For some reason, the representatives never informed us that the model we were getting to replace our 20-year-old dishwasher was actually a worse model with a less effective screen and absolutely no smart home connectivity in 2025. For an $1,800 dishwasher, that's incredibly disappointing. Now I've got a new dishwasher that's less intelligent and less useful than my old one, and I'm confused that nobody at Ferguson thought to mention that for only $100 more, we could get a much better solution. I expected better advice from them, so this experience has been very disappointing.

Justin was very patient and really spent about 30 minutes trying to figure out a small part we needed, just an old rubber washer (a gasket, basically) from a toilet tank assembly from a discontinued line from 2009, and he looked online and in catalogues and the manufacturer's website, all of this for something that would cost $7 tops... he left no stone unturned to try to help me answer multiple questions for my boss (the wife) and find this obscure thing that would have made him, what, a 30 cent commission? I did everything possible to avoid issues -- I confirmed timelines with my salesperson, Drew, to avoid a price increase and followed up with a call. Despite that, my quote increased. After some back and forth, they did honor the original price -- but the problems didn't stop there. Drew failed to place the order, even though I had submitted it and paid in full. That delay caused major availability issues, forcing me to purchase a more expensive microwave just to stay on schedule. When I needed to change one appliance, it took weeks just to get an updated proposal. I shared my install deadline well in advance, because I had out-of-town carpenters coming specifically to install the appliance panels. House of Appliances never got back to me in time, and I missed the window. Now I have to pay extra to get the panels installed later. To make matters worse, the refrigerator drawers and wine refrigerator arrived damaged. I was told they could be repaired -- but I paid full price, and I will not accept repaired appliances. These units are required for my Certificate of Occupancy and panel installation, and I still have no resolution. I even contacted a manager and have yet to receive any help. This kind of service is unacceptable.

We asked if we could still browse their showroom. Drew immediately welcomed us and then proceeded to spend nearly an hour going over all the appliances we were looking for: ovens, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc. All the while knowing there would be no eventual sale. Drew Meltz is the best appliance salesperson we have ever met, hands down. He is supremely knowledgeable about his products, patient, cordial and a real pleasure to work with. At the register, one of my items didn't have a scan code on it and the cashier said that I had to go back and find the correct code for it. It seems to me that one of the employees should assist with that. I complained to the manager and she 100% agreed with me. Update: I visited this HD location last week and it was greatly improved. One employee was very helpful and got a larger dolly cart for me to carry bags of heavy garden soil. Also, the cashier was a bit more engaged than I've experienced in the past. Prices have increased as of late March 2026 but I don't suppose that HD's fault.

He gave us an estimate and collected his $149. We thought Appliance King was going to do the repair. But less than 5 minutes after they left, they called and said they do not service our brand/model. So, basically, they stole $149 and our time in bad faith.

With time, the rabbit hole got deeper and deeper to the point, DCS was completely unresponsive. We are now approaching two (2) years since cabinets were ordered, my kitchen is not complete, and to boot, non-functional. No stove, no sink, fridge doesn't open and so on. Under no uncertain circumstances should you ever purchase a kitchen from DCS. I did my research only to find DCS has done this to dozens of customers who like myself, still without an unfinished kitchen. Go elsewhere, don't go to Direct Cabinet Sales!!!!

There are even special photo ops like a swing with a Merry Christmas backdrop and a train you can sit in. Be sure to head down the road a little bit further where there is another ornately decorated home on the right side. Grab the family and head over here for free holiday fun. It is perfect for all ages and will put you in the jolly spirit. The lights on 5th Avenue will be running from 6 to 9 PM nightly until December 31st.
