I just bought some stuff online for the holiday sale season and thought I'd stop in to pick up an item in person. Maybe look around to see if there was any other deal to be had. How bad could it be? The answer is pretty dire. The parking lot was a nightmare, as this store is at the end of a row of stores with pedestrians aimlessly milling at their own pace through the single road to get there. Walking into the store, it was cavernous but really rather empty. Some of the carpet was messy, particularly remarkable when you consider the horde of Roombas and other similar devices that are in stock here; apparently they don't have one of their own. I had a few theoretical tech needs but couldn't find anything to meet them in stock. But whatever, I went to pick up the one thing I'd already bought. I opened my pickup email, and clicked a link. It told me to go to the checkout line. The checkout line was painfully slow, with a few people talking endlessly, in part about the store's rewards program and in part about other needlessly complex minutiae of their transaction. When the line in front of me didn't move for ten minutes and the other one did, I hopped over, but a *store employee* cut in front of me in order to use his employee discount to buy a bag of chips. Slowly. While chatting it up. Only after that did I actually get any service, at which point I was told that the line for pickup was a customer service desk elsewhere that wasn't immediately obvious. And only after another wait did I finally receive the singular item I came for and get the hell out of there. If this experience was supposed to compete with online shopping, this industry won't be around much longer. read more

The sales associate at the register, tried to trick me in to applying for a BB credit card. He stated they had a promotion if you updated your account profile, you'd get 10% off your purchase. He asked for my driver's license, which I gave to him, and after I thought about it, they shouldn't need my drivers license for my profile. I asked him was this for a credit card and he said yes. I told him he never stated it was for a cc and it was a deceptive way to get customers to provide their drivers license to attempt to open a cc without proper knowledge or explanation. He looked at me in my face and said he told me it was for a credit card and I told him he didn't because I ALREADY HAVE A BEST BUY CREDIT CARD!! The trickery and deception of it all. I will NEVER step foot in that store again. Beware!! I asked for a store manager and was told no one was available and I called the local store number to ask for the store manager, and after being on hold for over 10 minutes, and was told no one was available to assist at the time, I hung up. Be careful of how they're being coached to open store credit cards. I know the sales associate's name, however, I'm not a malicious person attempting to get this guy in trouble. It's obvious, they were "coached" this method of deception. It's a shame these associates are so desperate to open a credit card, they're willing to be dishonest. I will take this to their corporate office because it's misleading and if someone isn't paying attention, they will provide enough information resulting in a hit on their credit score. I had an issue with my iPhone 12. It went into a repetitive loop only showing the Apple logo and not booting. I spent about 7 hours trying to repair it but ultimately failed. Took it to Best Buy and their Geek Squad fixed it in 15 minutes. The service was first rate, courteous and free. They were a godsend. read more

Absolutely the worse customer service I have ever had. Bought a car stereo from the Christiansburg store but had to set up installation at the Roanoke store. When I set up the installation I asked them to order me the dash kit hardware and they said they would and I could pay the $16 when I bought it in for installation. Took 1/2 day vacation and drove an hour and they had not ordered it. Assistant manager got on the computer and ordered it and said she would not charge me for my trouble. Yesterday was the earliest appointment I could get. Took another 1/2 day vacation and drove an hour and sure enough, the part was not there. They said the order had been cancelled because I did not pick it up in a timely manner. How could I pick it up if it was supposed to be there when I had my appointment. Assistant manager absolutely no help and she called the store manager who was worthless. Just stared at the computer screen, shrugged his shoulder and said sorry but it was not their fault. Figure that one out. I asked him for a $100 store credit for my inconvenience and he refused. My wife and me bought a $1,500 computer last December, I bought a tv set this year and the radio from them and he just said he couldn't do it. Asked him who his supervisor was and he said 888BESTBUY. He asked me if I wanted to set up another appointment and I said no, I had no confidence in him or his staff and he said OKAY. Called 888BESTBUY and they could not believe the way he (Lawrence) had treated me. Said I was very much in my right to ask for a store credit and he WAS authorized to give me one. They are emailing me a store credit and they set me up an appointment at another BEST BUY. I gave this store 0 stars because they don't care and don't want to help solve problems. We relocated from new jersey To virginia and since then it's been nothing but headaches With best buy appliances stove came damaged, refrigerator damaged,and dishwasher missing attachment. They came on June 5th and we have the appliances temporarily but new won't be until August 22nd. They installed a microwave lopsided and damaged our cabinet. That is taking 3 weeks to get corrected. I purchased a phone not long ago. It's not dependable. I have had several issues with it. Since the phone was purchased I have had difficulty receiving/sending texts. I have not been able to use data outside of my home. I took it to our local Best Buy. The manager asked a member of Geek Squad to look at it. He fiddled with it. He said it works for me. Calling...yes but I have a smart phone that should do much more. Well, now it's a carrier issue. My son purchased a television from Best Buy online. It came damaged. They did not have one in the store. He ended up paying about $750 more a similar television. That particular manager blamed the delivery company. I have dealt with this store before and never had good luck unless it was something I could pick up off the shelf and just take to checkout. (Once they tried to sell me an open box Sony TV with no remote for a great 'discounted' price of about $1500 that turned out to be list price when I checked on the internet). Well, I needed a new battery for my iPhone, and it was either go to BB or drive 2.5 hours to an Apple store. So I took the plunge once again. Made an appt with the Geek Squad via their website. Prior to going (a 40 minute drive), I tried to call to make sure everything was good (what did I need to bring? parts in stock? etc.). THEY NEVER EVER EVER ANSWER THE PHONE!!! EVER. Three calls over two days, and You. Just. Wait. On. Hold. I waited each time -- up to an hour by the last call. Just decided to forget calling and finally went for my scheduled 2:20 appointment. By 3:00 I was still waiting, but then finally got a Geek to help. It took 20 minutes for him just to go through the paperwork/signup to fix the phone, then finally went to do the job and came back to tell me they don't have a battery in stock! Had to pay for the repair anyway, so they could order the part. Should be 1-3 days to get it, he said, and they would call me. 8 days later, I still hadn't heard from them so tried to call. Guess what? Did I mention that THEY NEVER EVER EVER ANSWER THE PHONE?!!! So I'm going for another hour and a half ride Got to the store, and had to wait in line for over an hour just to ask whether my part ever came in. It hadn't. I cancelled the order, got a refund and decided to send the phone in to Apple. Going without a phone for a few days (!) is better than having to deal with these guys. If you like dealing with used car dealers, this might be the place for you. As for me, I will never set foot in this place again. read more

Put on many miles, many visits to BB and cell servers because I was sold a Sony phone and BB doesn't honor Sony warrantees. Told the salesman I had fiber to the house but no cell service. He said the Sony XA2 Ultra would be good. I needed wifi calling and the phone was not capable. Sony insisted wifi calling was in "the fabric of the phone. It is not. Even sent it back to Sony, BB would do nothing, which took an ordeal as Sony doesn't have service in the US. The phone came back the same. So, the combo of Best Buy and Sony was a waste and I paid BB $50 more than net prices, assuming I would have back up. NOOOOOOO. read more

Terrible customer service with automated system. I was on hold for over 17 minutes and no one answered the phone. The automated system is not customer friendly. I needed to schedule an auto installation and will have to go to the store to make an appointment. I will definitely reconsider before buying another product at Best Buy. read more

I purchased a Samsung TV from this store on Friday September 13th. I noted that the box was re-taped however it was not presented as re-boxed. I purchased this TV as a gift for my girlfriend. When I unpacked the TV and set it up I noticed a large crack in the screen - I drove back the 45-minutes to the store with the intent of exchanging the TV. The manager, Matthew, told me that it was their determination that I caused the damage and that I was not entitled to any refund. As a Best Buy preferred customer I was angered beyond words. My gift was trash and I left the store with nothing. I advise that if you are able go to a different location, keep your business away from this location and know your rights before doing any kind of transactions with Best Buy. The lack of customer service and a policy that the customer is wrong is a horrible precedent. Now I have to initiate a dispute through my credit card company and spend time trying to correct the issue. BUYER BEWARE read more

Jeremy Kitts was fantastically helpful. I was looking for a new TV, and I was undecided between the Sony and the Samsung. His careful explanation, and the demonstration of the televisions made it an easy decision. I also bought a Sonos system, but I bought the wrong speaker. He made my return easy, and he even grabbed the correct speaker and brought it to the return section. I have had only one other Best Buy be this good (Grapevine, TX). I am highly pleased, and will return frequently. My only complain is that they did not have several Apple Watch items in stock, but I was able to order online. I received some BOSE wireless earbuds for Christmas and they stopped working 4 months later. We had the extended replacement warranty and exchanged them. Then Had to pay for a new extended warranty. In all, we did get them replaced but have spent more than the regularly priced product would have been. I figured, progress. Oh well and have continued spending my money at this location. Last weekend I spent an hour with a couple sales associates teaching and selling me on a deal for 3 amazon echo devices and 3 smart bulbs. Keep in mind a sales associate convinced me to take these. I was sold. Then went to ring up and everything was full price. After waiting for 20 more minutes a manager told me that I couldn't stack deals. I asked where we would know that to which he said sorry. I explained that we had spent a considerable amount of time with his staff selling us and he said that's too bad. Greeted at the door today, and directed to the exact place I needed to be. My damaged (but under warranty) Gear Fit2Pro was exchanged (giftcarded) with no questions, no delays. I was then directed to the proper section of the store. Of course, 'tis the way of tech stuff -- my original purchase had been discontinued. My 'greater than the replacement cost' gift card was twice the cost of a comparable device. I am short, so after checking out my options, i jumped up and waved my arms toward a group of reps -- on the double, EDWARD was at my side. He knows A LOT of stuff. And every question I asked was answered. Not a sales pitch like you would think; just the facts along with the whys and why nots. I ended up being able to upgrade for very few dollars more than the cost of my (over) one-year old original. Professional and knowledgeable. I decided to treat my self to an Apple Watch for an anniversary present in my career.. decided to give this Best Buy another shot as I've went in a couple times and always had just kind of a "meh" experience. Courtney one of the store managers is rude and is not customer focused. I bought a phone at the store. When working with salesperson he provided us the cost of the phone from the Bestbuy website. I also had a coupon that the salesperson said would work if I bought the phone outright, which is what I did. When it got rang up, The stores system had a $50 higher cost than website. The website did not say online only price. They called Courtney over. Courtney acted like I was trying to steal from them by asking for her to give me the price her salesperson gave and accept the coupon. "We don't let people double dip". I did use the coupon but overpaid by the $50 dollars. I called their toll free number and they agree I should have received the lower price, but I would need to go back to the store for the adjustment. Bestbuy just lost a good customer because of Courtney. And from my interaction with her, I can tell she will not care. I wonder why they use the website to look up prices if the store has a different price. Also, Bestbuy and other websites usually list that it is a online only price. This item is not one of them. Just want people to know how bad this location is. read more

When she found it for my employee to take, did she call to apologize for being rude, inconsiderate and downright ignorant...of course not and you wonder why Best Buy is always rated in the top 10 Worst Stores to deal with. Wow. I have been consistently disappointed with Best Buy, and my recent interactions with them are no exception. I've gone into the store 4 times in the past 3 weeks to try and buy a Smart Cover for an iPad. Simple, right? At first they have none in stock at all. Okay, post-Christmas rush, I can see that. The second visit, then had only one or two, and those only in gray. When I ask, they cannot (they say) tell me when they will get more in, as they don't know what's in any given shipment. Um, not helpful. On the next visit they at least tell me the days trucks come in. On the fourth, they tell me to call ahead so I could save a trip. Seems like a good plan, considering. So I call. The phone rings through for a full minute (I have a timer on my office phone) before anyone answers--and the the phone picks up and promptly slams down on me. Hang up on me? I don't think so. I call again and push the button for the Geek Squad (rather than sales associate) to see if someone will answer that line. It takes at least 45 seconds, but someone finally picks up. The young man I talk to goes to check, saying "It may take a few minutes." He's back reasonably quickly, says they have two in black and gray. "Polyurethane, or is one leather?" Silence. He doesn't seem to realize they come in different materials. "Um, the gray one is really thin, and the black one too." "Are they both polyurethane or is one leather?" "Well, they're more gray. They have a stand." "Thye fold up to make a stand, you mean." "Um, yeah, they have a stand. I just want to be sure we're tallking about the same thing." At this point I'm not sure we are. I give up, hang up. So, poor selection, lack of inventory knowledge, and getting them to answer the phone is a major feat. I'm going online to the Apple store. read more

Very impressed with geek squad! FYI always pay extra for the warranty thru them. We purchased a gateway computer from another location almost 2 years ago when it began to have problems we took it to this location about a month before our warranty from geek squad was up and they had it a month and were unable to fix it so we got a refund on a 2 year old computer! The staff was helpful in helping us pick out another computer I'm very pleased about how smooth it went. read more

Best Buy was perfect in delivering a refrigerator to our home. They gave us the delivery date and time range, followed up with 2 calls, and identified a specific time on delivery date.
