Best Buy has a nice scam going on. Bought a computer there and went to pay, Sales kid asks if I want to save $80+ on my purchase. I decide why not, it will pay for the tax on my purchase plus a little. I need to apply for their Best Buy credit card though and if approved I get the discount. Against my better judgement I'm entering my address, ss#, monthly income in a public area... I really don't like divulging that information in a public setting. My bill is now on their credit card and the total on the receipt doesn't show any discount, but I assumed the discount would come when they sent me the bill. Remember what they say about assumptions? I get the bill and it's the full price on the computer I bought. I call the # on the card and ask why the discount isn't applied. She has no idea what I'm talking about and transfers me to customer service. This gentleman tells me that the $80+ I accrued is not off my bill but a credit system that I can use at the store. I tell him that is not what I was told at the register, and I would never have applied for their credit card for store credit. He said he understands my frustrations but, yadda yadda yadda. Nothing he can do, go to the store. My whole morning wasted, waiting on hold and arguing a bill for $80+. So, I'll pay the bill in full. I'll have to go into that lying den of a store again and use my 'credits'. then cancel my card and never set foot in any of their stores again. Best part? I was told to come to the nearest store (Per Customer Service representative), so they could track item to stop delivery. Well, anyone that knows IPhone IOS knows you need a another trusted phone number to move through the verification processes to initially set up the phone. I didn't have a working phone. Hello, Apple, that's why I am buying one? My prior phone was inoperable, locked. Does Apple even think of this as an issue for a customer, not having a second device? Up until I met Kennedy, I felt stranded. I had no one with me, no friend or a family member to borrow a phone during set up. I purchased a Samsung 60' TV from Best Buy IN Santa Row on March 6, 2023 and on May 23, 2023 the TV stopped working. When I purchased my TV, I also purchased a five-year warranty plan. Now my TV is not working, and the Geek Squad cannot get to me for a week. They do not offer a replacement TV they just said I have to wait until they can get to me. Had a radio installed by Kevin G in the install department. Installed my new alpine ilx 107, brought it in and had everything done on it including steering wheel controls. Had it finished within a couple hours the same day and everything worked well. Highly recommend him for any of your install needs. This is a intricate stereo console with wifi CarPlay along with various touch screen functions and console settings. Kevin had it all entirely Set up and customized so my car was ready to go. Management took awhile to verify all price matches i had where as Kevin had everything ready for me on arrival. He Transferred from another Best Buy due to his old location closing down... don't follow any old reviews on this store when it comes to audio and install. Although he's new at this store, Kevin's the real deal. From being detail oriented in his work, polite, informative, and honest, this is definitely the dude I'll recommend and come back to whenever I'll need anything else installed. Went in for a trade-in and was deeply disappointed by the representative's unprofessionalism. She was rude, lazy, and seemed more interested in her Starbucks coffee than in assisting customers. When she didn't know the answer to my question, she simply ignored it rather than seeking help or asking someone else. I had to visit twice for my trade-in. The Best Buy in Costa Mesa made a huge mistake, which cost me two weeks of stress. I put a down payment on an iPad Pro that I ended up returning. An employee there didn't know what she was doing, and told me my deposit would be returned by AT&T. It wasn't. I went to the Best Buy in Orange to see if I can get an answer. Erick Contreras and Richard Hodson, who work in the Mobile department, walked me through what should have happened, and showed me that Best Buy WAS supposed to refund my down payment when I returned the item. Normally, I would have to go back to the Costa Mesa store, and I didn't want to since they already screwed me over. Would love to cancel my order and take my business elsewhere but my return would go to a store credit, even though the appliances have not been delivered.
