were excited to be able find what we needed. This is the worst Best Buy I've ever visited in the country and I've been to Best Buy's in multiple states as a military serviceman. My initial experience was male associates only paying attention to women wearing skimpy outfits. I asked for help numerous times. Associates were on their phone, not making eye contact and just talking amongst eachother until a young attractive female walked up. Can we replace this with a Walmart then? When I called Best Buy said that it was in transit. After 5:00pm Best Buy after playing and transfer me from phone to phone, they say that my delivery is inside the truck and nobody got the truck. Does this location have the most extensive selection? No, but that is what the intertubes are for! When you want information and Geek Squad service, this Best Buy is THE place to go! My laptop (purchased from Best Buy online a mere 18 months ago) died very suddenly without warning. I was distraught. Larry S. did some research and found me a laptop very similar to his for about $1,000 less than he paid for it last year. Filled with trepidation (I was sure such a good deal wouldn't be in stock), I phoned Best Buy and the guy I talked to said not only did they have it in stock, they had TONS of them in stock. HOORAY!!! I headed over to pick it up after work and I also brought my old laptop with me as my Turbo Tax CD was in the drive and I needed to retrieve it. The guy at the Geek Squad desk (and I wish I remembered his name; he is the blonde guy with the vaguely Eastern European accent) could not have been more helpful. He showed me how to get the CD out of the drive even when the computer is dead AND he brought the old laptop back to life! Even better - I had an expired 10% off coupon and he overrode it so I got an even better deal on my new laptop. I couldn't have been happier with the customer service. In this age of being able to buy everything online and have it magically arrive 2 days later, brick and mortar stores absolutely have to provide a compelling reason for people to get dressed and come in.
