This morning, I went to pick up a TV after receiving a notification that it was ready for pickup. When I arrived at the store, I gave the associate my customer ID number, and she assured me she would retrieve my order. Unfortunately, the TV couldn't be located, and I ended up waiting... and waiting. After 25 minutes, I was still standing there with no update on an item that was supposedly ready. I'm a patient person, but at that point, I felt it was more than reasonable to ask for a manager. I spoke with Gracie, and while I made it clear that it wasn't the cashier's fault, something clearly went wrong behind the scenes for a "ready for pickup" order to cause such a delay. I'm not sure what the holdup was, but I found the situation unprofessional and disappointing. Customer service is what keeps a business running, and when it's lacking, it leaves a lasting impression. I'm a Bestbuy card holder and I've never had any issues till now. I ordered a brand new insignia 50 inch tv yesterday. I was so excited to pick up my brand new TV. Everything was perfect until after i assembled the tv and the remote was missing. I spoke with customer service and they advised me to return the tv in the box so I can get an even exchange for the same item. When I drove all the way back to Best Buy the manager showed no sympathy or empathy as if there was no inconvenience. I'm a valued customer and a card holder I should be treated as one. I was told that they could repair my 43 inch TV that I purchased at Best Buy in the store. I made the appointment, with the geek squad. I lugged the TV to the store and service at the geek counter was refused. Store geeks including TJ the geek squad manager said only geeks who drove the one of 13 geek vans outside of the store could service and order parts. I called Sharp customer service multiple times and was given multiple 800 & 888 numbers to call for service with no luck. I was refused my ask to buy the LED diodes. I ended up driving the tv to the city to have it repaired. This location in Mt. Vernon only has 1 1/2 stars on yelp and should be closed. I was also told that the store has no manager. REALLY!!! I will make every effort not to patronize this location and may post my experience on local blogs. Too many other options. Best Buy is now a no go for me. This is basically the candy store for my dh, but we stopped by for him to pick up a purchase. While there we noticed the AC's and since we do need to replace one, we made a simple inquiry about installation. We weren't going to buy at that moment, and was seriously thinking about going to PC Richard but because Xavier was so thorough, so honest (dh was a geek squad mgr and Ops Mgr at BB years ago) he knows when someone is blowing smoke. We purchased the AC with the installation package and a warranty and walked about of there thoroughly impressed by Xavier. Unfortunately in some zip-codes that standard is not always required/maintained like it is in others. However, I have to admit for the most part I've been fortunate to have fairly good experiences at this location. Happy to say today was no different. ANIZIO, did his thing for us. When we first walked in, there was no one available or willing to assist. We located & asked a female associate for what we were looking for, & she foolishly instructed us to walking around the store to find it. Then came ANIZIO with the Cape & "S" on his CHEST to the rescue, (bc she was dead wrong & clearly didn't want her job) asking what we were looking for & explaining what he had available in stock. He took his time explaining all options, suggesting what would be the best. Went online with us did some comparisons and actually found us a new model at a better price. I purchased a printer and I never received it. I called Best Buy and ask for a refund and they said no problem, except I never received a penny back. They told me they refunded me but there is no proof of the transaction anywhere. I called customer service 10 to 15 times and every time they try to tell me that it was written down that I was refunded but I never was refunded. No matter who I spoke to or how many hours I stayed online with customer service I never received my money. Best Buy robbed me! Some of the staff here is horrible. They're rude and have you waiting while they display moments of unprofessional behavior and conversations amongst each other. The cellular staff has given us the wrong information before and it gets to be a little frustrating. This particular location has always been one I never enjoyed visiting. The customer service is horrid. Like the Target across the street, I really wonder how these "workers" are able to maintain their jobs - but it really comes down to poor management. I've been here a few times unfortunately and I've decided to never come here again, as it doesn't pay to get aggravated over inept, rude, and terrible employees this place hires. We went in there with a list of about 15 comp hardware parts, spent about 1 1/2 hrs going back and forth between register and aisle looking for specific parts. Even though more than half of the items were not in stock he made sure we did not leave w/o ordering everything we needed. He was completely patient and helpful, we cannot thank him enough. We went in there with very low expectations as we dread going to this best buy because of the poor customer service but we will know to look for Madison from now on. Thank you!! read more

Worst customer experience I have ever seen in this store. I went in looking for an IPad Case and an IPhone car dash mount. Seeing several blue shirt employees standing around chatting, it was disheartening to feel like I was interrupting their conversation & joking around. After several more attempts of walking around to find someone not helping an individual, I asked for assistance and one gentleman wanted to sell me the first thing he had in his hand which was a blue 4' charging cable when I asked for a 6' cable. After approaching another group of employees chatting they all look at each other as if I had the plague when I asked about removing a cover from the box to feel its weight and texture. After having hand surgery everything seems to slip out of my hands hence the new cover needed. I finally put down two cases that I was interested in and walked out. It seemed a waste of time as I can go home and order everything on line & return what I don't want or even order direct from manufacturer and possibly get a better price especially since it's around the holidays. read more

So the word is that big box stores and brick and mortar establishments are on the way out. Maybe that's true, maybe it's not but this girl loves a room full of technology and Best Buy is one of the best dressed 'rooms' for that sort of thing! I came here to have them price match a computer for me because I really didn't want to drive up to Micro Center for the better price and without hesitation, the lower price was granted! In addition, as I was paying, Milton was great at making sure I knew everything about the warranty, geek squad, web security and accessories. Milton wasn't informing me in a sales pitchy way, it was more of a 'did you know' vibe. I came in knowing exactly what I wanted and I felt like he was making sure I knew everything (which I didn't) so I appreciated him for that. Best Buy and all stores like them are in a transitory state right now with the deluge of online opportunities to shop so the customer service may be wanting at times, the store may need straightening up (a very big job!) but I love them anyway! I recently went to purchase a dryer. I purchased the dryer and the salesperson started promoting a 1 yr tech support program and went on and on and on about how great a service it was and how much I would save if I purchased this plan. At a moment of weakness, I gave in and purchased the tech plan along with the dryer given I had an old computer with old pictures I wanted to download into an external drive and an old apple tablet that I needed to service bc I had forgotten the the pw. A few days later I decided that I really did not want the service and went to the store to cancel the service get a refund given that I had not activated the service. I was told by salesman that I could not. Mind you, at no point I was told that this service took effect from the day of purchase and there were no refunds once the service was purchased. I returned a few weeks later to get both my old laptop and tablet service only to discover that the geek could not service either. My tablet was too old and he could not recover my pictures from my laptop. I know the young man tried but to no avail. Now I paid $212 for tech support service that could address my issues. You would think I could proceed to cancel this service since I hv no other use at this time for this. Word of advice: Don't buy this service unless u bring your equipment in and they determine they can help you. Don't buy this service bc they did not disclose that once u agree to purchase plan you are stuck with no chance of recovering your money or getting credit towards another purchase from the store. Well, apparently even playing FETCH is too complicated for the lazy idiots that work at the Mount Vernon BestBuy. Good manners are apparently difficult for them too. I ordered a simple cable online for in store pickup. The BestBuy dogs could not fetch correctly. They did not apologize, stood there scratching themselves for a few minutes until I realized it was hopeless to await a miracle. I demanded a cancelation and refund. When they refused to give me a written copy of the proof of cancelation, I demanded to see the manager...and it went downhill from there. Angel was a TOTAL joy to deal with. A very hardworking person. He wasn't pushy and I felt that he truly wanted me to get exactly what I was looking for and not try to sell me something WAY over my budget. He was patient as my son and I debated certain things. He stood by us ready and able to answer each and every question we asked. He even convinced me to get a stove, which I was on the fence about. When it came to price matching, there wasn't a hesitation. Even when we were ready to walk out the door without purchasing something, he said he'd be there the rest of the day and if he wasn't, I could speak to Micah another great sales associate Best Buy employs. While I had entered Best Buy with the intention of getting the best price and then going to Home Depot, Lowe's and PC Richard, Best Buy was the only store we visited. This location have the laziest people on earth. We went here to inquire about their trade in program. All the staff in the mobile dept. are sitting and chatting with each other. They all look like they're just waiting for 8pm so they could all go home. They weren't helping at all. This girl we spoke to looked very annoyed when we asked her questions and acted like we're bothering her. Stay away from this place! * I went here again to buy a printer. I gave them my rewards coupon but for some reason it won't work. The staff ringing me up wants to still give the $5 off to me so she called the manager. Now this manager doesn't want to authorize the discount and made a horrible remark, quote " That's their strategy. That's how they trick you". Referencing to the coupon code that won't work and insinuating that I did something to trick them so I can get a discount. I just looked at her. Car alarms aside, this place is decent. It's big and clean, like every other Best Buy ever. I was able to browse through appliances without being mobbed by salesmen, which to me is a good thing (i didn't actually want to buy anything that day, and who knows if i would have been able to find a salesman if i did). The best part, though, is their recycling program. You can bring any rechargeable batteries, old CDs and DVDs, ink cartridges, etc., and dump them in a bin and Best Buy does the rest. They even recycle some electronics, including laptops. You pay a $10 fee, but they also give you a $10 Best Buy gift card, so it's not so bad. (The driveway is practically hidden, though, so if you're not familiar with the area, check a map carefully first and be prepared to do a few u-turns.) read more

Supposedly no more in stock. They put it on order. Before we even got home got an email that now magically they have another. Went back two days later to pick it up. You guessed it; not in stock; at least ten employees involved in the transaction. We have been in this store over an hour now on two separate occasions to try to exchange one CD. The customer service section is completely disorganized. The ONLY person in the store hat seems to have a clue is Kelvin, the assistant manager. We had help from a gentleman int he tech dept. who thought about our issue and was able to diagnose that his issue was most likely a weak router. BUT I did...and it wasn't to nice, had a couple of zero's, a couple of one's, a five and a 10 for not being rude. So I had bad service with a smile. I received a call the very next day about my experience from Dan...and I felt he genuinely listened to what I had to say and was concerned about how his staff and store represented it self. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT shop here. Any money you think you'll save will not be worth the level of patience you need to deal with these people ESPECIALLY the managers. We were supposed to have an appliance delivered and not only did the delivery guy lie and say we weren't home, he just walked around our property and then just took a picture of our front door and never rang the doorbell (we have it all on video). It looked like he was trying to case our house to come back and rob it later. Calling the store number doesn't actually get you the store just a call center. I had to go back to the store and deal with them in person. When I said I wanted money off of my purchase for the inconvenience they said I had to wait until the appliance delivered. WHAT?!??
